After the club incident, the group was hanging out on a roof near the Golden Gate Bridge. It seemed like the group was beginning to sober up. Yo-Yo was lying face down on something. Neha, Billy, and Mary Jane were sitting with their legs dangling over the edge while Nick and Stuart stood on the opposite end, staring out at the bridge.
"Do you really like Stuart?", Billy asked Mary Jane, breaking the quiet.
"Maybe â just a little", she mumbled. "But I doubt he would feel the same... not about me", she frowned.
"Are you kidding me?", Billy asked, looking over at her with raised brows. "Do you not see the way he keeps looking at you? Besides, any guy would be lucky to have you. You're pretty and smart and very feisty."
Mary Jane giggled a little, wiping her eyes as she sniffled. "Thanks, Billy", she chuckled.
The girl rested her head on his shoulder. "You should talk to him", he said, nodding in the direction.
"No, no, not right now", she hummed. "Let's all just enjoy this moment for a little while", she smiled.
"I think I like girls", Neha said randomly, once again breaking the calm silence. "At least partially."
Both Mary Jane and Billy and looked at her for a long moment before Billy held out his fist for the girl to bump and Mary Jane hugged her.
"So, did you guys have a good time tonight?", Billy asked. "You know, when Mary Jane wasn't staring at Stuart and Neha wasn't discovering her sexuality?"
"I did not stare at â okay, maybe I did", Mary Jane mumbled. She looked down with a chuckle before looking over at Billy. "Yeah, yeah, I had fun", she nodded. "It was loads of fun."
"Me too", Neha nodded. "I had a good time too."
Meanwhile, across the roof, Nick and Stuart were having a conversation of their own.
"Look at that view! Come on, you're not gonna see that on your little four inch screen!", Nick said, nudging Stuart slightly. "You gotta look up!"
Stuart just snickered, shaking his head. He had pocketed his phone and was actually looking up for once, staring out at the view before him. He glanced Mary Jane's way a few times, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Okay, buddy, you were an animal out there tonight!", Nick praised.
"Nah, no, I wasn't", Stuart said, shaking his head. He was trying to play it off like it was nothing.
"No, you were! Did you have a good time?" He was hopeful that he did since the boy looked bored all the time â literally, all the time.
"Yeah, it was alright", Stuart shrugged, totally downplaying all of this.
"Yeah, it was alright", Nick mimicked, even mocking the boy's voice. "Why do you do that?"
"What do you mean?", Stuart frowned, looking over at him. "Do what?" He crossed his arms before looking back out at the sky.
"Lowball me like that!", Nick answered. "I'm not gonna take away your cool guy card if you admit that you actually give a shit about something, man! Or, God forbid, that you had a great time!"
"Alright, it was fun", the brunette finally admitted.
"Oh, Stewie", Nick sighed.
"What?", Stuart asked in confusion, ignoring the nickname.
"Come on!"
"What do you want me to say, that it was the best night of my life?", Stuart asked.
"Only if it's true!", Nick said, once again looking hopeful.
It was quiet again for a moment before Stuart finally relented. "Alright, it was the best night of my life", he admitted, grinning and nodding.
"My noogler!", Nick said in excitement, holding his fist out for a fist bump.
"My noogler", Stuart chuckled, bumping his own fist against Nick's.
"Now, I do know something that you actually do care about", Nick continued, making Stuart look at him with raised brows.
"Oh? And what's that?", Stuart asked, genuinely curious.
"Mary Jane", Nick chuckled, nodding towards the redhead. "You can't keep your eyes off her. I saw how you danced with her tonight. You're totally into her."
"No, I'm not", Stuart defended. He looked at Nick, who looked like he didn't believe him at all. "Okay, I am."
"She's into you too, you know", Nick chuckled. "I can see it. Go talk to her. Our summer here will be over soon, you might not see her again after this", he frowned, thinking of Dana. "Do it while you can."
Stuart looked over at where Mary Jane sat. Billy and Neha seemed to catch the drift and got up, leaving her there alone. The golden hue of the rising sun lit up her pale skin, the breeze playing in her flaming hair. Stuart nodded. "Alright, alright, I can do this", he said, nodding once again. "I can. I got this." With that said, he got up and slowly made his way over to her.
Stuart took a seat next to Mary Jane, who looked over at him and smiled. "Hey, stranger", she greeted politely. "Long time no see."
Stuart chuckled a bit. "I just came over to say hi."
"Hm", she hummed, long lashes fluttering as she blinked lazily up at him. "Hi." Mary Jane's brows furrowed as she took in his appearance. "What happened to your eye?"
