Lesson Thirty-Two - Don't Let Idiots Ruin Your Day.

Hearing Sky sigh for the hundredth time tonight I finally turned around and looked at her. We were watching movies in the cinema room in my house eating sweets. It was her idea but ever since we got her she's done nothing but sulk in the chair beside me.

"What's wrong with you?" I finally asked. It was clearly she had finally got the response that she wanted because she looked at me with bright eyes and leaned forward. It was like a child finally getting attention.

"Where did your brother go out tonight?"

Jake let out a laugh beside me but coughed to try and cover it up. He clearly failed in hiding his amusement. This made me raise my eyebrow and turn to face my other best friend again. There was something going on and I clearly didn't know.

"I think he went out to Anarchy with the rest of them."

Her blue eyes went wide and she sat forward in her seat the movie was now completely forgotten about.

"But it was shot up not that long ago, like what if it gets attacked again. You just won that race again Zane's gang what if he wants revenge and goes back. What if some other gang goes there. It's known to be Riker's......"

"Ok I'm going to stop you right there." I put my hands on her shoulders making sure she was purely looking at me and me alone. I could see the conflict going through her eyes. "My brother will be fine, he always is. He's with Riker. Plus Zane won't go near the place after what happened the last time. He's not stupid."

Jake scoffed from beside me and took some popcorn and placed it in his mouth. "More so with what Lyra did to him last night."

A small smirk crossed my features as I turned to face one of my best friends. "You're just jealous you weren't there to see me kick Zane's ass."

He scoffed and paused the movie none of us paying it any attention. "Of course. I never liked the dude anyway."

"I just can't believe we didn't get to see you race." Sulked Sky. She always loved coming to watch me race. She was one of the most innocent people I knew but for some reason she loved watching me do this stuff.

"It was close I'm not going to lie." I admitted. If it wasn't for Zoe telling me that the bridge was completely up straight when she did I never would've been able to make up the distance.

"You going again next week?" Asked Jake standing up from the seat and stretching.

"Nope." I said popping the P and eating more of the popcorn. "I only did it as a favour for Riker."

"You seem to be doing a lot of things for Riker lately. Something you want to tell us?" Asked Jake as he looked down at me. I could see the curiosity in his eyes but I could also see the amusement even in the darkly lit room.

"Other than he's nothing more than annoying piece of shit who just keeps showing up? No I have nothing to tell."

Jake just rolled his eyes and turned on the lights to the room. "Yea because that's everything." He then glanced at Sky who still had worry written all over her features. "And will you please stop with the freaking out. You are giving me a headache just watching you think."

Sky snapped out of her thoughts and looked at Jake almost like it was for the first time. "I'm not."

I scoffed at her little lie and Jake rolled his eyes again giving her a pointed look.

Sky sighed and stood up as well. "Look I'm just worried alright like I haven't been shot at just once lately but twice and knowing Damon doing what he's doing is just setting me over the edge."

"Why?" I asked giving her a pointed look. I already knew fine righty why but I wanted her to say it herself. "My brother has always been up to this shit. What is so different about it now?"

I watched as Sky's checks turned red and that's all I needed to know. "I'm just worried ok."

"Awk have we moved on from having a crush on Chase to Damon?" I teased. "Should I tell my other brothers to be worried they could be on list?"

She threw the popcorn at me and stormed out her checks completely red in embarrassment. I let out a laugh and watch her storm out. I knew she wasn't properly mad at me. Jake also watched her leave with a chuckle.

"How's she been anyway?" Asked Jake now that Sky had left the room. "She won't tell me what's going on between her and her parents."

I shrugged and leaned back in the seat. "She hasn't really talked about it but I think she's more confused on what to do now. Her whole life she believed she had to be number one but now she can do what she wants and she doesn't know what the hell that is."

Jake nodded understanding. "Yea my parents were talking to her while we were away and telling her if she wanted to join them at her legal firm. She actually looked pretty excited about it."

"She'll work it out." I said and stood up from the seat as well. As I did so though an annoying voice rang out through the room. She was here.

"Lyra!"

"Hide me." I said as I turned to face Jake. He had a cringe on his face at the sound of the voice.

"You're on your own bitch." And with that he ran out of the room completely leaving me here with my mother.

