I came downstairs as I smelled my mother cooking. I walked into the kitchen as my mother smiled "morning momma" I said as we hugged and she kissed my head. I sat at the island watching her cook. "What's bothering you because something's bothering you" I heard my mother say as I sighed. "Ma I want my own spot, my own car again and to work. I kind of miss Atlanta it feels like I didn't miss anything while I was gone" I admitted.
"You and Michael must've talked" my mother said. "Yes and he's pissing me off because he's blaming the reason why he's been acting distant when I was in Atlanta on me because he feels I should've never left California" I explained as my mother just chuckled. "Ma what's funny because he's pissing me off and I'm about to drop the friendship" I said.

"I am too. Michael was upset when you left and there's only one reason behind that " she said with a shrug as I just shook my head and looked away. "Well you two need to get it together for your graduation this weekend and by next weekend the latest." My mother simply commanded "why?" I questioned. "We're doing a little family vacation to celebrate your birthday and graduation" She said as I just looked at her. "How you know I didn't have something planned for my birthday already?!" I questioned.
"What were you going to do?" My mother questioned "I was leaving to go hang out with some friends back in Atlanta" i informed. "Well it's family time and it gives you time to spend with Michael, Steelo, and Danielle." My mother said. "I never skip a beat with Steelo and Danielle" I brought up. "Well Michael and too be honest it's probably what you two need" my mother said as I just looked at her. "And honestly That's if his girl even lets him go." I simply said. "No Donna is going to handle it" my mother assured "and you're going to go so you mine as well take a flight from Atlanta back to LA Monday morning like everyone else." my mother said as I just sighed grabbing my phone.
"And we're going to Jamaica" my mother added as I just looked up from my phone and smiled. "Awww you're taking me to Jamaica?" I questioned as she had a soft smile and nodded. "I knew you always wanted to go and you were either in school or working the whole time so I think now in your down time we should take a trip" she said as I just smiled and thanked her. "Thank you mommy" I said getting up to hug her as she smiled. "No problem baby girl, besides my baby girl is graduating" she excitedly said as I smiled and looked at her. "I have a date tonight" I brought up.
"With who?" She asked with a big grin. "It's this guy named Keith" I informed. "Where are you two going?" She asked excitedly. "I wanted to go to Benni Hannas" I admitted as she giggled. "Who's paying, you or him? because you know how you can get" my mother said as I laughed. "I promise ma I'll let him pay, I'll just get cute tonight and let him treat me on the date" I assured making my mother giggled. "You better" she warned as my phone started ringing and I seen Michael trying to call my phone but I ignored it.
"You're only making the situation worse" my mother sung as I just silenced my phone. "I didn't say I wasn't going to talk ,right now I'm doing something" I said as my mother just looked at me. "What are you about to do?" She questioned as I stole a piece of bacon out of pile of bacon that she cooked already. "I'm about to eat" I said making my mother chuckle and shake her head.
"You got a passport and everything right?" She asked as I nodded. Michael tried to call my phone once again but I silenced it once again. "You still want to buy Laila a car for her birthday?" I questioned. "Right now I need to get your birthday together let's think about you not everyone else please?" my mother expressed. "Ma I just asked a question" I said through a laugh. "Y/N I want you out here to relax and to enjoy the benefits you didn't get to enjoy when you were younger unlike Laila" she said as I just looked at her.
"You worked your ass off in school as a child and I couldn't give you everything you deserved because we were broke. You left went off to college and worked your ass off there in school and then had two other jobs on the side on top of that you are leaving out of school with jobs who wants to hire you personally , so Yes I want you to worry about yourself. I want you to sit back and relax because you're always taking care of someone. I want you to be taken care of for a change" my mother explained as I sighed.
"I'm so used to working to meet ends meet or to get what I need it's hard to just sit and be the black Kardashians" I joked making her laugh. "But momma I need my own place and a car-" I started off. "What happened to all the money I gave you?" She questioned "I saved it but that was my in case of an emergency fund and for some of my books" I admitted.
"That's why I ain't hear from your ass" she started off as I just smiled. Y/N why the hell didn't you say anything about needing money for school?!" She asked upset. "Ma I didn't want you to keep giving me money" I expressed. "Y/N you are my daughter I'm not going to leave you high and dry like that. I would give you the world don't ever be afraid to ask me for anything" she explained.
