Even after my refusal Armaan bought me chocolote-brownie galetto.

" I told you I am not in mood for ice cream." I said calmly , trying to not fight in front of my kids.

"So can I have it?" Aarav spoke , looking very eager to gobble it down.

" No." I tried to look strict.

" Then me , Mumma?" My little Typhoon Said.

" Nahi, ek ice cream bahut he !" I widened my eyes trying to scare them.

( No, one is enough)

" Okay" they both sheepishly looked at their father.

Armaan's eyes met mine.

He shrugged.

I looked at the cup , it was quite big. I was sure I would finish it all but I did not want to eat too much sweet.

I should not eat so much sweet.

But .

Ahh.

" Alright I am having it." I said at last.

I looked at Armaan but he turned his head away.

Was he smiling just now? I did see him, but he turned away so fast.

I slowly started to eat it. Mostly playing with it.

" Papa pata he aaj bhaiya na mujhe utha diya that sleepy se. Phir Mumma se bhi bhaiya chilla rage the." Arohi babbled to her papa .

( Papa , you know today brother woke me up from my sleep. Then he shouted at Mumma.)

I looked at Aarav and surely he had the look of avenging soldier on his face .

He was not to be stay silent.

" Ha papa aapko pata he aaj isne he nahi Kiya aur dadi se jhagda Kiya isne."

( Papa, you know Ruhi fought with dadi.)

I frowned , she fought with her dadi.

Armaan's eyes met mine.

" What happened?" He asked me.

" Ruhi beta aapne dadi se kyun jhagda kiya? " I asked her.

( Ruhi why did you fight with dadi?)

She looked down and then she looked at Aarav .

Aarva huffed and said," it was not her fault , dadi scolded you so Ruhi fought with dadi."

I was about to tell her to not do that when Armaan said," Ruhi I have told you not to say disrespectful things to elders , right? "

Ruhi nodded.

" And what is disrespectful?" He asked gently.

" Umm, saying dadi is mean , saying dadi should not talk."

I furrowed my brows, did she fight with her dadi often? I had never seen her do that.

I stared at Armaan , he was immersed in disciplining our daughter with his hands on his knees , leaning towards her , his demeanor gentle yet firm , holding our attention captive.

He was so capitivating this way.

" Mausam." His voice startled me.

What what was I thinking?

I felt flustered and speechless all of a sudden.

" Huh " I answered him.

He pursued his lips.

" Should we head home? " He asked me , and looking at Arohi," after a drive?" He smiled at them warmly.

" Yes , that sounds perfect." I said.

" Then finish your ice cream ,Mumma ." Arohi told me scrunching her nose.

I looked at my ice cream.

" I will eat it in the car." Armaan said and stood up , so I just took the cup and grabbed Aarav's hand.

I settled on the passenger seat, the radio started playing,

Agar mein rook gayi Abhi,

Yahi kahoge tum sada ki Dil Abhi bhara nahi

Jo khatam kisi jagah yeh Aisa Silsila nahi

And I turned the volume up.

" Ugh Mumma no ."

"No not this song again."

Arohi and Aarav quickly protested.

" Please , it's my favourite song." I pleased to them and to Armann too, but I only looked at Aarva and Aarohi.

" Aarav , Aarohi , after this you can have your song , okay?" Armaan said.

And they both relectantly agreed.

I felt happy.

I looked gratefully at Armaan but he turned away.

Bura na mano baat ka, yeah pyaar hai gila nahi,

Haan yehi kahoge tum sada,

Ke dil abhi nahi bhara,

Haa dil abhi nahi bhara,

" the ice cream" Armaan said.

" huh" i looed at him balnkly.

"Oho mom , papa ko ice cream  khilao, papa drive akrte nahi kha payenge." Arohi said.

( On mon , you have to feed papa ice cream , since he is driving)

" what?" My eyes widened and i looked at Armanan.

But he only briefly glanced at me coolly and averted his eyes to road.

Oh ! Am i the only one who thinks it's a big deal?

So i spooned some and brought it to his mouth.

" um, Armaan."

His gaze flicked to mine .

It was 1 am when we reached home.

" they have school tomorrow. We should not have stayed out so late . " Armaan complained to me.

" it's fine, we talk till 12 every night anyway." I told him as i got off rhe car.

He was about to sat something when Arohi interrupted him," papa , you sleep with us too. "

" yes , papa , you can tell us stories ." Aarav joined her.

" Nahi beta papa ka kal office Jana he , papa late tak kaam karenge , phir hum jaldi uth jayenge , time match nahi hota na , papa Ko unke kamre me sone do." I tried to convince them, I looked meaningfully at Armaan .

( No baby , papa has to go office tomorrow, he will work till late night, then we will get up early, our timings don't match. Let papa sleep in his own room)

" Um yes , baby " he weakly protested.

" But papa you wake up early with us , AAP hi to Roz Hume school chhodne aate ho." Aarav argued.

( Papa you drop us off at school)

" Ha per papa Ko Raat Ko kaam bhi to Hena." I said , hoping Armaan would firmly refuse them.

( Yes but dad have work too)

" Per papa AAP hi to kehte ho jaldi so Jana chahiye! Ab to dekho kitni Raat ho gayi he , ab AAP office ka kaam karoge?" Aarav was not the one to lose any arguements.

( But papa you say you should go to bed early! Now see you are not sleeping early , now you will do office work?)

" Ha papa please." And Arohi looked at him with puppy eyes.

She started having tears !!

" Ok ok bachchha , rote nahi, papa aapko story sunayenge ok?" Armaan tried to console her , squeezing her face and urging her not to cry.

( Ok baby , don't cry, papa will tell you story okay?)

" Aur Mumma bhi mujhe cuddle karegi na?" Arohi turned to me.

( And Mumma you will cuddle with me?)

" Mumma , mere safe friends Apne papa mummy ke saath hi sote he Raat Ko!!" She said looking at me and Armaan pleadingly.

( Mumma , all my friends sleep with their parents)

I looked at Armaan ,and then nodded.
