Ruhi:
The fourth year is not that easy. Whatever hard work I did went in vain, cause all the viva questions the professor asked weren't the ones I prepared. But last week's classes with Ekansh were useful.
Saniya kept babbling about her test experience. At the same time, I was busy gazing at someone. "Which was your case?" My eyes were fixed on Ekansh, who was eating at a corner table along with Harshit Pra. Uff! Yeh ladki. Ruhi Razdan," I turned my head at Saniya and stared surprised at her. "Stop staring at him; people will doubt you."
Still, I stared at him. Even he glanced at my side and gazed at me constantly with a small smile.
Today Saniya, Avinash and I are having lunch while the other two are still busy with the practical test.
"And here comes the chudail of your life," Saniya muttered distracting my attention towards the door and the woman.
Her eyes and her steps were aimed towards my husband's table. She approached the table and sat diagonally to him.
"Ruhi!" Saniya Whispered. I lowered my head and tried to concentrate on my food. But seems like I lost my appetite. The happiness of a few seconds died in a sniff.
"I got CVS case and you?" I asked them.
But Saniya's eyes were fixed on their table. "Hey, Dr. Ekansh is leaving the table." And simultaneously my mobile vibrated with Ekansh's caller ID. I glanced at him, he stared at me for a moment and then walked to the exit.
I lifted the call and asked, "Ruhi, apko dikh Raha hai jo hume dikh Raha hai."
"Ruhi, Did you see what I can see?" I didn't leave the table and sat still.
I scrunched my brows and asked, "What?"
"Black clouds of rain seem like it's gonna rain... From Ruhi Razdan's eyes." I smiled and instantly, he responded, "Ahh... Now the sky is clear," He said, enlightening my mood. "Listen, I have a few cases to attend, so we will take a class at home."
"Okay. Should I wait behind the library?"
"Yeah."
"Hmm...bye." I cut the call.
"Your case is so complicated, Ruhi!" Saniya muttered, shaking her head.
"Nothing is complicated," Avinash piped in. "Dr. Ekansh realised who was best for him. Sooner or later seems like he understood your value in his life."
I smiled at them, feeling good with their words.
Ekansh assured me that he would do things correctly very soon. Will he break up with her forever?
And I had a sudden surprise at 3 during GM class in the lecture hall. As the class was by Ekansh on Alzheimer's.
My eyes popped out when I saw him setting his laptop on the desk and connecting to a PowerPoint presentation.
Then he took out his apron put it on a chair and began the class by rolling his shirt sleeves up and even taking my oxygen away from my lungs.
"Ruhi, muh toh band karo!" Manoj said making my fun.
On the other side, Saniya kept poking my belly with her elbow.
Rayan looked unenthusiastic and shifted to a chair in front of us when Ekansh stepped inside the class.
I giggled when Saniya continued poking my belly and Manoj threw silent jokes on us.
"You three!" My heart stopped beating when Ekansh's eyes darted at the three of us. "Get out of the class."
Wait! What?
"If you don't want to waste further time, leave the room. Now!"
We three stood and silently walked out feeling insulted. Seems like only I was feeling insulted but the other two were giggling like toddlers. "Guys this is not fair. We are thrown out."
"Is this new for you?" Manoj probed. I nodded my head. "Relax, this is also a type of enjoyment."
"Enjoyment?" I glared at him. "What about the class we are missing?"
"Look, Ruhi. He is your husband. Seduce him take out PPT slides from him," shrugging her shoulders, "It's not that hard and share them with us." I glared even at her and walked to the library silently.
I am not gonna speak with him. They sat beside me and behaved as if nothing happened but I felt like covering my head with a veil. My dadu will be disappointed with me.
Seems like throwing out of the class is a common thing for them.
At thirty past five when Ekansh's car arrived to pick me up, I stuck to my words: Not to see his face or speak with him.
He acted heartless and threw me out of the class.
"What happened?" My head was turned towards the window and I didn't turn at him. "Ruhi!" He called me again. "Nakh Chidi!" Now I crossed my arms across my chest and sat in swag.
We reached home, I grabbed my things from the back seat and walked inside the bungalow.
Once we reached home, I bragged at him, "How could you throw me out of the class?"
"Ruhi, that was not me but your professor." I rolled my eyes and sighed with exasperation.
"Did you just roll your eyes, Ruhi?"
"Yes. I did what will you do?" I challenged him. He approached me and surprised me by lifting me and throwing me on his shoulder.
"What...what...what are you doing?" I questioned when he climbed up the stairs. "Ekansh!" I called, feeling scared. He threw me on his bed and hovered above me. I apprehended that he was going to do something with me. So, I pulled on an act instead. "Ekansh, nai... please..." A tear rolled out of my eye, which was because of bliss. "Please... Don't do anything with me!" I requested.
He stopped and stared at my face. "Ruhi!" He called and cupped my cheeks. "What happened?" He moved away feeling worried. I took the chance and pushed him away.
I stuck my tongue out and teased him, "buddu, Ekansh." Then I ran out of his room.
"Ruhi, Dramebaaz. Nakh Chidi!" Though he came running to me, I flew into my room and locked my room door.
Once I heard the footsteps going away from my room, I made my way to the bathroom. IÂ got freshened up and walked out. I took out a pair of night pants and a baggy T-shirt.
I removed my top and thud... The voice of someone jumping on my balcony reached in my ears. Instantly I grabbed my dupatta and wrapped it around me.
