He paused.
"But how does any of that explain why and how I got thrown out of my bed and chilled to the bone with icy water? And why was Arkie furious to the point that he considered roasting me? How did the pool water land in my room, Ix?â

The pixie looked sorry. âIt was a prank.â
âWell, next time, please avoid pranking a bad-tempered fully grown dragon, will you?â She nodded. Then she tried to bring the topic back to Vinyl.
âIsnât there anything we can do?â she asked.
Magenta sighed. âWe should just give her space and let her process. For someone like her, this place is as bad as it gets.â
Ixia suddenly looked concerned. âDo you think she might become a Paradiser?â
Magenta paused to think. âNo chance,â he said finally. âSheâd try to wreck the place and burn everything to the ground before she became one of these people.â
The pixie smiled.
"By the way, I was dreaming of you..." said Magenta, blushing slightly.
"And then you barked?"
"Another word and you shall receive a just punishment."
"Promise?"
He stood there grinning.
