89 A Fine Plan
Let me tell you this once, and only once. Okay, doesnât matter how much but let me tell you this. Donât ever expect the normal, the average, or the mediocre when youâre with us. You will always find yourselves in extraordinary situations, and thatâs just one of the many reasons why weâre here in the first place.
Weâre now being hunted by spy mages from an evil agency and the FBI although I have not heard from them for a while. Now, it was the next day after I was just woken up from my very painful slumber.
Well, it wasnât painful since I was sleeping, but my body was in a lot of pain. I feel like I just got run over by a stampede of bulls, and thatâs not even the worst I felt. My team, September, Nikki, Tisiah, and Malachi with me have decided to calm down and lay low.
In case you forgot, we had a very explosive fight in the street with blown-up cars, lasers being propelled at each other, and a lot of screaming.
Not a good sound to hear, and itâs something I would not want to experience ever again. We were inside this apartment in Florida, and it doesnât seem like anyone is going to come for us anytime soon.
Iâm not sure if the people who were after us have given chase yet or not. But Iâm pretty sure Rocke has already given chase after us, and heâs probably the only one we have to worry about.
Rocke is a very powerful and dangerous man. Heâs ruthless, thinks heâs clever, and always gets what he wants. No matter who or what is in his way, he will stop at nothing to get to us.
Especially me, Connor. He wants me dead more than anything, and I donât know why.
Iâve never even met the guy before until that one mission to get the Armonk, and weâve been sworn enemies since then, always trying to kill each other.
.....
Itâs a miracle that Iâm still alive, and I have my team to thank for that. They always had my back, no matter what the case was.
I was sitting in the living room, on a sofa that felt quite warm and fuzzy, with a blanket over me. I was still in my clothes from before, and they were starting to feel quite itchy.
But I didnât change, because my bones felt as if I was a hundred years old.
The apartment was a typical Florida type, with a living room, kitchen, and bedroom. The flooring was white with a few stains on it. The sink was white with a few rust spots on it. The ceiling was light blue with several cracks in it. There was an aroma of coconuts in the air.
As I turned around, I saw September walking toward me.
âHey September,â she greeted, caressing her brown hair. âYou still okay?â
âI guess,â I muttered, sitting up and stretching my arms. âWhat about you guys? Is everyone alright?â
âWeâre all good,â Nikki said as she suddenly arrived. âWeâre not exactly sure what to do right now though, so weâre just kind of relaxing.â
âI see,â I said as I got up from the sofa. âWell, we can-maybe do something fun while weâre at it.â
âThe last time we did that, we nearly got killed,â Malachi said as he entered the room. âCouldnât even meet any ladies, and we had to save ourselves.â
âHeâs right,â Tisiah said, following him. âIt wasnât exactly the greatest choice.â
âBut after that, they would have to leave once that fight happened,â I said. âMaybe we could try to use as much time here safe as possible to reevaluate the situation and come up with a better plan.â
âItâs not like we have anything else to do,â Nikki said. âWeâre just kind of sitting here waiting for something to happen.â
âExactly,â I said. âSo, letâs try to make the best of it.â
âPerhaps,â Tisiah said, âbut we should be on our guard. We do not know when they will come for us again.â
âTisiahâs right,â September said. âStay on guard, also anyone seen Greg?â
Suddenly, Greg opened the door of his room, âIâm here,â he said. âWhatâs going on?â
âWeâre just trying to come up with a plan,â she said. âGood morning, by the way, have you been up long?â
âAbout an hour or so,â he replied. âI was just trying to see if there was anything to find in this beehive of a place.â
âAnd? Anything useful?â I asked.
âNot really,â he said, âjust some old clothes and food thatâs been here for years.â
âWeird, well how about we go ahead and eat something, after its breakfast,â Malachi suggested, as all eyes immediately faced him with an angriness.
âWhat? Iâm just trying to be polite,â he said, holding his hands up in surrender.
âYeah right, youâre just trying to get us killed,â Tisiah said.
âI am not!â he exclaimed. âWhy would I want that?â
âMaybe because youâre an imbecile,â Nikki said.
âOuch, that hurts,â he said, clutching his heart. âBut youâre probably right.â
âAlright, letâs go ahead and find somewhere to eat then,â I said, trying to diffuse the situation. âMalachi, you can go first.â
âYes, letâs go to Everglades Restaurant!â Malachi said as silence broke in. I nodded slowly, trying to not show my disappointment.
