Michael

It was the next day as I came downstairs dressed seeing balloons sitting on the Island in the kitchen. "Good morning" I said to my mother along with Y/N's mother and my father. "Good morning" they all said as I just went out into the back going to sit on the beach. I just sat there thinking and looking at the water.

Truth was I always had a soft spot for Y/N but after that night I had sex with her, I can't stop thinking about that and her. I wanted clarity and I most certainly got it and now I'm paying for that shit because she doesn't want to be with me. I also didn't understand why she didn't want to be with me, I always treated her with respect even when we would argue. Even when I'm mad at her I would bounce back and talk to her like nothing ever happened, I just didn't understand.

I feel as if she's supposed to be my other half but she doesn't see it. She just looks at me like a simple friend...

I continued sitting there thinking and I wished that I didn't have sex with her knowing exactly what I was getting myself into. "Hey" I heard Y/N say as I looked over at her. "Happy Birthday" I said as she smiled and we hugged. "Thank you" she thanked. "What's up?" I asked as she sat next to me on the Cabana.

"You okay? You look like you were in deep thought about something" she asked as I chuckled and looked at the water. "I'm straight" I lied as she looked me. "Nah smile, I want to see them dimples" she said as I chuckled and she grabbed my face squeezing My face as my lips were puckered out. "Show me them dimples dumpling" she said taking her hands away as I smiled through my chuckle.

"Are you going to tell him?" I questioned looking over at her. "I uh-I already told him" she started off as i took a breath. "What did he say?" I asked. "He was really understanding than most and expressed how we weren't dating so he didn't want me to stress myself out about it" she said then looked down at her hands. "But I feel shitty on my end" she expressed.

"Y/N you didn't do anything wrong I'm sure he's talking to other women too" I brought up. "Yeah but he now has a perception of me I didn't want him to have and if I was to get with him I think he would have an issue with me being around you and I kind of don't blame him" she explained as I just looked out at the water.

"So what you trying to say?" I asked "this can't happen again" she said referring to us sleeping together "yeah you already clarified that yesterday" I said as she looked at me "and we may have to back away from each other for a bit" she added as I just nodded. "You were just complaining about not spending time now you want to step back?" I questioned as I looked at her. "Michael I'm not saying we can't hang out or check up on each other, I was just saying after the trip we need to step back so the sexual tension dies down Besides You're about to start filming soon anyway" She explained.

"Yeah For like four months, and then straight after that it's Creed 2" I explained as she just sighed "why can't you just say okay on this decision? You act like I'm not going to hang out or talk to you anymore, I said just space" She explained. "Why would I say okay to a decision when it's you just pushing me away because you're talking to a guy?" I questioned. "I'm not push-" She started off then sighed standing up "whatever Michael" she simply said about to walk away.

"Yo I'm not done talking" I started off as she just turned and looked at me. "You so upset about me pushing you away for a guy when you did the same shit to me for Kasey and other women that you've dated. When I wanted to talk to my best friend I couldn't, when I was doing something for my birthday MY best friend didn't show up, I went through Shit And My best friend was no where to be fucking found!" She expressed with so much hurt in her voice.

"So yes I am taking out the time to talk to this guy and putting my foot down when it comes to us having sex because one it's fucking up what WE got" She said motioning her hands between us. "And hopefully if nobody else is here to talk too I know that I can talk to him and he could be there for me" She explained as I stood up "and I said I was sorry for all of that shit when you came back" I said standing in front of her.

"No you said you were sorry so you could fuck and have someone to talk too because your girl was pissing you off. We would be cool and talk to each other like we used too and then once you found another woman I would be put right back on the back burner while you was with your girl and I'd have nobody that shit isn't fair" she explained.

"I understand having a significant other and being happy but Michael you dropped me completely like I wasn't even your best friend and the thing is I would've never did that shit to you. All I said was that we needed space for the sexual tension with us to calm down" she said as I just looked at her.

"Alright" I started off "I'll back off some" I said as she just nodded and faintly smiled. "Okay" she said before walking away as I just watched her.

We were currently getting ready to do dinner at a restaurant For Y/N's birthday. I was downstairs on my phone waiting for everyone else to get ready. "Yo you good?" Steelo asked sitting next to me on the couch. "Yeah" I simply said. "Nah what's up with you?"Steelo asked as I just looked at him. "You slept with her?" Steelo asked lowly. "I should've never went into that shit having feelings" I said lowly back. "Yo how the fuck did that even come about?" Steelo asked moving into closer as I was on my phone wishing Y/N a happy birthday on my Instagram with a throw back picture of when we were kids at her birthday party.

"We were talking and like I was telling you before about not knowing if it was true feelings or me just wanting to have sex with her. And we agreed to do it because she believed it was me just wanting to have sex with her" I explained. "And your ass knew you had feelings going in" Steelo said as I just looked at him agreeing. "Nigga you played yourself" Steelo stated.

