Walter glanced at her, turned around, and left with a heavy expression on his face!

When Walter returned to the event hall, he realized that Jocelyn had already left. Jordan glanced at him in annoyance. “Where did you go? You didn’t pick up your phone either. I’ve been looking for you outside for such a long time!” Walter said expressionlessly, “Something came up!”

One of the juniors had a starry gaze in her eyes. “Senior, Jocelyn’s boyfriend is extremely handsome! He has an excellent aura as well. Jordan cast a worried glance at him. He did not say anything either. Jocelyn and Lexie came to the venue hall of the alumni event in Lexie’s car.

Skyler came over to fetch Jocelyn in her Volkswagen Polo. Lexie did not drink either. She then drove home herself.

Jocelyn glanced at the car. She then looked at Skyler in shock. Skyler explained. “I drove your car when I went to the bar!”

Jocelyn nodded to indicate that she understood.

The butler had prepared an extra for all the cars in Villa No.1 for Oliver. That included Jocelyn’s Volkswagen Polo.

Both of them got into the car. The chauffeur, Oliver, started the car.

Oliver was Skyler’s personal chauffeur. However, Skyler usually drove his own car to the office and back.

Oliver only drove when Skyler had a busy schedule or when he was feeling extremely tired. Oliver usually listened to Yale’s orders and helped Skyler to handle some miscellaneous tasks.

The car drove in the direction of Villa No. 1 under the street lights. Jocelyn remained silent for a while.

She then thanked Skyler. “Mr. Moore, thank you for tonight!”

It was dark in the car. Skyler was leaning against the back seat as he pretended to take a nap. He opened his eyes as a dark expression appeared on his face after he heard what Jocelyn said. He spoke in a heavy tone, “You don’t need to thank me!” Jocelyn pursed her lips and said, “I still need to thank you.

You had to come so far away just to fetch me because of my alumni gathering!”

Quintus Hotel was nearly half the distance further away from Villa No.1 as compared to Vintage Bar.

Jocelyn was extremely courteous toward him. Skyler felt mixed emotions. It was dark in the car, so he could look at Jocelyn however he wished to. He did not need to worry about her finding out about him.

After some time, he spoke up, “Jocelyn, we’re married. Even if I’m acting, I have the greatest right to be there among everyone. Similarly, I’ll let you know if I have such needs!”

Jocelyn instantly understood what Skyler meant. She immediately nodded and said, “Yes, you can ask for help if you need it any time. I’ll definitely try my best to help you out!”

Skyler remained silent. He turned around and looked outside the car window. He then smiled self-

mockingly.

Jocelyn received a notification on her phone. Jocelyn lowered her head and realized that Walter had sent her a text. Everyone had added each other’s contacts on WhatsApp as soon as the alumni gathering had begun. Although Jocelyn did not really feel like adding Walter’s contact, she had no choice but to do so in such a situation.

Walter: (Jo, why did you leave?]

Jocelyn: (My boyfriend came over to fetch me!] Walter: (Yes, I heard about it from the others. I’ll be staying in Mauve city in the future. Let’s keep in touch!)

Jocelyn: (Yes, let’s see!]

Skyler suddenly turned over to cast a glance at her. He asked, “Who are you texting?”

Jocelyn told him the truth. “It’s one of my seniors. He went out when you went over just now. He was asking me why I left all of a sudden!” Skyler did not say anything after hearing what she said. Jocelyn kept her phone and muted it. She ignored her phone when she noticed her screen light up.

After a while, Skyler’s phone rang again. Skyler picked up his phone slowly and glanced at the caller ID before accepting the call. “Hello, what is it?” Skyler spoke in a calm and emotionless voice. A man’s clear voice rang out from the other end of the call. “The lobby manager told me that you visited the hotel just now?”

Skyler was momentarily stunned as he recalled something. “Yes, I went over to fetch a friend!”

“Right, Skyler, you’re an adult now. You should consider getting married. Yesterday, mother asked me what happened to you and Josie. Why did Josie suddenly leave the country? Previously, didn’t you mention that both of you were about to get married? What happened?” Skyler said calmly, “I’ve broken up with her!” Jocelyn glanced at Skyler instinctively. She withdrew her gaze at once when she noticed that Skyler was also looking at her. “You’ve been together for a few years. Why did you break up?” The man on the other side of the call sounded extremely shocked.

Skyler did not expect his mother to be worrying about these things behind his back. He frowned and said, “Ask her not to do such things anymore. I already have a girlfriend!”
