Ian POV
I don't even know why I'm here. Actually, I do, I just didn't think I would be here the day it happened.
"Ian? What are you doing here?" I look down at Quiet and give her a small smile, "I just came by to say I'm sorry for not believing you about Megan bullying you." She closes her door and sits down on the porch steps.
"You sounded hurt when you found out she was bullying me. Are you okay?" I bite my tongue and nod my head, "Yeah everything's fine." She lets out a sigh and looks up at the stars, "I should have taken Shane up on his offer."
I arch my eyebrow at her, "What was his offer?" She looks at her feet, "He asked me if I wanted to spend the night at his house." I look at her and then at her house.
"What's wrong with your place?" She looks at me, "My mom won't leave that drunk man who sleeps on our couch every night. It's hard for me to sleep because he starts fussing about any and everything at random times."
I look at my phone and then at her, "You can come to my place and sleep." She looks at me and shakes her head no, "I don't want to upset Shane. I told him I might sleepover Friday night."
She stands up, "I'll see you tomorrow morning." She walks into her house and closes the door.
"Night Quiet."
Next Morning
I pull up at school and see Shane holding a cupcake above his head, "Shane, give me my cupcake." Quiet looks at Shane with annoyance in her eyes, "Mason, can you get my cupcake?"
Mason laughs and tickles Shane up under his arm. Quiet quickly takes the cupcake and hides behind Mason. I look around and then at Mason, "Where's Lily?"
Mason lets out a long sigh, "She went to go get some necklaces for her and Hazel." Quiet looks at me as she eats her cupcake.
"Ian, can I talk to you?" We all look to see who called my name, I glare at Megan. I look at Quiet and she goes and holds onto Shane's arm.
"What do you want Megan?" She lets out a long sigh, "I'm sorry for what I did, but she deserved what was happening to her." I look at her in disbelief, "What person deserves that? She got new bruises every time you and your group touched her."
She walks closer up to me and I step back, "Why do you even care about her?! She didn't even know who you were until she met you face to face."
"I don't care if she didn't know me! You did something that I hate the most! I told you from the beginning I hate bullying and you know why!" She tries to talk again, but the bell rings.
I walk off and head to class. "Cupcake are yo-."
"Shane! You made me drop my cupcake!" I turn around and see Quiet looking at her cupcake with a sad face, "I'm sorry Cupcake, I'll get you another one later on, but right now we have to get to class."
He picks it up and throws it away, he grabs Quiet hand, "I don't want to go to class. Shane, stop please." Quiet starts dragging her feet and Shane picks her up and carry her in the class.
I start laughing as I follow them in the classroom. We sit down and Quiet looks out the window. Shane groans, "Cupcake are you really upset? I said I would get you another one."
She looks at him and shakes her head, "I wanted that cupcake." Shane puts his head down and I laugh, "It'll be alright." I pat Shane back and he lets out a loud groan.
Quiet pulls his ear, "I'm not mad anymore. I don't want you to be upset because of me." Shane sits up and smiles at her, "I will get you a cupcake for lunch." She nods her head and turns back to look out the window.
"Not even a single smile." I mumble to myself. Quiet looks at me and then back at the window.
Lunch
"Cupcake, I brought your cupcake." We are all sitting at our table when Shane walks up to us holding a cupcake in his hand.
Quiet reaches for the cupcake with bright eyes. "Here you go. I won't knock it out of your hand this time." She stands up and looks at all of us, "Do y'all want to see something?"
We all look at her with an arch eyebrow, Lily stands up and smile, "If it's better than staying in here, I don't care."
We start walking out of the cafeteria and heading to an empty hall. "Nobody ever comes down this hall. Doesn't it lead to the roof?" Quiet looks at Mason and nods her head.
"How can you get on the roof? You need a key and we are only allowed unless a teacher says so." She looks at me as she pulls out some keys, "The principal gave it to me to get away from my problems."
