Mia did as usual after a sleepover with Angela. Steal her sweater, take her father's slippers. And go get the newspaper for Paul. They had been friends since childhood. And even though Angela would never admit it, they were practically best friends. And Mia was almost her only friend.
She was one of the people Angela trusted the most, because she had known her before she left for her mother. During all middle school.
So that morning, Lottie when she was waiting outside the door, Mia opened it.
And she didn't like it. She didn't like it at all. Because she was in Angela's sweater, and apparently had spent the night at her house. And just thinking about it made her feel jealous.
"Hi Lottie." She said simply picking up the newspaper. "Angela is eating, do you want to come in ?"
"Sure." She said simply as she walked inside.
Mia sat down next to her at the counter and quickly wolfed down her cereal.
Angela looked up from the phone as she swallowed her last toast. "Blue doesn't suit you."
The brunette next to her snored and wiped the milk around her mouth.
"Mia slept here. Can she come with me this morning ?" She raised an eyebrow as she got up to put her plate in the sink.
"Yeah. No problem." She gritted between her teeth as she picked up Angela's bag that was lying on the floor.
Mia got up too and swapped the slippers for shoes and grabbed her bag.
Alfred frowned in surprise as Lottie followed Angela and another unknown girl carrying their bags to the car.
"Are you going to sulk the whole ride ?" The blonde asked, noticing Lottie's disgruntled look once the car started.
"I'm not sulking." She shook her head, avoiding her gaze.
"She is." Mia muttered, rolling her eyes.
"Nobody asked you Mia." She spat as she crossed her arms to create a barrier between Angela and her.
Angela looked back and forth between Lottie and Mia. She could feel an invisible tension in the air causing her eyebrows to rise.
"So you don't want to talk to me anymore ?" She asked suspiciously, looking at Lottie, only able to see her clenched jaw.
She sighed dropping her shoulders and remained silent.
"Fine." Angela groans before turning to Mia. "So which one do you choose ? Aloe vera or cherry ?"
"Cherry. It's the best choice."
"I'll put on the aloe vera one then."
----------
"Why are you so grumpy ?"
Angela really wondered what put the girl in such a state. She had never seen her so upset.
Lottie had spent the day grumbling under her breath. Cursing every time Mia appeared in her line of sight with Angela's sweater on her.
She categorically refused to speak to the blonde. Answering her only dryly, and avoiding her gaze.
"I'm not grumpy." She snapped as she moved faster down the halls.
Angela sighed before following her and grabbing her arm. "Go slower then. What's wrong with you ?"
"What's wrong with me ?" She opened her eyes wide in disbelief.
"Yeah, you've been acting weird since this morning." Angela replied pinching her arm.
"Ow !" She exclaimed pushing her arm away.
"That was for ignoring me when I asked you which nails you would like the most." She hissed, catching her by the upper arm before dragging her into the bathrooms.
She pushed Lottie inside and locked the door before turning to her.
"I warn you if you don't tell me right away what's wrong. I'm not coming to watch you at practice." She says point-blank, pointing at her.
Lottie sighed, running a hand through her bangs.
"Matthews I swear to god-"
"I don't like that Mia is wearing your sweater." She mumbled, fiddling her fingers.
"I'm sorry-" She snored with a smile that was way too big on her lips. "What ?"
"It's not funny. Angela you don't want to wear my jacket but she has the right to wear your sweater ?-"
"If I put that damn jacket on, will you stop sulking ?"
Lottie bit her lip trying to suppress her smile. "Maybe."
"Okay fine. Give it to me then." She sighed, holding out her hand.
She didn't wait any longer and took off her big blue and yellow jacket to give it to Angela.
She grabbed it and put it on with a sigh. "You're really annoying."
"It suits you." She smiled widely as she ran her hands behind her hair so it wouldn't get caught in the jacket.
"It's way too big." Angela rolled her eyes.
"Way too big suits you then."
----------
"Do you want to come over to my house tonight ?" Mia offered as she ate her salad.
"She can't."
Angela frowned and looked at Lottie.
"She spends the weekend with me." She said harshly to Mia biting into her apple. "Including tonight."
"Huh no I don't-" Angela cut herself off because of the pressure of Lottie's thumb in her inner thigh.
She felt the heat invading her ears, it was totally different to feel the girl's touch, when she had no control of it.
"She doesn't seem to agree." Mia retorted, looking at Lottie in the eye.
"She just forgot it for a moment." She hissed, tightening her grip on the blonde's thigh.
Angela suppressed a whimper of surprise as she crushed her package of crisps in her hands.
"Is that true ?" Her friend turned to her with raised eyebrows.
She nodded briskly in response, putting her hand over Lottie's to stop her.
Mia wrinkled her nose and continued to eat silently still in doubt.
Lottie moved her hand higher and the blonde immediately closed her legs. She tilted her head with her eyes wide open, looking at Lottie with a murderous gaze.
-----------
"Why are you dress like that ?" Angela asked at the sight of Lottie's outfit.
"I just finished my tennis lesson." She responded by wiping her forehead with a small white towel over her shoulders.
"What next ? Do you golf too ?" She rolled her eyes sarcastically.
Lottie blushed and looked down at her feet.
Angela scoffed and licked her teeth. "You actually get golf lessons."
"I get golf lessons." She affirmed, shaking her head.
She finally took a step back to let Angela into the house.
The blonde had agreed to come, and spend the night from Friday to Saturday. Only because her brother was throwing a huge party while his father was away. If you have a little bit of common sense, you don't want to be present at this kind of party. And even less be in your room when people come.
Lottie had always felt alone in her big house, with her parents always far away and for only company. Maids and butlers. So she was really happy to be able to see Angela.
"So, do you wanna watch a movie ?"
