"Yes that's right, five pizzas. All meat lovers. Yes and a two liter of Sprite and a two liter of Coca Cola. One order of cheesy bread... actually make that two orders of cheesy bread. Yes and an extra large order of cheese fries. And do you have wings? ...perfect, please give me your largest order of barbecue wings, boneless please. Yes that'll be all... I'll pay in cash... see you then."
Amy tearfully hung up the phone. "Who wouldn't love to have a girlfriend who buys you all of this food John..." she whispered to herself. Spring break for Amy went poorly, but also just about as well as she expected it to go. Her strained relationship with her boyfriend, who had come back for spring break lighter than when she last saw him and more muscular than he's ever been, couldn't even make it halfway through the week.
Amy's relationship with John has been tumultuous since the beginning. What started as a friendship turned into a relationship after Amy helped John through a breakup. Three weeks after that relationship ended, theirs began and Amy, who had never had a boyfriend before, was blinded to any chance that it was a rebound for John. And while John remained cool and even a bit distanced from Amy, she had no problems telling him all of her feelings as soon as they came to mind. She confessed her love to him less than a month into their relationship, and told him all about her fetishes soon after that. Not wanting to hurt their friendship (more so than their relationship), John tried his hardest to play along and adapt to whatever Amy wanted.
Sooner than later, the couple had been dating for over a year, John reluctantly let himself go and put on some weight, and yet Amy was mysteriously disappointed and could not figure out why. She had a boyfriend who she could be honest to, who was gaining weight, and that she loved, but deep down she could sense a disconnect between the two.
But nevertheless the two pushed on... until fast forward to Spring 2020, this year. Even though she tried to keep her relationship problems behind the scenes, Amy knew that tension between her and John was building. Not only was it him telling her he was going to diet and start weight training this semester, but that he was even considering a transfer to a college in Chicago, over 12 hours away by car from Amy's house. Something that Amy was too timid to even tell Megan about. So it didn't even come as a surprise to Amy when John broke it off with her Tuesday of their spring break. The same day he received his acceptance letter to his new college.
"I'm baaaaaaack!" screamed Megan as she burst through the door of her and Amy's dorm. Thankfully for Amy, the tears were pushed away in the last few minutes. As emotional as Megan and Amy were happy to get with each other, Amy had bigger plans for tonight. "Look what I brought!" Megan held up two extra large bags from McDonald's before plopping them down on her desk. "I even got an extra McDouble for you if you actually wanna join the fat side for 5 minutes."
Amy's eating habits have still remained somewhat clean even after forcing 10,000's of calories down Megan's throat every day. But with a whimpery smile on her face, she responded, "you know I... I could really use a snack like that right now. Thank you girl. I missed you." Amy walked over to Megan to get a fat hug from her before stopping right before she wrapped her arms around her as far as they could go. "Look at YOU girl! You did not slow down this week did you?"
"I told you I could do it!" Megan purposely wore one of her last remaining outfits from the beginning of the semester, just show off even more progress. "This is my last t-shirt that fits me. Literally I only have this one. The rest are basically crop tops." This giant t-shirt Megan won at a local burger shop last year that used to reach halfway down her thighs could now barely cover up her midriff, with her fat rolls poking out depending on how far she turned her body. "McDonald's does a body good!" Megan exclaimed.
Before she could get another word in, Amy gave her a giant hug, grabbed a handful of her stomach and said, "just a little bit bigger and we're in!"
"In?" Megan asked.
"Thill! Dummy, did you forget why we're doing this?"
Megan laughed slightly. "Honestly... I'm just so used to stuffing myself everyday that I think I almost forgot the point. I can't tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing..."
Amy laughed harder and said, "well if that's the case, I'll have to roll you to graduation if your weight gain never slows down after this semester."
"Before I get to rolling, can you help me grab the rest of my bags? My mom is waiting downstairs," Megan asked politely.