"Lyra dear you'll never guess what happened!"

My mother stood right in front of me and I made sure to keep my face blank as I spoke. "You got a brain?"

She ignored my comment and continued. "Your brother texted me there and said that he would met me for lunch tomorrow."

Now this, this completely caught me off guard. Then I thought about it for a few seconds as my mother excitedly look at me. "Wait which brother?"

"Damon!" Squealed my mother.

Now I officially felt like I was going to have a heart attack. He had to be drunk or completely off his head right now to do that.

"Isn't it so exciting dear!" She squealed again.

"Yea exciting." I said while trailing off at the end. Something wasn't right.

********************************************

Driving my BMW I8 to Anarchy I couldn't wait for answers I needed to see what the hell my brother was up too.

Parking my car on the side of the road I seen that the car valet came over to me to take my keys but I waved him away. I wouldn't be long and I wasn't planning on staying.

Storming up to the bouncer I seen that he put up his hand to stop me from getting in. I could hear the music playing from here. I also noticed that they had redone the outside of the nightclub after the shootout that had happened.

"Back of the line girl." I looked at the bouncer like he was crazy and noticed the line of people glaring at me who were waiting to get in. They had clearly been waiting a while judging from there faces.

"Let me in." I said and made an attempt at getting in again but the bouncer stopped me in my tracks straight away. I looked at him from the corner of my eye.

"Did you not hear me girl."

I turned to face him fully standing at my full height and making sure to stand proud. "My name isn't girl, my name is Lyra Anderson and you better let me the fuck in here before I tell your boss that you refused to let me in."

I could see the confection ok his features as he glanced over me once more. Then he then spoke into the mic he had. "Riker, Lyra Anderson is here. Will I let her in?"

I stood there with an expecting look. If that boy didn't let me in I would actually rain hell on his ass.

The bouncer was quiet for a few seconds before moving the rope out of the way and letting me in. "Enjoy your time Miss Anderson."

I rolled my eyes at his sudden politeness and walked in without even saying thank you. He was a dick anyway for not letting me in as soon as heard my name. I was sure he knew what happened here the last time.

The smell of alcohol and smoke hit me like tons of bricks as soon as I walked in through the doors. I'd never been in a nightclub sober before and I wasn't planning on doing it again. I just wanted to go up to the bar and get myself a drink. The atmosphere was starting to get to me.

Lights were flashing everywhere and people were crowed everywhere. I knew where I needed to go though. Riker would be in the V.I.P room along with my brother.

Looking up I could see I was correct. I could see Riker looking down on his brothers club from the glass window a drink in his hand. Up there he looked like he rolled the world and he probably did.

Pushing and shoving my way through the club a girl had spilled her drink when I shoved her out of the way. Grabbing my wrist I turned to face her but her angry look soon changed when she seen me.

"Sorry Lyra." She said softly and quickly walked away clearly not wanting to stick around. I didn't know who the hell the girl was but it was clear she knew me. I wasn't surprised by that though, loads of people knew who I was. More so when you were surrounded by a bunch of rich kids.

I started my way to the steps again this time people moving out of my way. I seen that Riker had noticed the draw in attention my way and he locked eyes with me. He said something to someone and seen it was my brother who walked up to the window. I could see what he said from here. 'Oh shit.'

The bouncer at the bottom of the steps didn't even stop me from going up them as he quickly moved out of my way. It was clear I was on a mission and he obviously didn't want to be the one to get in my way.

Once I got to the top of the steps I didn't even take in my surroundings as I zeroed in on my twin brother who was still standing by the window.

"Lyra what-"

I didn't let him finish though I pushed him he's against the glass grabbed him by the front of his shirt. His hands were flat again the window not even trying to push me away.

"What the hell are you doing. One second you're yelling at me that you don't want anything to do with our mother the next you are texting her and inviting her out to lunch. Now don't get me wrong the woman annoys me just as much as you but you don't be a dick and lead her on like that thinking she's getting somewhere-"

This time he cut me off. "What the hell are you on about? I didn't invited her anywhere. I don't even think I have the woman's number to text her."

I let go off my brother and stepped back looking at him confused. "What?"

"I didn't invited her anywhere Lyra I swear to god." I could see it in his eyes he was telling the truth. Something wasn't right.

"Then who did?"