"Yeah now she talking about possibly getting with Keith" I brought up as Steelo snickered "Keith?" He questioned "yeah Keith powers" I said making him laugh. "That nigga name really Keith?" Steelo asked as I just chuckled. "Stop" I said as Steelo kept laughing. "She about to date a nigga named Keith?!" He asked as I couldn't help but laugh. "She wants to now distance herself away from me since we had sex and she told him that we had sex" I said as Steelo was snickering.

"What did KEITH say about that?" He asked as I just straight faced him trying not to laugh. "He understood and told them they were only talking." I explained. "Keith fucking somebody else because ain't no way in hell he ain't upset you two fucked" Steelo said. "I don't think she said who she fucked i think it was more like she had sex in general" I said.

"Keith either A. talking to other girls or B. Fucking other girls because ain't no way Keith sweat-" Steelo started off as we started laughing.

"Yo I can't fucking stand you" I said through my laugh. "Was it good?" Steelo questioned referring to Y/N. "That I will not tell you" I said making him squeal and hit my back "it was good" he squealed making me just pinched the bridge of my nose and chuckle.

I posted a picture of Y/N onto my Instagram story from earlier  and captioned it.

I then posted it onto my Instagram story and seen Danielle along with everyone else come downstairs. "Where's Y/N?"

Y/N's mother asked. "She's coming, she's just trying to put on her shoes". Danielle informed. As Steelo and I got up from the couch getting ready to head out Y/N finally came downstairs dressed as I just looked at her and her outfit.

I then felt Steelo nudge my arm some "you ain't getting no more stop being greedy and save some for KEITH" he said lowly in my ear as we immediately started laughing. "You so childish" I said to him getting Y/N's gift. We headed out to the restaurant as Steelo, Y/N, Danielle, Jamila, Laila and I sat at the end of the table while the parents sat by each other. I ended up sitting in front of Y/N and she was looking at her menu and laughing at something Danielle said.

"He got them braids and swear he don't know how to act" Danielle teased as I looked up from my phone.

"Smile dumpling" Y/N said as I sat there "nah no more smiling and no more dimples" I established in the midst of trying not to smile. "You call him dumpling?" Steelo asked "yeah Like my little dumpling" she started off then waved Steelo off. "You're late" she added as I chuckled. "Nah so what is your nick name for her?" Steelo asked. "Mamas" i answered "Steelo you're like mad late" Danielle expressed. "Nah I'm confused as hell I thought we just called her an alcoholic and that was it" Steelo joked as we all laughed and Y/N threw her straw wrapper at Steelo.

"We need to find a club or something because once we leave here I'm not trying to go to bed" Danielle expressed. "I am"

Y/N admitted. "Don't worry we'll get some shots in your system and you'll be ready to go" Steelo said as I chuckled. We went through dinner and sung happy birthday as Y/N was opening gifts and so far my parents got Y/N a necklace with her name on it. Jamila got her some perfume, Steelo gave her some money, Danielle got her something Y/N didn't want to disclose with everybody and now she was opening my gift.

"Wait open the card first" I started off as she grabbed the card and I filmed her. "See what you filming me for?" She asked in a laugh as I chuckled. "Just open it" I instructed as she opened the card and confetti popped out into her face scaring her. She just looked at me as we all laughed at her. She started reading it "Happy birthday to my best friend and sanity saver, here's to the moments that turned into memories with a beautiful friend who turned into family I'm really very lucky to have you in my life. Love Michael" she read as she smiled.

"Aww thank you Michael" she thanked "read the rest" I said as she lifted the card back up to read it. "P.S. I'm the best thing that has happened to you" she read to herself and immediately started laughing. I stopped the video posting it to my Instagram story then started recording her again. She took out the gift box from out the gift bag placing it on the table.

She then smiled at it then at me. She took the ribbon off of it then the top as the first set of pictures of us fell which was just pictures of us as kids. She took off the next top off of the gift box from the middle as a second set of pictures fell which was photos of us in high school. She just smiled as she opened the box in the middle once again as the third set of photos fell as it was different pictures of Y/N and I over the recent years when we would see each other here and there then she took the top off the middle box once again as it was pictures of us at her graduation.

She then opened the box that was in the middle again as there sat a rose head in the middle. She just looked at all the pictures

and covered her face. "Aww" I heard my mother, her mother and Jamila say. "That's so cute" Danielle said filming Y/N and her gift. Steelo handed Y/N a napkin as Y/N took it from him and I got up going over to give her a hug. She stood up as we wrapped our arms around each other.

"I know you feel like I pushed you off to the side, I'm sorry for making you feel that way and I never meant to make you feel like that but Y/N I love you and YOU are my best friend" I said lowly only for her to hear as she just nodded her head and wiped her tears. I kissed her head as we went our separate ways, sitting back at the table. Y/N sniffled and smiled looking down at the pictures while wiping her tears.
