MAUSAM
Mausam shivered from the cold.
With her meager income as a servent in houses
She could only afford
cold dingy apartment,
And no money for socks or slippers.
She sighed.
She simmered the rice.
She wished she could eat dal,
But she had no cooker.
She pushed back the tears of regret , pain and helplessness.
Her life was what it was,
She could not change it.
She was not always subjected to poverty,
Though lonliness has always been her companion.
She was born into a upper middle class family,
And at the age of 18
Married into a really rich family.
Though at that time all she had cared was to be with her love, Reyansh.
She scoffed.
With age and experience
She had found out that
Means to support your life peacefully mattered more than having your love.
Though she did not regret fighting for her love,
She definitely thinks she should have been sensible and accepted her fate as mrs.kapoor and forgot about Reyansh .
The only regret she had was her children.
They were Kapoors.
She had her first child at 19,
Her Aarav.
And her daughter
At the age of 23,
Aaruhi.
In her unhealthy obsession of Reyansh
She had neglected her children.
Maybe that was why
God was punishing her.
She was 35 years old and her son Aarav was 15 today.
So old
Yet so young.
She had tried meeting with him,
But he had denied.
It was right.
Who would want to meet the mother who abandoned her children?
Tears blurred her eyes.
She broke down in sobs.
It hurt her.
A lot.
She wished she could change everything,
She wished she could go back,
She would be a good mother.
She would not want anything else.
Just happiness for her children.
