Beomgyu shifted in his seat. "What the fuck! No one did!". I turned to Siu laughing. "Exactly, no one!"
"You're telling me this is a normal state of affairs? She was perfectly fine until two minutes ago!".
Siu looked at the empty seat next to Jake. "Where is Sunghoon?".
Immediately, quiet laughter broke out in the group, and Siu seemed to immediately understand the meaning behind it. "Okay. I don't want to know..."
"Jake...why is your hair so pretty?", I giggled as I bent over and played with a strand on his forehead. I was still pressed against the sofa by Siu to steady myself. "Can't we keep her in this state? I kinda like it.". He replied with a grin.
"So what are we going to do now? Should we call her mother?" the girl asked.
Beomgyu suddenly nodded to Heeseung. "Hee, why don't you go upstairs and get Sunghoon?". The latter only raised his eyebrows. "Why don't you do it?". "Because you're his best friend...".
Oh, I might not be the most sober person here anymore, but even my drunk ass knows that Sunghoon is about to kill me, if he saw me like this.
"GUYS?! Can you please shut up? I really can't keep her up much longer!". Siu was propping me up with one hand around my neck, obviously struggling because of my buzzy body. "We should get her home!", she said.
"Taxi or calling her mom?", Jay asked. "It's nearly 3 a.m of course we won't call her mom!", Jake objected.
The couch creaked as Heeseung got up from his seat with a sigh and went over to support Siu. "I will walk her home.", he said, as the girl finally loosened her grip.
Like in a daze, I rested my head back against his shoulder. "Who are you?". I asked in a chuckle, not having any idea who I was surrounded by. "Santa, you know.", I heard a low voice nearby my left ear, causing a smirk to spread across my face.
"I'll come with you", objected Siu suddenly and reached for my hands, but I quickly shook them off. "Nahhh! I think Santa and I can handle it.". I pouted.
"Handle what? You are completely drunk or stoned or whatever.", the older girl grumbled at me. "You can't even walk a straight line without collapsing.".
You could tell she was really upset and concerned. "Siu.", Heeseung addressed her. "Don't worry. Stay here with your friends. I'll take Hyeona home, I'm not doing that well anyway.". Her expressions softened and finally she nodded briefly. "Okay, but please tell me if anything happens or you need some help.", she glimpsed at me.
"Of course.", he smiled slightly before pulling me around and shoving my body towards the opened front door.
I gasped and stopped in my tracks when we reached the street in front of Jay's house. "Wait, you don't have a sled?". My smirk dropped in disappointment.
"Sled?", the boy asked in a laugh.
"Yeah! With reindeer and stuff.", I huffed like a little child.
Heeseung almost lost it completely, while he used his hands pushing my confused body along the sidewalk. "Are you kidding me, Hyeo?".
I glared up into the sky and in the next second at the top of the next passing house. "No snow?"
"It's summer.", Heeseung answered. "My gosh, how much did you drink?".
My feet blocked while thinking for an answer, Heeseung almost pushing me over. "One or two, maybe three.". I lifted eight fingers in the air and sighed. "I don't wanna walk any longer.", I pouted. "My legs hurt.".
The next thing I knew was I dropped into the grass next to the sidewalk out of nowhere with a laugh, rolling around on my back.
"Hyeona, come on.", I heard the boy speaking, and faced the tall figure in front of me. I squinted my eyes to pass my blurry vision. "Wait, you aren't Santa!". I noticed his dark hair, one strand falling across his forehead.
He stepped into the grass as well and offered me his hand. "Obviously not...". Heeseung helped me back onto my feet.
"Why did you say so then.", I pushed his shoulders back with pouty lips.
"Damn you are so drunk, Hyeo."
"No, I'm fine!". I defended myself, almost tripping over my own legs and falling down again.
So we kept on walking quietly next to each other on the sidewalk. Since it was already very late and our village wasn't that crowded in general, we didn't meet any other people on our way.
"You won't tell Sunghoon, right?", I asked the boy.
"I mean, I won't. But I'm sure the others will tell him what happened.", he giggled.
"You are Heeseung, right?", I questionably eyed the tall boy next to me. "Huh?! You mean you didn't recognize me until right now?".
I chewed on my lower lip while using one hand to ventilate my skin under Siu's thick sweater. "It's so fucking hot.". I ignored his question."Siu is your friend? She lent me all this clothes, you know.".
"Yeah. You entered the party with different stuff.", He glared down at me, since my walk got a lot slower again.
"She is such an angle! Why don't you start dating her, Hee?"
Heeseung buried his hands in his pockets, while lowering his head with a smirk. "Well, why don't you start dating Jungwon?", he shot back. My face contorted. "Eww, NO!", I started pushing the older one from behind. "I would never start dating him, okay! I love Wonie, but just as a best friend.".
"See?". Heeseung raised his eyebrows. "Exactly the same for me.".
A grin flitted across my face. "Lucky me."
"Lucky you?", he repeated my words in surprise.
"I like you!", I answered proudly. The boy raised his eyebrows in surprise. "You do?", a chuckle escaped his lips.
A sudden rush of adrenaline rushed through my body, which is why i suddenly started running down the street. Well, at least I tried my best without crashing into the neared tree. Heeseung was confused as hell, but quickly caught up with me because of my wobbly legs. At the end of the road, at an intersection, I came to a stop, breathing heavily. I fumbled with the hem of my hoodie before wriggling out through the head opening.
I sighed in relief as my sweaty skin finally met the fresh summer-night air. Holding the hoodie on one sleeve, the other one dragging on the floor behind me.
"Put your hoodie back on!", I heard Heeseung yelling at me, as he stepped closer. "But I'm so hot.", I turned around to face him, whining.
He sighed and grabbed the sweater from my hand. "Please. Everyone can see your bra.".
"So what?" I giggled.
"You will catch a cold!". Heeseung placed Siu's sweater over his arm as he slipped out of his college jacket. But as he was looking for me, I've already started walking again. The boy hurried after me quickly. "Wear this. I don't wanna explain to your mom, why you are sick tomorrow.". He wrapped his jacked around my bare shoulders, making sure it won't fall off any second.
I barely noticed it, since the next thing I saw, was our house, with the brightly illuminated front door. Automatically, my steps quickened. "Is my mom still awake? I don't have a key.". I asked the boy.
Heeseung smirked, while he sneaked around the house and pulled out another key under one of the bushes.
"WHAT? WHERE DO YOU KNOW?", I was confused because even I did not know about this hiding place.
"Hoon and me having secrets as well, you know.". He said, while stepping closer to the front door. "Be quiet and don't wake your mom, okay?". The door slowly opened after he pulled the key out of the locker. "And call me if something happens, or you're suddenly not feeling well or something.".
I nodded as he stepped back and faced me. I glared at him with big round eyes, not willing to leave. I felt his hands brushing along the hem of the jacket he had slipped over me and slowly began buttoning it up from the bottom.
As he reached the last button, he locked his eyes with mine. "Take care, okay?". He removed his hands from the fabric and moved back. But my hand surprisingly grabbed his forearm, to stop him in his tracks.
âHee..."
I started, but cut myself off, as we made eye contact once again.
âYou should go inside. Get some sleep.", Heeseung nodded towards the entrance with a slight smile. I lowered my head and agreed, slowly passing him and closed my door after I glared out a very last time.
He shook his head in a chuckle while he left our property.
