„Will you tell me your name, sweetie? Or do I have to keep teasing your little friend down there?".

A switch suddenly flipped in my head and I propped myself up on my forearms. „Look at him. He's logging for attention.". She nodded down to my half erected dick.

„Who are you?", my facial expression darkened by a second.

The girl furrowed her eyebrows. „What do you mean? I'm this Hyeo, or something.".

„The fuck you are!". I hissed and sat up immediately. „Get out! Now!", I closed the button of my jeans.

She was staring at me in confusion. „You are such a weirdo.". After those words, she left my room and slammed the door shut, causing my football trophy to crash on the floor with full force.

„Fucking shit.", I whispered and buried my hand in my hair. My head was buzzing as if a truck had run over it. What the heck was wrong with me? How did it get to the point where I almost had sex with a complete stranger slut. I could swear I saw Hyeona standing in front of me the whole time. Her soft hands, moving down my chest and her light kisses on my skin. How she turned me on with her sweet voice.

Was this all just in my imagination?

I leaned against the headboard of my bed. The loud party music The loud party music was blaring in my ears, as well as the laughing and screaming of my friends outside. They were having the time of their lives, probably lying around in corners, completely drugged up.

This is so messed up.

It's been almost three months since Hyeona left, and no matter how hard I try, I can't get her out of my head. Not a day goes by that I don't think about how surprised she looked with her cute smile, when she saw me for the first time after her return, how she drunkenly ran away from me that night from Jay's party and I lent her my jacket in the end. How she fell asleep on my shoulder when we watched the sunset on that rooftop.

Not a day goes by that I don't want to hold her in my arms and say how much I miss her. But instead, we are left only with the phone calls that don't make my longing any better.

[Hyeona POV]

I applied the final layer of my lip gloss carefully, and looked at my dressed up mirror reflection with satisfaction. I haven't looked as clean and neatly as I did today for a long time. I can't even remember the last time I wore some lipstick.

Wearing a black cocktail dress and matching purse, I entered the room of my friend, who smudged her eyeliner in shock.

"Are you kidding me? I've been sitting on this forever," she complained, grabbing a cotton swab to fix the mess. „Why are you looking like that?", she only realized at second glance that I wasn't sitting on her bed in my pastel pink sweatpants, as usual.

"I'm joining you to the party", I announced.

Kathy raised her eyebrows. „All of a sudden? Just now, you were sitting on the sofa like a pile of eggs, eating a bar of chocolate.".

„What Heeseung can do, I can do too.".

„Hyeo, don't make it worse. Show him you are the mature one.", She shook her head, anticipating that something would happen.

But I stuck firmly to my plan. "I'm going to pick up guys today. At least one, maybe more.".

„Why don't you just call him first, before you are overreacting again?"

„Overreacting?", I repeated, confused. „You told me to listen to my heart, and my heart tells me I want to break his too."

„Please. Be reasonable for once.", she begged me. „I don't wanna interfere in your relationship, but think about it carefully.".

I squinted my eyes. „Uhm no. Request rejected.", I joked. „Today I wanna pick up someone.".

Kathy sighed. „Okay fine. At least I tried.".

**

The party Siu was invited to, was held at Kits Beach, right at Vancouver's coastline. When we arrived, there were already a few people spread over an area about the size of a soccer field, swaying comfortably back and forth to the beat of the music. Among others, a few friends of Kathy, whom I could still dimly remember.

Quite centrally, a large bonfire was lit by some men and garlands of red, pink and white lanterns hung around the entire beach area. Three or four large bars were set up, behind each one stood three people who served the greedy guests their drinks.

The atmosphere was quite cozy.

The last beach party I went to was 2 years ago. Accordingly, I had completely forgotten how freeing it felt, in contrast to an oppressively narrow, stuffy party basement.

Since I was a bit overwhelmed because of the crowds, I trudged after my friend through the soft sand. She apparently had a precise plan of where she was going.

"Do you still remember Rebecca?" she asked me suddenly.

I squeezed my eyes shut thoughtfully. Was that the one with the red, or purple dyed hair? "She was dancing drunk on this air mattress in the pool at my birthday, and she fell so stupidly that we had to call 911. Remember?".

