"Now remember, I won't be out there to help you I will monitor you all, and once the week is over, the only thing you need to survive is the trip back to these gates." Libra typed in a very complicated password.

"Cap your staying with me, since you use your computer, you can still communicate with them." Libra put a hand on his shoulder.

Cap shrugged it away and looked her in the eyes. "No, I have other talents, I just haven't shown them off yet, let me out there with the team, please?" He gave a begging look.

Libra contemplated in her head. "Fine, but at your own risk." She pushed a glowing green button and stood back. The large metal doors hissed and loudly creaked open. The doors revealed the outside world. It was ugly it looked dull, the air was permanently tainted with the smell of rotting bodies.

Everyone gagged and instinctively covered their noses. "Alright, step outside." Libra said. Everyone cautiously stepped outside and looked around constantly.

"Well, good luck, and try not to die." Libra had just sent them off to their deaths. The doors closed and a loud click followed indicating the doors were now locked. "We are all screwed." Leo said the first words.

He twirled his pistols and scanned the area, it looked like a desolate highway, cars were turned onto their backs and glass was scattered everywhere. A gas station was across the highway. "Let go to the gas station, we may find some food or water." Gemini recommended as she fastened the buckles on her spiked knuckle braces.

Cap opened his computer and started typing while walking. The group had slowly walked across the highway, keeping an eye out for any infected. Taurus walked proudly next to Aquarius, he wanted her to feel safe around him. "Ok, gather anything that seems useful." Leo told the others.

Cap sat on the ground, typing vigorously. After a few moments Cap stood up. "Got it! I have a map of this area for about 2 miles." He smiled proudly. "Nice Cap!" Gemini gave him a thumbs up and a wink.

Cap blushed. "This is a stupid test! She is basically saying to go die now." Aries was leaning against the window. "I agree." Virgo said. "We have no choice anymore, if you wanted to back out you had the chance earlier." Leo glanced at Aries. "Why you." He grabbed a fistful of Leo's shirt. "Guys this is no time for fighting." Pisces said quietly.

Aries scoffed and shoved him away. "I got some food, Taurus can you check if it's good enough to eat?" Aquarius handed bags of chips and bars of chocolate.

"Chocolate lasts for years that's fine, the chips are expired but nothing happens if you eat them, they will only taste a bit stale." He smelled the chips. Aqua shoved it into a backpack she found while crossing the highway. "Any water." Virgo asked her. "I checked the bathroom sink water, but the taps won't even turn on." Pisces whispered.

"They must be rusted shut." Leo cursed. "Ok, we better move." Aries said "we can't stay in one place too long." They exited the gas station and wearily looked around, it was too quiet. They walked along the highway for at least three hours, not finding anything. "Hey! Let's take the exit, that must mean there are buildings." Gemini pointed at the signs which read exit 36. They took the exit and walked for another thirty minutes. "I see buildings!" Gemini squealed.

"That means there are infected there." Aries squinted. "The infected walk around buildings, houses, and cars, trying to find anyone else to eat." He explained. Pisces shivered at the thought. They crouch walked the majority of the time. "There!" Aquarius whisper yelled. "There is a store over there!" She pointed.

The infected were nowhere to be seen. "Well let's go." Leo stood up and jogged to the store, everyone followed. Leo put a hand on the handle and started opening it. "WAIT!" Cap grabbed his hand. He pressed the enter button. "Alarm system disabled." He let go of Leo's hand. "The infected lost their eyesight extremely quickly to the virus, so they rely heavily on sound, because of that their ears have adapted to pick up the smallest of sounds." Cap whispered.

"How did you know?" Gemini blinked her eyes curiously. "I googled it!" Cap showed her the screen. Aquarius slapped her hand to her forehead. "Ok let's get inside, I don't feel safe out here." Taurus whispered. They opened the door and it thankfully made no noise.

Aquarius searched the freezer aisle for anything drinkable. She reached the drinks side and they only things left were Soda and Gatorade, better than nothing. She grabbed as many bottles as she could and also shoved some into Taurus's backpack. "Guys we got drinks." Aquarius announced. Aries had his back against the window. "Any water?" He asked. Aquarius shook her head "not here." Aqua heard a faint thud. She looked around nervously. Another thud.

Shit where is that coming from she thought in panic. She looked around again and her eyes fell on Aries. "EVERYONE DUCK DOWN!" She yelled in her loudest voice and regretted it. In an instant everyone was on the floor. "There is and infected right outside the store, someone needs to block the door." Aquarius whispered. Nobody said anything or even dared to move.

"God damn it you pansies." She army crawled slowly. Taurus reached out to grab her but was too late. "What the bloody hell are you doing Aqua?" Aries took out his sniper. "I can just shoot the damn thing down." He cocked his gun. "No! If you do that the other infected will hear, only combat weapons." She looked at him. She reached the door and peeked outside.

The infected looked like a man he was disgusting. Maggots crawled in and out of holes, his skin a sickly blue gray color, he was missing body parts, and he groaned and moaned as if in constant pain. She almost threw up her stomach tightened. The infected man was walking back and forth, knowing something delectable was on the other side.

Aqua knew if she went to block the door he would see her and immediately go after her. She took the chance, her weapon in hand she jumped up and shoved all her weight against the door.

The infected let out an ear deafening howl and limped quickly to her. The door this as he tried to break through, his saliva pouring from his mouth at the thought of a delicious meal. "Fucking hell!" She yelled. The first time she curse aloud.

Everyone gasped. The man launched his hand and it hit the glass door full on, a crack appeared. "Shit." Aqua whispered. Taurus got to his feet and sheathed his machetes. "Let the god damn bastard in! I will slice his head clean off!" Taurus growled.

"I can't and I won't take the chance of any of you getting bit." Aqua grunted as he started slamming his body into the glass, they were getting smarter. With a final shove the infected shattered the glass and tackled Aqua to the ground. "FUCK!" She screamed as she let go of her pole and fell to the ground, she gasped as the wind was knocked out of her.

The infected was in top of Aqua, straining his neck to get a bite out of her. She tried holding him back, but her muscles burned. "LET GO OF HER SHE IS MINE!" Taurus screamed and brought down one machete. It cleanly severed its head, and rolled away. His body slumped onto Aqua.

She could feel the maggots crawling against her clothes. She frantically shoved the body away and ran into the corner and practically threw up her guts. Taurus was panting and stared at the limp body and severed head.

Everyone got up to examine the body. "Looks like if we sever the head, they die instantly." Cap whispered. "No shit." Aries rolled his eyes. Aqua came back shivering and had a crazed look in her eyes.

Taurus wrapped his arm around her shoulders and warmed her. "It's ok, you're safe now." He sighed and kissed her on the cheek. "Wait. Are you two a thing now?!" Virgo gasped. Everyone ignored her and sighed in relief, then they realized this was only one infected, there were millions out there.
