Isy slid over next to me. âWow. You didnât waste any time making sure the teacher knew about your new body did you?â
âSheâs so shy about her own body⦠Why does she talk about mine so flippantlyâ¦â I growled. âThat⦠Was an accident⦠And my chest is wrapped anyway, so it hardly matters if my shirt moves around a bit.â
âHm⦠Youâre a lot bolder than before though⦠Considering you were hiding under your desk the entirety of the last class.â
âTo be fair⦠A lot has happened since then.â âIâve killed how many demons? I shouldnât be scared of a man looking at me just because I overpowered himâ¦â âI mean sure, if I say it like that⦠But thatâsâ¦â I closed my eyes for a moment. âI should think carefully about what I say, otherwise, it might not actually but me talkingâ¦â
âRightâ¦â
Mo and Bear walked up to us. âYour eyes have changed.â He said calmly.
âThatâs what you noticed first?â Mo said coldly, staring at my chest. âThis was caused by drinking that weird potion you mentioned right? Dragon sight?â
âNot⦠exactly⦠And also youâd probably die if you drank it⦠So donât even think about trying to find some.â
She shrugged, letting out a heavy sigh. âIâm over it anyway. They seem like a pain. And my dad told me I should start growing up like normal now that I stopped eating the pellets.â
âOh, thatâs nice. Iâm happy for youâ¦â I turned to Bear who was now leaning against the desk and facing the opposite direction. âHow is he so good at being around such awkward conversationsâ¦â âAnyway⦠Letâs get going⦠Today I want to test how much weâve improved. Bear, go and gather the Mafia, Mo, you can grab Dragons Tallon too. Iâm going to go get my brother and meet you all at the sparring grounds. This will be the best way to get ready for the exam. After all the effort weâve put in so far it would be a shame if they failed⦠Which honestly might also result in them dying⦠Considering weâve been fighting live monsters in the practical classes.â
They nodded and headed off. âNow that I think about it Iâm actually kind of curious about how Airsidh will react. I haven't seen his calm expression crack in a while. This should be fun.â
His room was on the first floor, so we had to walk a bit to get there, but there was no reason to check anywhere else. He was about as lazy as they came, so I had no doubts he was there. âBig Brother!â I shouted, knocking on the door. âI came all the way down here to see you!â I couldnât hide my grin, anticipating his reaction, but the moment I finished yelling a certain anxious feeling took hold of me and my heart tightened, filling my body with an unfamiliar sense of strength, as if the dragon was reacting to something threatening itâs life.
I heard a few groans and heavy footsteps, with some mumbling that kicked my senses into overdrive, making them all so sensitive my head began to sting, my ears rang and my sense of smell suddenly picked up enough for me to form a picture of the entire room in my mind.
âSiya?â Isy said cautiously as I began to stumble around.
âI guess⦠There are still a few kinksâ¦â I mumbled. Placing a hand out in front of me to steady myself on the door just as it opened, stumbling into a man's chest just barely staying on my feet. âWow⦠That was a little intenseâ¦â I slowly pushed myself up, keeping a hand on his chest to make sure I was steady as I looked at him. âOh, Kai, itâs you.â I smiled brightly, patting him on the shoulders and carefully taking a step back. âIâm as tall as him now, this is crazyâ¦â âIs Airsidh here?â

He stared blankly at me, slightly red in the face and his arms awkwardly held out to the side âA-air-he-sâ He stumbled backward tripping on his own feet and having to catch himself with a hand to the floor, ending up on the other side of the room before he regained his balance. âI feel like Mo would be so disappointed if she saw thisâ¦â
âIt appears you have quite the effect on men.â Isy giggled, covering her mouth with a gently closed fist.
âI donât know how I feel about thatâ¦â I sighed, stepping inside the room and looking around. I could see his massive bow propped up in the corner with a shirt hanging from it, my eyes fixating on it so much it was almost hard to see anything else at first. âI can feel it⦠A weapon that could go through my scalesâ¦â I nervously rubbed my arm over the old wounds to stop the chills. âI donât even have scalesâ¦â Looking down at my hands I stopped, quickly moving them both behind my back and turning away from it. âI guess not all of my habits have changedâ¦â I cleared my throat, properly taking in my surroundings to calm down, as if it was the only way I could feel safe.