The girls walked downstairs to grab not only Megan's suitcase, but two whole boxes of clothes that Megan bought over the last week. "How many outfits did you buy?" Amy asked, struggling to even pick up the box.
"Enough to... make sure that... I'm not down... to my literal last shirt... oh my GOD," Megan screamed as she made it up half of the first flight of stairs. "They.. wow they installed new stairs or something. I can't do it."
"Oh you fat baby. This is gonna become a problem because we need to live here for another two months. And you're gonna have 50 extra pounds on yourself by the end of it."
"My legs feel like weights. Give me a second..." The girls then spent the next 5 minutes ascending the rest of the stairs as if Megan was climbing a mountain.
But finally, they made it up, new clothes in hand, and Megan only had one thing in mind. "Where's my McDonald's." She rushed over to her desk and started ripping apart McDouble wrappers as if they were toys on Christmas. She took one in each hand and started eating them in seconds flat. And she had four more to go after those two.
After finishing four of the six McDoubles, she took a quick detour to chicken nugget land, where she ordered three 20 pieces. "I eat McNuggets like most people eat popcorn," Megan said proudly as she shoved 3 of them in her mouth at once. She then washed it down with a giant gulp of sweet tea, which she bought two of. "Oh and just FYI, my mom thought this was for me and four of my friends. So you can say I'm eating for five right now."
Amy laughed in awe at her gigantic friend who was, for better or for worse, self sustainable at gaining at this point. "I can't tell if I've created a monster or if I'm just not needed anymore..." Amy said, instantly turning her laughter into sadness. Megan turned around laughing but quickly stopped when she saw her roommate's face.
"Oh Amy... wait no... John? Is that..?" Amy reduced herself to tears and fell in Megan's lap as she sobbed for 15 minutes before telling her a single detail.
"And-and-and then he just said 'I'm leaving for Chicago in July' and got so fucking quiet. Like he wanted me to say it. And I just stared him down with tears in my eyes and said 'I'm not doing this'. And then he finally said that we were finished and I LOST it. He even tried to hold me one more time but I told him and his muscular arms to FUCK right off." Amy vented like that for 10 minutes straight and Megan peacefully, respectfully listened to the whole thing.
"Amy I am so sorry. You know you don't deserve a single part of a man that doesn't want to give you what you want. You know that right?" Megan held her head as she continued to cry into her lap.
"I know... I know... but Megan the worst part about it? It's just... I don't know after the last few months... and doing this... and seeing how me and you got to-"
Before Amy could finish her deep, confusing thought, her phone started to ring. "Here I'll get that for you!" Megan exclaimed, protecting her friend from a sobbing phone call with someone. "Hello?"
"Hi did you order Pizza by Penn?" asked a man over the phone.
"I... did order pizza?" Megan said in the form of a question. To which Amy's head popped up and nodded quickly.
"Okay great. I'm outside your dorm. The total is $124.16, please meet me outside. You should bring an extra set of hands." Megan's eyes widened as she turned off the phone.
"Amy... what did you do?" Megan's mouth salivated with excitement as she awaited her roommate's answer.
"Okay... so I told you I wanted a welcome back dinner. But what if we made it your biggest meal ever? I know it's a lot of money but my parents gave me extra spending money for the rest of the semester. And it needs to all go to this. But you need to repay me by making sure there's not a single bite left by the time we go to bed... deal?"
"Deal. This is worth facing the stairs for one more time."
Amy laughed. "Oh and just to make things more interesting..." Amy reached under her pillow to pull out a full bottle of vodka. "I think it's time we drank together for the first time girl."
Megan smiled giddily before calming down quickly. "Wait. Amy are you sure you want to do that? Really? With me?"
"If I was forced to choose one person to have my first drink with, it would be you. And considering... well... I think tonight is the perfect time. To celebrate friendship and to celebrate change. Change for the better."
"Well if we have to celebrate, we need pizza first," Megan said with a giant smile on her face.
