Why was everyone here wearing like casual clothes?!
I stood there in shock with my heels, crop top and mini skirt, which barely covered my butt, and the only thing I wanted to do in this second was to leave everything behind and go. I almost did, if not from behind out of nowhere an arm wrapped around my shoulder.
"Hyeona! Damn! I didn't expect to see you here..." Beomgyu shouted loudly to drown out the music. "To be honest, I don't know what I'm doing here either...", I stuttered and tried to free myself from his grip. "I was just about to leave anyway.".
But I wasn't even sure if he understood what I said, because the next thing I knew is Beomgyu pulling me along with him, straight towards the entrance.
"Gyu wait! I can't go in there like this!". I intentionally leaned back to resist his pull. He reached to his left and suddenly handed me a red cup as well. "No one will care what you're wearing.". My fingers clenched around the fabric of my dress, pulling it down a little, when a person bumped into me from behind.
That's the second I realized I was surrounded by probably hundreds of people and felt even more intimidated. "We'll get you a drink that your tense ass can loosen up.", he suggested and nodded towards the kitchen where a lot of drinks were messily placed around the many counters. "Look! There's Jay. You can congratulate him right now.".
Almost as if he'd heard Beomgyu speaking, our eyes met not even a moment later. A sloppy smirk flitted across his face as he pushed past the people. "Little Park!", he exclaimed delightedly, probably not even a bit surprised that I showed up uninvited at his party. "Holy...!", the grin widened a bit more as his eyes obviously scanned me from top to bottom. "You know that you can dress like normal people while showing up to someones party?".
"Thanks for telling me. I almost didn't notice.", I answered wryly. "Uhm...would you like to drink something?", he asked. "A gin tonic maybe?". I suggested while following him through the crowd. "Happy Birthday by the way.". Jay rised his eyebrows with a smile while pouring me my drink.
My eyes swept searchingly through the dancing people. "Are you looking for someone?". Jay asked as he noticed my strained expression. "Sunghoon is around here somewhere, by any chance?".
"He doesn't know you're here, right?". I turned my head back. "I saw him hanging around with some other dudes I dont know. So he's here somewhere. But don't ask me.". You could tell that he was having a hard time to keep his eyes by himself, and of course I noticed it.
"You could lend me a hoodie of yours, so you don't have to stare at me like that." I said with a smirk. "You want my hoodie?", he peeked up at me. I slid closer to the counter and placed my hands around the edge. "Well, I wouldn't say no, though.". Jay replied with a smirk too. "You know...we can go upstairs to my room, so you can pick one.".
We both kept staring at each other for a few seconds, until a strong grip suddenly pulled me harshly along with him, almost making me trip over my own feet. I was about to complain to the person, as he stopped in a more silent corner of the house, and I ended up crushing straight into his shoulder. "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE?". Shit Sunghoon... "And why are you dressed like that?? Like, aren't this even mom's heels?". He tried to spin me around to check for the label on the shoe sole, but I managed to free myself from his grasp.
"What the fuck Sunghoon. Don't piss me off and mind your own stuff.", I pushed him back a little. "My little sister is running around like a slut, and you think that's none of my business? I have an image to lose, you know?"
"Almost NONE of the people out there knows me. So what image are you talking about huh?". I huffed, not lettin' him speak a second. "Like, when you're so concerned about me wearing a dress like that, how about getting rid of your fuckboy status yourself, before complaining about someone else.".
"Hoon, you're alright?", three more people walked around the corner, stopping in their tracks as they noticed us arguing.
"Hyeo!", Jake took a big sip from his cup as he noticed me. "Who allowed you to look that hot?", you could definitely tell he wasn't fully sober anymore. My gaze shifted over to Heeseung and Jay, who was still holding my drink in his hand.
"Go, change!", Sunghoon demanded, this time without elaborating on Jake's statement.
But I shook my hand, and reached for my drink in Jay's hand. "I wont. I'm not gonna stay here for long anyway.". I'm sure my brother would have freaked out if Jake hadn't guided him away, back to the crowded area.
"I thought you're having a bad relationship with alcohol.". Heeseung smirked, nodding at my cup while I took a sip. "Yeah, when I drink too much."
"You wanna come along to our group?", asked Jay, and his head turned around to the other side of the room. A few people were sitting on the sofa around a glass coffee table.
I agreed, because as I said before, I really don't know any of these people.
As we got closer, I even recognized a few familiar faces. Beomgyu with a girl on his lap, chatting to the person next to him. All in all, the rate of boys and girls was very balanced, to my surprise.
My brother and jake had also taken a seat on the large, gray sofa, and he looked at me venomously when Jay offered me a seat as well.
It was obviously not a good idea to wear this dress, because it bordered on mission impossible to sit down properly with it.
"Hoon! Why didn't you ever tell us your sister was such a hottie?" a boy suddenly shouted from another corner. Uhmm? Probably because I haven't been to Korea in three years? Just kidding.
I turned my head to the stranger with a smile, who just gave me a wink. It really felt surreal. In the US, I never had the feeling of being noticed by my fellow human beings, and here, all of a sudden, boom!
Well, probably only because of my brother, anyway.
I hardly noticed how the sofa lowered again and Heeseung took a seat next to me, and Jay in turn sat down next to him.
"What about your chosen one, Sunghoon?" Jay asked with a grin. "Is she about to come?"
Chosen one, what!?
"Shut the fuck up, bro. Yoojung is just a bitch from my college class.".