We head upstairs to the roof. She unlocks the door and we all walk through the door. "I've never been up here. How often do you come up here?" Lily asks while hugging her, "Once or twice a week."
Lily starts jumping up down as she goes through her book bag, "Hazel! Look what I got us! It's for our friendship. Since you and me are the only girls in the group we can wear the same necklaces."
Quiet looks at the necklace and smile, we all freeze. "Thank you, Shane, for not leaving my side, since you came here. Thank you, Mason and Lily, for becoming one of my first friends. And thank you, Ian, for getting rid of your girlfriend."
Shane was the first one to get out of his shock state, "Cupcake your smile is so beautiful. You hid it for this long?" Quiet holds out the necklace to Shane and smile even bigger, "Can you put it on?" He nods his and takes the necklace out of Quiet hand.
After Shane put the necklace on, Lily starts screaming. "Ah! I can't believe you just smile! We can now take a lot of pictures!" Lily hugs Quiet and takes a quick selfie with her.
"Pretty girl always have a pretty smile with her," Mason says with a small smile on his face.
"I'm glad that you're smiling Quiet." She looks at me and nods her head. "Shane where's my cupcake?" Shane freezes at what he was doing, "I left it down in the cafeteria."
Quiet mouth drop and then she starts pouting, "I wanted my cupcake." We all start laughing and Shane gives her hug, "I'm so sorry Cupcake. I can't get one now, but I'll get another one later on." She slowly nods her head.
"Now all you have to do is laugh." She looks at me and shrugs her shoulders. "I don't know about all of that."
Shane wraps his arms around her shoulders, "I'll get her to laugh. Just wait until Friday." Quiet looks up at him and then back at me.
Mason lets out a long sigh, "Let's get back down. Class is about to start and we are not skipping this time." He points at Shane and Lily, "What? Why?"
Quiet pokes Shane in the side, "You skipped your first day." He scratches his head and lets out a low chuckle, "Lily pressured me into doing it." Lily mouth drops and then she smiles, "There is no need for me to lie. I really did pressure him."
I roll my eyes and wrap my arms around Lily shoulders, "You are on a whole different level." She looks up at me and nods her head in agreement.
Lily POV
Me, Mason, and Shane are now heading to our public speaking class. I look at Shane, "Do you think Quiet would go to a party?"
His eyes widen and he shakes his head slowly, "I doubt it, I mean it took her so long to smile. Do you really think she would go to a party? Plus we're going to the movies Friday." We walk in our class and see a substitute, "The party is on Saturday. I'm going to get her to come."
Shane stares at me shock and Mason starts laughing, "Whatever Lily wants, Lily gets." I smirk at Mason and nod my head in agreement. "She probably doesn't have any good clothes for the party, so I might just let her wear one my outfits. I can do her hair and makeup!"
Shane looks at me weirdly and Mason sighs, "Lily never had any female friends. She only had me and Ian. The girls that would try to be her friend would only use her to get closer to me and Ian."
Shane looks at me and I give him a small smile, "Who was the first group of girls who tried to be your friend?" I put my head down on my desk and look at him, "Megan and her group of friends."
His eyes widen and he looks at Mason to make sure I'm not lying, "But, wasn't Ian and-."
"Yep, he fell for her the moment she came up to him. Since our sophomore year." Shane looks at me, "How can he just break up with her with no problem? They've been dating for two years and some change."
Me and Mason both shrug our shoulders. "He probably does miss her, but if he gets back with her oh well. That's not going to change anything with us hanging with you and Hazel." I say as I pull out my phone.
I know Ian is not over Megan. He really liked her, he thought she was so different.
Shane lets out a long sigh, "If he really wants her back he can get her back." Mason laughs and I roll my eyes.
"I don't want you scaring my Cupcake away. So I'm going to need you to calm down." I stomp on his foot and he lets out a high pitch scream, "What the hell Lily?! That shit really hurt!"
Mason starts laughing and I roll my eyes, "I'm not going to scare her away."
