Chapter 7 ~ My Last First Kiss

Venom ~

It’s been a couple weeks since the party. I haven’t seen too much of Delaney.. she’s not working as often.. mostly the weekends. She told me she was finishing up her degree.. I don’t remember in what. She will tell me again..

But! She agreed to have dinner with me tonight. And I am really looking forward to it. I dressed in black jeans and a gray tee shirt before braiding my hair and putting my cut on.

I got to her house ten minutes early.. Maddox ran out.. screaming my name and hugging me. My entire soul warmed up.. Maddox is one special kid.

Delaney came down the stairs dressed in an adorable dark green long sleeved cocktail length dress.. She looked.. Hot. Damned hot! Holy hot as fuck Hot! I’m in trouble. Torin is literally drooling dog snarf on my brain. Nice!

She smiled at me and my big bad biker heart slipped into my shoes. I am most definitely in trouble. Hopefully, I can persuade her to get into trouble with me.

She kissed Maddox goodbye and told Mrs. Sutton we would just be at the restaurant. What? It’s the best place in town to eat. Another one of Delaney’s many accomplishments.

I ordered a filet mignon’ and she had chicken cordon bleu. I told her “I had Marcus Walters investigated. I have eyes on him now. We will know the minute he walks out of there. Please don’t think of it as an invasion of your privacy. I care about you and Maddox.” She nodded.. “I’m not sure how I feel about that. It’s not that I mind, per se.. it’s more I think I would have wanted to know you were doing it. And I would have told you anything you wanted to know, anyway. I am an open book.”

I smiled “Word of honor, I will never do anything in regards to you or Maddox, without discussing it with you first.” She grinned back “Progress “ making me laugh.

I cleared my throat “I.. Uhh.. I want to tell you about my rejection. I knew my mate before I was deployed to Iraq. She was waiting for me to return home and take up my Alpha mantle. My father was killed while I was away.. and my younger brother took on interim Alpha. When I returned, he refused to give up the title.. even challenged me. I refused the challenge.. abdicating my position. Jessalyn rejected me on the spot for not making her Luna.. I accepted it immediately, because I was not going to kill my brother for her.”

She looked stunned “Wow! Fucking Wow! We both sure got the shitty end of the mate lottery. I am so glad I didn’t get to know Dylan at all. That must have hurt. I am sorry she did that to you.”

My turn to be stunned. She was apologizing for me going through pain. This girl has an amazing heart. I took her hand.. bringing it to my lips.. gently kissing her knuckles “Thank you..”

We talked about her schooling and the fact she wants to be a nurse. She told me about the little bully at school had backed off Valerie..but she thinks it’s more out of fear of Maddox.. than a change of heart. Laughing at that, I said “Good for Maddox”

We ordered coffee after dinner and I had leaned over to ask her to take a walk.. when a voice said “What in THE fuck are you doing here?”

Delaney busted out laughing “It’s MY restaurant, Dylan! I am supposed to be here.” Dylan snarled “I meant whoring around like this in public.”

She laughed louder “Ohh.. you mean like… You.. with your wannabe Luna.” He reached for her and I grabbed his arm.. standing up. I heard “Tiberius?” My head spun to the left..”Oh! You have Got to be shitting me! Delaney, say hello to Jessalyn.”

And she doubled over in laughter. All I could do was wait until she stopped laughing.. because I wasn’t about to turn loose of this poor excuse of an Alpha.

I looked at Jessalyn and grinned “Congratulations on nailing that Luna gig! Kudos!” She went to slap me, and Delaney caught her wrist. Now here we stand.. me holding Dylan’s arm.. Delaney holding Jessalyn’s wrist.. my arm over the top of hers.

Delaney turned loose of Jessalyn and said “Don’t try it again.” I turned Dylan loose “Ever think of touching Delaney again, I will take your pack. If you know anything… know that as truth! I know you recognized the name!”

Delaney whipped her head toward me..I smiled “Later.. I promise.” She nodded.. simply accepting what I just said. It’s something I admire about her. She doesn’t waste words.. just waits to hear something.. without judging.

I stood beside her.. Jessalyn decided she had to try and insult us.. “I see you decided to go the filthy biker route.. The war ruined you. Couldn’t even fight for your rightful title. Now you will never be an Alpha.”

Delaney laughed “Oh Goddess, Venom! You dodged a bullet with this one.. Bet she doesn’t have enough brains to fill a thimble!” She turned to Jessalyn.. and as patiently as she would speak to a child, told her “An Alpha isn’t made.. it isn’t about a title. Alphas are born with the mantle. It isn’t bestowed upon them by ascending. And.. just so you know.. Venom IS an Alpha.. Not in your archaic perception of it.. but in his instinctive spirit that allows him to be nothing else. His pack already numbers over nine hundred.. every single one loyal only to him and the pack. In your greed.. you gave up the most precious thing we are ever promised, in this life. Just like your buddy, Dylan, here.”

Jessalyn snarls “I don’t know a Venom.. so whatever nonsense you’re spewing doesn’t have anything to do with me.” Delaney smiled and told her “No.. I don’t suppose you ever really knew Tiberius.. let alone a man of Venom’s caliber.”

I took her hand in mine.. squeezing it gently. This woman defended me.. stood up for me. Not even fronting… that feels good. I turned to walk her out and Dylan said “At least my mate isn’t slumming with bikers.” Causing Delaney to laugh again “Geez, Dylan! Slumming? Slumming would be.. mated… to you! You suck at insults. Should refrain from trying.. That just made you look like a petty ass. You rejected me, remember? My life? … None of your business.”

I walked her outside and asked “Are you ready to go home.. or would you take a walk around the park with me?” She grinned and said “This is my first time out with a man. I don’t know shit about dating protocol.. I’m going to say we take the walk.. because, in all honesty, I don’t want to say good night yet.”

As we walked.. I began to speak.. I told her about my life. How I had been groomed to be Alpha. How.. even now, the mantle weighs heavy. Then I said “Golden Lake was the largest, strongest pack in the country.. before Cabot took over. My name instills fear in the werewolf realm. I was born larger, stronger and faster than anyone else. It’s why my father suggested I go into the military. I learned discipline..and how to control my strength. My actual name is Tiberius Stone.” I waited for her reaction.. and there was none.

She smiled “Pleased to meet you.. but I know Venom. I like Venom. Tiberius is a name in a book.. and history books are never accurate.”

I took her into my arms.. asking “Can I kiss you?” She giggled and told me “Yes.. but it’s my first one ever.. so don’t expect much.” I dove my face to hers and captured her lips.. I raked my teeth against her lower lip, when she gasped.. I gently pushed my tongue inside her mouth for my first taste of her. A little moan escaped her and shot straight to my dick. Damn!

I ended the kiss and whispered “I kissed you.. and like you suggested, expected nothing.. But, I discovered everything. That was the best first kiss of my life. I will do whatever it takes to make certain it is my LAST first kiss. Would you consider being my girlfriend?”
