Y/N'S POV:
It was a brand new day. A fresh start. I was going to apologize for all my mistakes, and I wont cause any more trouble. I will be a brand new woman.
I hadn't gone running today in the maze because Frypan needed some help in the kitchen, and because I was a brand new woman, I volunteered to help him out. However, once the day was over, the sun was beginning to go in, but Minho and Alby weren't back from the maze yet.
Everyone was starting to worry as they all kept crowding around the entrance, hoping both would come out eventually. As we all waited for them to come back, I usually stuck around with Newt. We became closer, just like we were before.
I stood by the doors, feeling my heart pounding through my chest. Why weren't they back yet? I stood between Thomas and Newt, all of us hoping we will see them coming around the corner.
But they never did.
Soon, the doors started to close, the ground shook as all of us were scared out of our minds. Galley stood in the front, concern, worry, and fear flashing through his eyes, just like the rest of us.
Suddenly, Thomas pointed to the entrance.
"There!"
I looked in seeing Minho dragging Alby by the shoulders, screaming as the doors started inching closer and closer together. Everyone was screaming, hoping they would make it.
"Something wrong!"
"Minho! Leave him! You won't make it!"
So much screaming.
All the sounds around me started to blur out of my reality, I felt like my destiny was just two feet away from me. Just out of reach. There must be a way to help them.
I hadn't even noticed that Thomas dove through the doors, Newt tried to grab him but missed.
"Thomas!" The screaming echoed through the air, causing me to jump back to reality. I had to go in. I had to help. I couldn't just leave them.
Without thinking, my feet were already moving towards the door until I made it all the way through. The doors closing in on me so closely, I felt like my life was chasing after me, the screeching sound torturing my ears as I jumped through just barely, landing on Thomas.
As soon as the doors shut, it was silent. I could hear the birds from a distance, I could smell new things around me, it was beautiful in its own way. The vines all along the walls, the cracked concrete... it was so majestic.
I remembered that I was practically laying on Thomas and I quickly got off of him, slowly standing up, staring at Alby and Minho, trying to catch my breath. I felt my chest pounding with anxiety and excitement.
Once we all caught our breaths, Minho unexpectedly threw Thomas to the wall, pinning him harshly. I gasped, watching Thomas cough from the impact on the wall.
"What the hell was that? You went into the maze? You little shank!"
I wasn't sure why Minho was so angry at only Thomas, it was both of us who had gone inside. However, we didn't have time for arguments, we had to try to survive in the maze for the whole night.
I walked over to the two, and shoved Minho off of Thomas, giving him a cold glare of annoyance.
"We don't have time for this, we need to hide Alby." I suggested, looking around for any sort of a hiding spot we can all hide with Alby in.
Minho just groaned in frustration, turning towards me, teeth gritting in annoyance.
"Take a look around Y/N, there's nowhere to go."
Me and Thomas both stared at Minho, I gulped, I opened my mouth to say something but Thomas had beaten me to it.
"Come on Minho, there's not one place we can take him?" Thomas insisted, staring at Minho with his chocolate eyes as they melted in the dimming of the sunlight.
"You don't get it do you? We're already dead."
That sentence sent a chill down my spine, I felt all the hairs on my arm stand up as reality sunk in. But I refused to believe that was the case, there had to be some place, we were going to make it out alive, we have too.
"Look." Thomas muttered under his breath, walking towards a wall of vines, and looking back at Alby. He had that look on his face that he had an idea, once I saw the wall, I new exactly what Thomas was thinking of.
~~~
"Thomas! We gotta go!" Minho whispered loudly, as hes peering over the wall, his eyes widening. I grunted in exhaustion as I tried to tug on the rope harder, trying to get Alby as high as we could get him. Thomas leaned closer to me, his face scrunching as he tried to get the rope a little higher.
"He's right, we gotta go." He grunted, glancing back at Minho who let go of the rope. Minho shoved Thomas, making Thomas let go of the rope, and they both took off running. I gasped, falling over into the bush of vines. Though, I understood why they had left last minute, just as I was hidden the griever was right in front of me.
The clanging, and screeching sound against the ground would torcher my ears as I tried to hold my shaky breath. My heart was pounding out of my chest as I watched the griever walk past me slowly.
When I heard no more sounds, I quickly got out of the bush and tied Alby tightly so he wouldn't fall down.
"Y/N!"
I spun around, seeing Thomas in a panic. I didn't say anything as I quickly finished tying the rope as best as I could. All of a sudden, the screeching sound echoed as it approached closer and closer.
As quick as a flash, both me and Thomas had his behind the wall out of sight, holding our breaths as we heard the griever getting closer and closer, followed by a ticking sound.
I felt a shaky breath was about to escape from my mouth, but Thomas quickly put his hand over my mouth as I almost started to cry when the griever was just around the corner.
I glanced at Thomas, noticing he was mouthing the words "run", and quickly, we made a run for it.
As we were running, we heard the grievers heavy steps right behind us as the scream echoed through the maze. I glanced back, but when I went to look forward again, I ran into Minho.
"Go!"
We all ran as fast as we could, making it to one of the sector doors, hoping we would lose the griever. However, Thomas ended up stopping right at the entrance of the sector while the griever was screaming at us from a far.
I stopped in my tracks, standing beside Thomas, having a little feeling about what he might be doing. I glanced at him, hoping to catch my breath before we would be running again. If Thomas was going to trap the griever, I had to run with Minho, I wouldn't want to get in the way.
"Be careful." I muttered loudly, as I ran towards Minho who was screaming at Thomas to come to the sector.
"Come on!" Thomas yelled once I made it to the end, me and Minho both were screaming at Thomas for him to run faster, don't look back, keep going, as the griever was just a few feet away from snatching him.
The door was beginning to close, the rumbling sound echoes all around us. Everything was in slow-mo again as I watched Thomas trying to run as fast as he could to not get squashed by the door.
Then, darkness.
my apologies, I completely rushed this chapter because it was mainly from the movie, and I have to speed up a bit with the plot line in the story.