Her fingers delicately traced beneath his eye. Stuart flinched, but didn't move away. "Huh? Oh, when we had the fight. One of those guys must have gotten me pretty good", he answered.
"Where are your glasses?" He took them out of his pocket and held them up. Thankfully, there was nothing wrong with them. Mary Jane took them from him, placing them on her own face. "Whoa, you're blind", she muttered, taking them off.
"I am not", he scoffed, pushing her shoulder.
Mary Jane grinned, looking over at him. She brushed his hair back, placing the glasses on his face. "You know, you're very handsome without your glasses, but you're not my cute little Stuart unless you have them on."
"You look really pretty when the sunlight hits you like that", Stuart blurted. Mary Jane's cheeks heated as she turned away from him. "I have to tell you something", he said quietly, turning her head so that she would look at him. Without realizing it, the pair leaned in towards each other. Their lips were centimeters apart.
And then Nick loudly called Lyle's name, causing them to jerk apart when they realized what they were doing. Mary Jane bit her lip, shaking her head. "Sorry", Stuart said quickly. "Iâ sorry."
"Looks like you hit it off with Saffron", Nick continued, not even realizing that he had ruined an otherwise perfect moment.
Lyle was singing a song to himself as he walked out of the bushes, leaving Mary Jane to wonder how long he had been in there and why he was in there. "I'm texting her that I love her and I'm sending her this picture I took of little Lyle when he made pee in the bushes. Look, he's winking!", the boy said, turning his phone to show the gathering nooglers.
"Ew!", someone said. Stuart placed one of his hands over Mary Jane's eyes, causing her to laugh. She was still grateful though, of course, that the man had shielded her from from seeing Lyle's... little Lyle.
"You call it Little Lyle?", the redhead laughed. Neha let out a loud 'ha!' at her friend's words.
"No! Lyle, Lyle, Lyle", Nick said as he ran up to the boy. "That is a horrible idea! Please don't do that, you're drunk off your ass", he pleaded.
"I appreciate your concern, but I'm flyin high, baby!", the boy said in a sing song tone.
"Okay, Lyle, you're not flying, but... what's seventeen squared?", Billy asked, trying to help out and prove to Lyle that he was drunk.
"289, why?", Lyle answered correctly. Mary Jane glanced over at Nick. It looked like the man's gears were turning.
"Okay, come on, give me a harder question than that, I'm riding with this", Billy said, looking around at the kids.
"Maybe the square root of seventeen?", Stuart suggested.
"Four point two three, maybe?", Lyle suggested.
"4.12310563 is the short version", Mary Jane answered, causing everyone to look at her. "What? I like math! Stop looking at me like that."
"That's the app!", Nick finally shouted out his idea. All eyes were now on him. "That's the app we should make right there."
"What?", Billy asked in confusion.
"Some quiz question you gotta answer before you send a drunk text or drunk email or drunk phone call. Something to protect you from yourself!", Nick explained.
The group nodded in agreement. "That's actually a great idea, Nickelodeon!", Mary Jane said, using one of Billy's nicknames for the blonde. She held up her hand for a high five, and the blonde slapped his own hand against hers.
"She's right, that's good, can we do that?", Billy asked, forgetting all about Exchangeagram.
"Hell yeah, we can do that!", Neha cheered.
Yo-Yo lifted his head from the thing he'd been laying face down on for the first time in a while. "Are you kidding? I can program the shit out of that bitch on the bus ride home!" He then put his head back down, clearly not interested in joining the actual conversation and just in getting it over with.
"I'll take that as an overwhelming yes then!", Billy shouted.
"Come on then, let's get back to HQ!", Nick said. Everyone nodded in agreement and started to walk off â all except for Stuart.
"Hey, well, wait", he said, making everyone stop and look at him. "Let's stay like five more minutes?", Stuart suggested, "You know, enjoy the view a little more?"
"Wow, yeah", Nick nodded.
"Whoa, Stuart Twombly wants to stay outside and enjoy the view? Guys, the world is ending", Mary Jane said, causing the group to chuckle a bit. They all slowly took their seats again, Mary Jane sitting next to Stuart and resting her head against his shoulder. Stuart wrapped a comforting arm around her.
No one said anything in that moment, silence enveloping them. They all just enjoyed the view and being with each other.

I know Neha wasn't bisexual
in the movie, or at least she
never mentioned it, but I
thought that it would be cool
if she was, don't @ me. ð
