Today has been exhausting,
First I was tired because of Aarav's party , then in the morning those two had done everything to not go to school , I was still in awe how Mausam had practically tricked them into going , that took some higher level of skills.
Then her break up , I would not lie , I felt light hearted , a sort of joy about it , not that I would tell her , because even though I had Evey right to be happy at her breakup being her husband , I could not tell her 'i am so happy you broke up'.
I cringed imagining the scene.
I shook my head.
" What is wrong with you?" Gaurav asked me with a concerned face.
" What?" I countered feeling irritated that he was interrupting my office time.
My best friend was here today in my office , after returning from states.
" Don't look at me like that , I did not disturb you , you were not working in the first place ." He sassed.
" I was " but he cut me off.
" No , you were not , you were first out with your gold digger wife , then you were thinking of your gold digger wife."
" Careful , I won't hear a word against Mausam."I threatened him.
" That's the thing , bro , you don't wanna hear anything against her , or about her , you should , it would give you the sense to leave her."
" I am not leaving my wife , I have two children."
" The lot of good she does to them"
" She is trying."
He gave me a 'so done' look.
" No , she really is , she helps out with them, she is trying to build a relationship with them. We , Mausam and I talked about it." I did not want to say anything private about us but he was my friend , I had confided in him .
He knew my most shameful secrets.
And I knew his.
His face turned into frown.
" And you trust her?"
My eyes narrowed but I knew he didn't mean any disrespect, he was only worried.
" She seems sincere , and I want aarav and Aruhi to know their mom , they deserve her love." I honestly told him.
His face softend.
" Off course , they deserve love. You too deserve your wife's love."
I stiffened at his reply.
" No , I don't need it. Mausam and mine relationship is not like that. It was a practical arrangement . And I do not expect anything from her. And I do not want her to expect things from me either." I said in a clipped tone , not liking talking about it.
To me , love had no place in my life.
" Look man , I understand that why you feel that way , but ." I stopped him with a glare , he instantly shut up.
" I am just saying because she is not a good person , she like stalked Reyansh Khanna since school , even though he declined her proposal many a times."
" What ?" I shouted , feeling confused.
" What do you mean she stalked him?" I demanded.
" Everyone knows that in our circle , Mausam is crazy about Reyansh , she chases him like an obsessive lover. She tried to harm his girlfriends , that's why she is an outcast."
" Don't you dare try to beesmirch my wife's name. She is Mausam Kapoor , she is not an obsessive stalker." I bit out.
" Bro , that's what everyone knows and thinks , and I don't think they are wrong."
" They are. I know Mausam." I replied with a conviction , Gautam took a step back and looked at me with conflict in his face.
He shrugged.
" I don't know man , I have never personally seen her do things , but others have."
" Want proof do they have? Do you have any proof? " I demanded feeling very angry and warlike.
Who the fuck dared to say those things about her?
" Khanna himself told me." He said , and my eyes narrowed.
" He what?" I was in utter disbelief.
Khanna that spineless bastard was pure cunning evil , if he said those things.
But today he looked , he geniunely looked like he was devastated from their break up!
Was Gaurav right?
Mausam's reputation was bad.
But I had suppressed every rumour about her relationship with Khanna , so nothing was in papers.
But what about our inner circles,
They always talked.
Did they think Mausam was obsessed with Khanna?
And Khanna himself had said that?
What was this even was?
Was Khanna betraying Mausam?
" ARMAAN.armaan! Man!" I was jolted out of my thoughts
" Yes I am hear , don't shout."
" What happened man , you don't look good!"
I looked at gaurav , and I felt like telling him everything, but I could not telling his about my wife's affair , I just could not stomach it , Mausam had not wanted anyone to know.
I smiled at him , " I suddenly feel tired , I am heading home for today , let's meet tomorrow."