Several daggers were sticking out of one of the walls where a strange game board had been drawn and there were clothes and armor thrown about here and there. âYeah⦠Honestly, this is how my room would look if I didnât have roommates⦠I canât really judge themâ¦â I sighed again as Kai quickly started trying to clean up, only realizing none of the mess was actually his.
âKai, whatâs with the racket?â Gild groaned, sitting up in his bed on the top bunk, yawning, and calmly looking between me and Isy. âDo you girls need something?â He rubbed his eyes. âYouâre Isy, one of Siyaâs mates right?â
Isy grinned before nodding, looking at me from the side of her eyes. âThatâs right, where is her brother?â
He groaned, throwing another knife at the wall and sticking it into one of the squares. âKai, are you seriously this useless around girlsââ He looked back at us, as if making himself aware of our presence and stopped short. âHeâs getting out of the shower. He ditched class today so heâs getting a late start.â
âSounds like himâ¦â I mumbled.
âWait, but I thought your brother was like a legend? Isnât he the strongest archer in school?â
I chuckled. âWell, yeah I guess so, but you know, Iâve ditched class before too, remember?â
She grimaced. âFamily habit I guessâ¦â
Gild raised an eyebrow, starting to get suspicious. Kai on the other hand remained completely clueless, trying to say something after finally recovering from his little fall. âSorry about that. I try to keep him out of trouble but at the end of the day he does what he wants. You must be his older sister, right?â Isy snickered, trying her best to hide it as he continued. âIf itâs something I can help with Iâd be happy to.â
âOlder sister huhâ¦â Another knife flew across the room into another square, making him growl and move one to a different square. âThat poor wallâ¦â âYeah you guys can come too⦠Although Gild looks a little sleepy⦠I was hoping to have my trainees test their skills against you guys to see how far theyâve come before the practical exam comes up.â
He stood up with a big smile. âNot to worry, Iâll whip them into shape for you. Anything for a pretty lady.â
âThis is⦠A new side of him⦠Itâs weirdâ¦â
Airsidh finally walked out of the bathroom wearing nothing but a loin cloth, showing off a few new wounds that hadnât fully healed yet and making Isy yelp, jumping behind me and looking away as he turned to look at us. âOh, hey Siya.â He said calmly, walking closer and rubbing my head.
I brushed his hand away. âPut some pants on before you touch me. Ugh⦠youâre so gross.â
He sighed, grabbing some from off the floor and quickly throwing them on. âThere, better?â
âYou might as well put a shirt on too⦠If only for my friend's sakeâ¦â Isy growled and pinched my back.
He did as I asked and Isy nervously stopped hiding, awkwardly stepping away from me as he walked over and patted my head again. âYouâre a little taller than the last time I saw you. Oh, and your eyes are even more sparkly. Good for you.â
âThatâs all he has to say? He wasnât surprised at all?â âY-yeah⦠It took awhile but I guess I finally hit my growth spurtâ¦â I chuckled, admittedly a bit embarrassed and just surprised that he somehow recognized me.
âHa, wait till Lu finds out sheâs shorter than you now. Can I tell her? No, I should let you⦠Hm⦠Decisions decisions.â
I stared up at him. Even though I was so much bigger he still felt like he towered over me. In a way, it was actually comforting. He even recognized me. I didnât get to see his surprised face, but it almost felt like I got something even better. âYou know⦠You really do have your momentsâ¦â
âBut of course. So, what can I do for my adorable little sister.â
My lips slightly separated before they formed a soft smile. âI certainly wasnât expecting to be called that looking like thisâ¦â âI want you to help me test my guild's combat capabilities to judge how well we are improving.â
âSure why not.â
âThat was fast.â
He casually grabbed his sword. âKai, Gild, you two come along too.â
Gild groaned, rolling over in bed and flinging another knife right past our eyes and into another box. Of course, it didnât even make him flinch. âRight behind you bossâ¦â He growled in a deep morning voice.
âScaryâ¦â