"The pool splash story! Right!", I laughed as the memories popped into my head. "Gosh, that was so funny.".

"Here's the guilty party.", Kathy walked up behind a group of three people who were talking and tapped one of them on the shoulder. "Right, Becca?".

She was startled and almost choked on the drink she was holding. "Are you serious? I almost spilled that shit on my dress.". She complained and took a step aside to make room in the circle for her friend.

Suddenly, a hand on my shoulder pulled me close into the circle. "This, guys, is Hyeona. Do you remember her?".

"The exchange student," the tall, dark-haired boy pointed at me with a surprised laugh.

"Hi everyone, its me again.". I introduced myself vaguely, because I was sure I had already met all three of them.

"This is really a premiere," Kathy suddenly began to build up the tension. "I was able to convince Hyeo to come to a party for the first time today. IN THREE YEARS?".

"THREE YEARS?" repeated the third, whose name I couldn't remember, shocked.

I shook my head slightly. "That's actually a lie. I was at a party in Korea, too, and besides, I decided to come myself," I justified, but no one seemed to listen to me.

"You know. Her goal is to pick up some guys," Kathy revealed my plan, and I looked at her indignantly.

Immediately, the slightly shorter guy stood up in front of me. "Okay, okay. Listen girl. I will help you. What's your goal?". "My...goal?". I repeated questioningly.

"Yes, goal!", he nodded and wrapped one arm around my neck, making me turn. "Like your intention? Guy for one night, short flirt, love of your life?".

"Oh...uhm. I don't know.".

"She wants to make her boyfriend jealous, because he cheated on her.", answered Kathy instead of me. "KATH?!", I shut her off immediately.

"Oh damn.", Rebecca disgustedly contorted her face. "Are you okay?".

But before I could answer, the guy next to me interrupted me. "Okay, in that case, here's what I recommend.". He pointed to a guy at the other end of the beach. Around his neck he wore a colorful flower necklace, a Hawaiian shirt, beach shorts and flip flops. Exactly the opposite of how I looked right now, and was surrounded by girls, who obviously all want to hit on him.

"This is Logan. A dream of a man. Super popular. Tall, athletic, and an amaaaazing body. Trust me, he's perfect for making people jealous.".

"Okayy??", I answered hesitantly.

"He's gay.", said the taller guy next to Rebecca, who looked very familiar. "

"Logan?", I asked.

"No, not Logan. Me!" the little guy rolled his eyes in annoyance, demonstratively showing his buddy that he was annoyed. "Never mind. Then there's David up ahead.", his finger wandered a little to the left. "He's more of the quiet type. But super cute. Definitely an option for the love of your life selection."

"Can you please leave the poor thing alone?", Rebecca rasped into the conversation and took me under her protection. "You're going crazy with all your chatter. I'm going to get drinks for all of us.". She announced and pushed her way out of the circle towards the bar, where already crowds of people standing in front of it waiting for their drinks.

The hours passed quickly and even though I promised myself to stop after the next drink, Nevertheless, one after the other was pushed into my hand, so that I had stopped counting after the 8th drink.

I was just chatting with Kathy and a nice girl she introduced me to. She consistently complimented me on my soft hair, when my phone rang in my shoulder bag. If it hadn't been on full volume, I probably wouldn't have even noticed, because the noise level here was really more than sick due to the ten huge bluethooth boxes.

A bit clumsy, I fiddled with the buckle of my bag, and it took me forever to finally open it. It surprised me that the person had not yet hung up again.

I took a quick look at the display and immediately slid my phone back into my pocket when I recognized Heeseung's name and profile picture on it.

"No way girl!", Kathy immediately ripped open my bag again and grabbed my phone. "Either you talk to him right now and tell him what you think, or I will. And you don't want the second thing to happen, believe me!".

The phone suddenly stopped ringing, and the screen changed back to black. "Call him back".

"Why would I do that? I don't want to talk to him," I complained.

"And you won't have to it again, if you do the right thing now. So go ahead.".

Just at that moment, my cell phone started ringing again. "He's not going to give up anyway.".

I sighed and walked a little away from the party, so that I could get away from this deafeningly loud music.
