Y/N'S POV:
"Thomas we gotta get out of here!" I yelled over the screeching sound of the grievers and our fallen friends frightening screams. We were able to get Alby and find a place to get away from the grievers for a few moments, but we were surrounded now. The grievers could come out of nowhere any moment, and anywhere. We were vulnerable.
I didn't want to die like this, I wasn't ready to die, but I don't see any way that any of us can get out of here alive. I felt every part of my body on full alert as the griever screamed to be let into the hut as he smacked into the walls, soon through the walls.
Just as I was about to open my mouth, the grievers had smashed itself through the wall and tried to snatch Chuck from us. We all stood in a circle with a few weapons in our hands, though when Chuck was quickly grabbed almost everyone screamed and dropped their weapon.
"Chuck!" Thomas yelled and dove to grab Chuck from being dragged out of the hut, very quickly everyone else tried to help to get Chuck back. I looked around frantically, seeing if there was anything that I could use to break the grasp the creature has on him.
"Don't let go!" Thomas yelled, as he pulled back on Chuck from the grievers grip with every bit of strength he had.
"No shit!"
In the corner of my eye, Alby picks up a piece of large wood and throws it at the grievers, screaming out of anger. Hitting the leg or whatever the body part was, over and over and over again.
When I noticed the grip on Chuck was a little looser I saw a large needle of some sort attached to the griever poke around, just about to hit Chuck. I gasped and I quickly trapped a wooden spear and threw it at the leg of the griever, causing it to scream and back off for a few seconds to get Chuck back.
Chuck drops to the floor, Thomas quickly picks him up a bit and drags him a little farther away from the opening the grievers came from. Alby screamed after the grievers, almost intimidating it in a sense, challenging it.
Silence...
All we could hear were grasshoppers in the distance, fire slowly scorching all around the glade, had the grievers left?
My heart skipped a beat of hope and excitement, though something felt off, strange in the air.
All of a sudden the griever snatches Alby, and tries to take him out, however the wall holds him back a little, he was caught on the broken wood of the wall.
"Alby!" Thomas screams and jumps for him, along with everyone else, though the grievers grip on Alby was too strong for any of us to make a difference. I feel my chest pull me down as I see Alby muttering something to Thomas before he completely escapes from Thomas's grip.
"No!"
I gasp, as tears stream down my face, though I notice Thomas run towards the door and I reach my arm out trying to stop him but he shakes me off. Thomas swings the door open and we see the grievers were all gone all of a sudden, everyone else followed him out, leaving me standing alone in the hut.
My shaky breaths made my throat hurt, I look around the room, my lip quivering, though the needle across the room catches my eye and I swiftly walk over and pick it up gently. This must be how Ben was stung, and Alby. The needle.
And when we injected Alby with the serum, it healed him, it also made him remember.
I took a shaky breath in and I made my out of the hut, only to see Thomas holding his cheek, and everyone trying to hold Gally back. Gally must've hit Thomas. My eyes widened, and I quickly ran over to Thomas, making sure he was alright.
"If you hadn't gone into the maze and found that section compass thing, none of this would've happened!" Gally yelled in rage, trying to get everyone off of him just so he could go after Thomas again.
When Gally had mentioned the sector thing that came from the griever, I immediately looked at Thomas in guilt remembering everything like it had just happened before everything that happened this evening.
"There it is."Â Thomas muttered, and started speed walking to where he and I had killed the griever when we were stuck in the maze. Me and Thomas were back in the maze not long after we had just escaped it that morning. Tonight was supposed to be a little bonfire of celebration, so we were in a little bit of a hurry so we could get back before the doors would close.
Once we had finally reached where the griever was, it was smashed between the two walls, the flesh splattered all over the floor. However I saw a red flashing in the wall where the griever was.
"There's something in there..." I whispered out loud, about to reach my hand in the wall to reach for whatever was flashing. Thomas quickly snatched my arm away from the grievers and stuck his arm inside instead.
"Um, excuse you." I muttered in annoyance. I was a little frustrated with Thomas lately, though I know none of this was his fault I guess. I suppose most of this has to rely on Teresa's fault, but I still found myself frustrated with Thomas for whatever reason.
"I don't want you to get hurt." He spoke with such caution and awareness as he started to pull out something.
I glanced at him a few times before finally resting my eyes on what he had pulled out. It was metal I think, in a cylinder form, with the brand W.C.K.D across it. However, it also had the number seven on it, along with an antenna type thing that beeped.
Even though we were in a serious situation, my brain wouldn't stop thinking about Thomas and Teresa. Thomas furrowed his eyebrows in confusion as he looked at every little detail this thing had. I sighed, and I looked at Thomas, wanting to get it off my chest.
"Are you and Teresa together? Like officially?"
Thomas glances up at me in surprise, frowning in confusion with my random question in a situation like this. He just looks back down at the object, not making any form of eye contact.
"No, we are not together." He spoke slowly and cautiously once again, speaking as if I was a ticking time bomb, like I could explode of rage any moment.
His answer just added more confusion to my head, which led me to keep pestering him about Teresa, wanting answers. I didn't know why I wanted the answers, but I couldn't shut my mouth.
"It looks like you're together."
Thomas suddenly looked up at me, the serious look on his face, which never was a good sign when it came to conversations like this.
"Is it true you and Newt are together?"
I scrunched my face in pure confusion, where would Thomas get that idea from? Nothing was happening with me and Newt at the moment. I opened my mouth to object, but Thomas took that as me being guilty.
"That's what I thought." He licked his lips in annoyance, about to turn away and head back but I quickly grabbed his arm and spun him around to face me.
"Its not true, even if it was why would you care?" I demanded, letting go of his arm, I felt every muscle in my body tense up. Every time I speak to Thomas I feel him almost consume me and the air all around me, I feel there's nowhere to breathe with the pressure and tension he gives me.
"Well I-
He never ended up finishing that sentence, instead he just stared down at me with his big brown eyes. I noticed him take a step towards me, as soon as he moved I took a deep breath, hoping to not give away my anxiousness. But I could never pretend anything with Thomas.
He noticed that I started to get nervous when he came closer to me, and he didn't do anything about it. He just licked his lips nervously and gently brushed a strand of hair out of my face with his fingers. I hadn't even noticed he had raised his arm, I felt like everything around me was spinning, all I could focus on was him.
And I hated and loved that feeling. It was too complicated with Thomas, it felt chaotic in my head. It was noisy. All I could think about was Thomas, and it can get exhausting.
I glanced from his eyes and lips continuously, feeling on edge about what he could do or say next. I notice him lick his lips again nervously as he slowly inches a bit closer to my face. I don't do anything about it, I don't stop him.
Suddenly a loud rumbling fills the air, and we both quickly step away from each other and glance around anxiously. It was getting late and the maze was getting ready to change, and I don't think we were wanting to be stuck in the maze again for a second night in a row.
"We should head back..."