The room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop, and it was clear that nobody wanted to go there.
âIf thatâs what you want,â I said, trying to be optimistic.
âIt is what everyone wants,â he said âTrust me, that place is good. And I mean good.â Now September nodded slowly, trying to not show disappointment.
âOkay,â she said, trying to be optimistic as well. âIf thatâs what you want.â
âIt is,â he said.
âFine, letâs take our shower and get dressed up first, sheesh,â Nikki said.
âYes!!â Malachi shouted with joy, as he went back into his room.
After we all got ready, we walked out the door and saw a beautiful day. The sun was shining as the fresh air, filled with the smell of salt water, hit our faces.
âThis place is amazing,â Greg said, taking in the scenery. âJust beautiful.â

When we arrived I found myself quite impressed with the exterior before we went in. The gold walls were completely mesmerizing, and the restaurant looked very luxurious.
âWow,â I said, my mouth agape. âThis looks amazing.â
The restaurantâs exterior was very luxurious and impressive. The gold walls were mesmerizing, and it looked like a very high-class place the thought of going in made me very excited.
âI know, right?â Malachi said, clearly pleased with himself. âAnd itâs even better on the inside.â
As we walked in, I was not disappointed. The interior was just as luxurious as the exterior, if not more so. There were chandeliers everywhere, and the furniture looked like it was made of gold.
âThis is incredible,â I said, my eyes wide. âIâve never seen anything like this.â
âYeah, itâs pretty awesome,â Nikki said, looking around in awe. âWhere do you think we should sit?â
âHow about over there?â Greg said, pointing to a table near the edge.
We took a seat while Nikki and September went over to the cashier to start paying.
âSo, when should we start moving?â Malachi asked. âItâs just us men right now, so we can say what we want.â
âI say tomorrow,â Greg said, âWe need to plan this out first and make sure we have everything we need.â
âI agree,â I said. âBut we shouldnât stay here too long, itâs only a matter of time before they suddenly arrive and blast us into oblivion.â Malachi nodded, his face serious.
âYouâre right,â he said. âSo tomorrow, we move.â
Then Nikki and September arrived. âWeâve decided that weâre gonna leave tomorrow, just get this whole thing over with,â Tisiah said. September seemed disturbed by that comment, but Nikki just shrugged it off.
âWe were literally just in a fight with the TSA and now you want to deal with that again. Look at what happened to you!â September shouted, pointing and me. I sighed, not wanting to remember what happened.
âItâs not like we have a choice,â I said, my voice low. âWe need to get out of here. I want to go back home, and Iâm pretty sure we all do.â
âBut how are we going to survive if weâre constantly going to be hunted by fricking Rocke!â she argued, her voice getting louder.
âI donât know,â I said, âbut weâll find a way. We always do.â
âWe canât just rely on hope in these situations. Sometimes your brain needs to be in the mix for these situations,â September scolded, her arms crossed. âIf you want to get out of here alive, weâre going to have to be a lot more careful from now on.â
âBut being careful doesnât mean to be stuck in this hole, waiting for death,â Malachi said, his voice harsh. âIâd rather take my chances out there.â
âChances Malachi, youâre talking about chances! Weâre not playing some game here where if you roll a dice and itâs a one you die, this is real-life Malachi. This is real life, and people are getting killed out there. We need to be smart about this, not rely on some dumb chance,â she said.
âIâm not treating this like a game, Iâm treating it like my life,â Malachi said. âAnd Iâm not going to hide in here like a little wimp.â
âThatâs all you want. Big boy, power, big man,â September said in a mocking voice. âYouâre just a big baby who wants to be the hero.â
âAt least I want to save us, unlike you that cares only for your survival,â he shouted. âWeâre leaving tomorrow and thatâs it! Nothing can convince me otherwise.â
September stayed quiet, her face red with anger. Nikki put a hand on her shoulder and she reluctantly agreed.
Then she stormed off in the other direction. This was bad, very bad. If we were going to get out of here alive, weâre going to need to be united, not divided.
I went after her, as she headed toward the bathroom. She went through the hall that led to the womenâs door, which would be a very bad thing. I donât want to seem like a weirdo or anything, but I need to talk to her.
Quickly, I stopped her and she looked at me as if she had no energy to care, âWhat?â she asked, her voice full of venom.