"You used to fuck her about three times now, how can she not be dependent on you?" asked Beomgyu. "For real. If I were her, I'd have such a crush on you." laughed the girl on his lap.
I squinted my eyes. It's nothing new that my brother is one of the most disgusting people on earth.
The boys' reactions to her statement were all similar. They just didn't seem to understand that girls can fall head over heels in love over little things. "Hyeona, its true right?", she now addressed me laughing, since none of the others boys probably had understanding for it. "So if Sunghoon weren't my brother, I definitely wouldn't date him AT ALL! Any other guy? I don't know. But I can absolutely understand this Yujun in that point.".
A lot of cheers and laughing groans spread across the room, while Sunghoon seemed like the favorite thing he was about to do was to kick me out.
"Jay! Can't you just kick her out, please?", he asked, obviously annoyed as hell. But he shook his head with a laugh. "I think Hyeo should know what kind of fuckboy she's living with.".
"Oh this... That's nothing new.". I declined. "We even heard them the evening from the pool party, right.", my head turned over to Heeseung. "Our ears were bleeding like hell.". Heeseung answered with a smirk, shifting a little in his seat to sit a little more manspread.
"You two disappeared for like 15 minutes and I had to take care of the whole bar on my own.", exposed Beomgyu and I realized what he was about to say with his.
"I cut myself on a glass and Hee helped me.", I explained. "We didn't do...like...anything else.". I felt my face flush within a few seconds. So I grabbed my drink and took a very big sip to cover it. "Aww why are you all shy now, Hyeona?.", Jake laughed, making Heeseung glance over at me.
I peered from the corner of my eye at my brother. He was looking at me like I'm insane, like he didn't seem to have properly processed what had been said.
"Guys! This calls for a round of "never have I ever". The girl on Beomguy's lap suddenly suggested, and everyone seemed hyped for it.
But I quickly shook my hands in front of my body. "Uhm I think I'm gonna pass.",
"What are you scared of, Park?", yelled Jay while pouring my drink again with god knows what alcohol standing in front of him. "We can turn around your brother's seat.", he laughed, wiggling his eyebrows at him.
"She won't play along!". Sunghoon pierced his older friend angrily. "Okay, come down bro...", Jay tried to calm him and finally gave in. "Hyeona can watch.".
The girl pulled out her smartphone. "Okay guys. First question.". She raised her eyebrows and playfully glanced at the group.
Jake in the meantime filled a bunch of shot glasses in the middle of the table.
"So..Never have I ever gotten a hickey!", she read out loud. "Let's start easy.".
Everyone drunk.
I shifted in my seat, feeling pretty uncomfortable, since I was the only one who did not participate.
"Okay. Pretty basic. "Never have I ever creeped an ex on social media!".
All the boys seemed confused since the girl was the only one drinking. "It's a girl's thing i think.", I burred out because I've definitely done it before.
"Never have I ever sent someone a naughty pic!".
I suddenly felt this tingling in my belly, which almost drove me crazy. I just don't want to keep that stupid innocent image everyone has of me. So I leaned forward, grabbed one of the shots and downed it at once.
Everyone was shocked about my quick decision to join the game. "Sunghoon, I swear if you're telling mom one thing about this, I'm gonna kill you.", I warned him and everyone enjoyed my sudden courage boost.
"Yeah! If you're gonna decide to be the buzzkill now, I'll help her.", the girl agreed. I really started liking her, even if I still didn't know her name.
My brother finally seemed to realize he couldn't control me any longer and shut his mouth after my statement.
"Things are gettin' excited now! Never have I ever kissed my best friend!".
Immediately all eyes darted me.
"What the hell, I never kissed Jungwon. I've told you a hundred times.", I rolled my eyes in annoyance.
"Come on Hyeo...", Jay raised his eyebrows with a smirk. "He isn't here today. You can tell us.".
No matter how many times you want me to say it, they just didn't seem to get it. "Is it so unlikely that a normal friendship can exist between a boy and a girl? Jake shook his head. "Sure it's possible, but between Jungwon and you...there's something sizzling.".
"It's not!".
"Wasn't there that play?" objected Heeseung suddenly. "In elementary school, remember? You were Juliet, and he was Romeo," he grinned.
I turned my head toward him and met his gaze. "We were kids...".
"But it was still a kiss.".
"It was a FAKE kiss!
"I was sitting in the front row. I know what I saw," he laughed.
"You think you know what I was doing then better than I do?", I laughed out. "It was fake.".
"I don't believe you.".
"Fine...". I reached forward to grab another shot glass and swallowed while staring into his eyes. "Satisfied?".
The others around us just cheered and laughed like crazy, but I blanked it out. I was worried about how Hee could make me take that shot when I had actually never kissed Jungwon.
"Woah this tension!" the girl gushed, looking back and forth between me and Heeseung. "It's intense.".
A little intimidated, I put my shot glass down on the table and sat back on the couch properly, hands buried in my lap.
"There's no tension at all. What the hell are you talking about, Siu?", Sunghoon pointed out.
Of course, he had to start a fight again. But at least now I know the name of the girl. And the bad thing was, she was right. I still had an accelerated pulse because of what had happened about 30 seconds ago.
I looked over at Hee and noticed his eyes extremely fixated on the people moving around in the background, obviously piercing one specific person. My eyes inconspicuously followed his gaze and caught on a blonde-haired girl who was pushing her way through the crowd.