"Yeah but ma it's expensive as hell out here I might move back to Atlanta" I admitted. "Have you even went house searching yet?" She questioned "ma not in no hidden hills Calabasas. I have no money to stay out here" I said as she just placed her hand on her hip "even with as much as I make I cannot live out here, this for the big dawgs" I admitted. "You apart of the big dawgs too you just didn't explore your full potential yet" she said as I just straight faced her. "I will be twenty six in two weeks we're passed reaching my full potential, if it ain't here yet then" I said with a little shrug.
"Well until then I got a job for you" she said as I just looked at her "how are you giving me a job when I told you I wanted to work in the field that I studied for here in California and you said no?" I asked as she laughed. "Just hear me out" she started off. "Next photoshoot for my upcoming collection I want you in them and I want you in my fashion show" she said.
"Whatever you say massa" I said as she just straight faced me "don't make me beat your ass" she said as I giggled. "Go wash your ass" my mother said trying to be funny. "Your boo William coming with us to Jamaica ?" I asked "Yeah" she said as I smiled. "When are you two going to get married?" I asked curious "whenever he gets down on one knee and proposes" she stated "I know that's right" I said. "How are we doing rooms while in Jamaica?" I questioned. "You, Danielle, Jamila and your sister in one room, Michael, Steelo and Michaels younger brother isn't coming because of his football schedule" my mother said "aww" I frowned "but your brother is" my mother informed as I just shook my head. "He an ass I ain't see him since I came back" I admitted. "Watch your mouth and yes he is" she admitted making me laugh.

I walked in the house from my date and it was nice. He was really nice and I had a good time. I walked in seeing Michael sitting on the couch. I just locked the house door behind me and placed my purse on the island in the kitchen. I walked into the living room. "What are you doing here?" I asked "who let you in?" I added. "Your mother let me in before she left to go out to eat with Laila and William" he answered. "So?" I questioned.
"You look nice" he complimented referring to my outfit and my hair in curls.
I just smiled "Thank you" I thanked "what's up?" I asked "you been ignoring my calls and texts all day, I didn't know what was up with you? or what happened to you" he expressed.
"Yeah I was just spending time with my mother before my date" I answered. "How was that?" He asked as I just smiled "he was sweet and it was nice" I answered as Micheal just looked at me.
"He held the door open for you?" He questioned "yeah" I answered "did he pick up the tab?!" Micheal questioned. "Yes Michael" I said. "Just making sure" Michael said in a little chuckle.
"So what do you want?" I asked "nothing I just wanted to see you" he said. "Mmm" I simply hummed before sitting down to take my heels off. "Your mother told you about the trip to Jamaica?" Michael asked. "Yes and she fucked up my whole plan for what I was planning to do" I said placing my heels on the floor and going into the kitchen.
"What was your plans?" Michael asked "I was staying out in Atlanta after the graduation and was doing some things there with some friends" I answered. "Yo you just keep trying to go to Atlanta" Michael said shaking his head in a chuckle as I just rolled my eyes and got my water bottle. "We're not about to start this back up" I warned. "And besides when you going to do something with that head of yours?" I asked.
"I was going to ask can you braid it for me" Michael said as I just scrunched my face up. "Nah" I simply said "go ask Laila or something" I said as he sucked his teeth. "Whatever" he said standing up and getting a water bottle out of the fridge.
"Ch-ch-ch- Chia" I said as he just looked at me "you think you got jokes huh?" He asked as I giggled. "Yeah" I said as he walked up to me smiling as I smiled at him.
"Move" I said stepping away from him "I'm coming over the day before we leave so you can braid down my hair" he said "you telling me or asking me?" I questioned. "I'm telling you, meaning you're going to do it" Michael said boldly. "Nigga don't get the taste smacked out your fucking mouth" I warned making him laugh. "Nah but you doing it" he said. "You better ask Kasey" I said then started snickering to myself.
"You're an ass" he said as I smiled "I know" I agreed. "come on I'm serious" he expressed. "Michael ask Laila I'm not trying to get caught up in that bullshit with Kasey and you getting your hair braided by me" I said as he just sucked his teeth. "Fix your attitude I'm trying to make sure you don't get into no trouble" I said then rolled my eyes. "Fucking Dick head" I mumbled "what you say?" Michael asked "nothing" I answered "Nah what you say?" He asked again placing his drink on the counter moving towards me. "Nothing" I answered as he started chasing me making me laugh.
"Stop I was just playing" I said as he wrapped his arms around my legs and picked me up as I laughed. "Michael I was just playing!" I laughed. He placed me on the couch as I laughed and sat up. "Fucking play too much" I said as he sat next to me and I hit his arm.