"Jo dekhna tha, wo toh dekh liya hai humne!"
"I saw enough!" My heart pounded when I heard Ekansh's voice from behind. I whirled and saw him walking towards me with a smirk.
"What are you doing here?" I demanded, glaring at him. Simultaneously, I took a step back.
He smirked.
"Jo kaam adhura reh gaya usey pura karne aye,"
"I came to finish the incomplete task," he announced and ambled towards me. I shook my head and walked away from him.
"You... Stay over there," I demanded to him.
"That's not going to happen." He strolled towards me and I sprinted away, holding the dupatta around me. But I got unlucky when he caught the tip of my dupatta.
"Ekansh!" I voiced with beseech and shook my head as no.
He took a step near me without any interest to hear me or spare me.
I shook my head again.
He pulled me near him. I spun around and landed against his chest by clamping my back against his front. He held me against him by wounding his arm around my belly.
"You smell so sweet. Like ice cream."
While he was taking slow breaths and inhaling my scent, I was breathing fast.
"Ekansh!" He pecked my bare shoulder. "Apne kaha na jab Tak ap sab teek nahi kar dete, ap Hume kuch nahi karoge."
"You gave me your words that until you do everything rightly, you will not touch me," I reminded him.
"I remember saying that I will not make love and being a medical student you do know which step I am exactly referring to..." he corrected me. "That doesn't mean, I will not at all touch other parts of your body."
He grazed his palm from my bare shoulder to my arm, then my forearm and fisted the back of my hand which fisted both the ends of my dupatta, which kept it steady without slipping.
I closed my eyes, "Ekansh!" I begged.
He pressed his nose against the curve of my neck, 'Apki awaz mei itna Nasha hai na Ruhi, ap janti nahi wo kitna Hume madhosh karthi hai."
"You have no idea, how crazy your voice turns me, Ruhi!" I inhaled deeply when he kissed me on the nape of my neck.
I trembled when he landed multiple wet kisses on my shoulder.
"Ekansh!" I beseeched.
Then he left me and whirled, "Change!" I took my baggy t-shirt and pulled it on, letting the dupatta slip off of my body. I didn't change my pants as I didn't want him to even see the colour of my panties.
"I am done," he whirled and gave me once-over.
Grabbing my hand, he bragged, "Let's go, I didn't take your class today. Let's discuss what case you got and which viva questions they asked you."
He dragged me to his study. I sat on a chair beside him and opened my practical exam papers. He went through it and pointed out a few mistakes.
"You took a detailed history of the patient," he shared. I nodded my head, feeling proud. He explained a few things and even helped me to find the answers to the questions I couldn't answer in my viva.
"You are way too talented, Ruhi. But what influenced you to choose medicine instead of business or other subjects."
I sighed. "Honestly, speaking I wanted to study agriculture. But Dadu wants me to do medicine. And that because," I pointed at his chest, "you choose the medicine."
He laughed, "Unwanted, you were forced to walk in my footsteps."
I nodded my head, "You know, I even had a crush on my school friend. When I shared with Dadu, he said only one thing, I am a man of words, and I already gave my words to Kirpal that you will marry Ekansh. And don't dishonour me..." I stared at him, "And that was it, Ekansh. His words were enough to sacrifice hundreds of crushes. That's why..." I tilted my head towards my book. "... I didn't reject the wedding proposal when you forced when to do it. Ekansh, we youngsters have become so selfish that we stopped thinking about our elder's happiness. This wedding might have cost your happiness, and your sacrifice but it even cost our elders pride and their honour. If I rejected the wedding thinking about your happiness, I would have lost my Dadu, your dadaji, maa and papaji forever. That's why I couldn't."
He grabbed my hand and rubbed my knuckles with his thumb.
"Sometimes, I feel I don't deserve you," he whispered and I stared shell-shocked at him. Shaking his head, "You are too good, Ruhi... And I can't stop... Falling for you." His words did nothing but turn off all the senses of my body. Maybe I am dreaming. Or he might be drunk. "And I mean it. You are showing me a world that I never thought still existed in this century. You give me surprises every day. When you said you observed fasts for me I didn't know how to respond but it made me feel like the happiest person in the world." He pecked on my knuckles.
Out of the blue, his mobile started to ring. Anthra's name flashed on the display. I thought he would leave my hand to attend to it but he used his other hand to silence his mobile.
I glanced surprised at him. He smiled and pecked on my forehead. And then pecked on my cheeks. When he was about to claim my lips, I placed my hand between our lips.
"No!"
He furrowed his brows and asked, "Why?"
"Why did you throw me out of the class?"
He laughed. "You three were being a nuisance in the class, Ruhi. I had to do it." I glared at him.
"I felt insulted. So much insulted. You could have scolded us..."
"Fine. Next time, if you disturb me, I will give you detention. And in detention, I will ask you to give me 100 kisses..."
I stuck my tongue out and teased him, "In your dreams. Now give me the pen drive for today's class. I want to make notes."
"Ahh... You do help people in exchange for a commission, don't you?" I giggled sheepishly. "Now, I also need a commission in exchange..." he said, smirking at me.
"What comission?" I asked, narrowing my eyes at him.
He pulled my chair nearer to him and whispered in my ears, "Sit on my lap and kiss me everywhere until I get satisfied." That widened my eyes, as wide as saucers.
