Chapter 79
JUNE
PRESENT TIME
This is crazy. I confronted Ravel about the news of the baby, only because I wanted to know what his plan was about the
news.
Things did not go as planned for me at all. This wasnât what I envisioned. When I heard he want to Seattle and returned, I expected him to hiss at the mention of Hazelâs name, but he seemed rather comfortable discussing her, if not happier. Yes, he found out about pascal, but I wouldnât have confined my relationship with pascal if Ravel didnât treat me like Iâm one of his home furniture that he has to dust and keep clean.
I am a woman, and a woman has needs that has to be fulfilled, needs order than money and that is where Pascal fits in. Ravel is the end game for me, and Iâm not going to stop at nothing until I have Southwark as my last name.
Pulling over at Anneâs parking lot, I got down and headed for front door only to be stopped by her security. Had it been any other day, I wouldnât have minded that heâs doing his job, but today, I am pis sed; so f ucking pis sed that if I had a gun, I would have considered shooting. âMrs. Southwark knows Iâm coming,â I spat, still glaring at him, ânow get out of my face.â
Ignoring my outburst, he spoke into his mic, confirming my claim before pushing the door open to grant me entrance into the house. âBe rest assured that if Anne ever asks me to make a request, getting you fired will be one of them.â I spat.
He stared at me with a stoic expression, unfazed by my threat. Maybe to him, it holds no water; one of the reason why I will definitely add more value and respect to my name by getting the Southwark name added to mine.
When I walked into the living room, one of her staffs led me up to her room. Anne was out at the balcony facing the garden with a cup of coffee on her right hand and a laptop on her thigh. She looked up as I stepped into the balcony. âWhat makes you think you have unlimited access to my house?â
Of course she is going to be rude about it. It runs in their godd amn blood vessels. âBecause despite our obvious dislike for each other, we have a mutual understanding towards a particular person.â
Closing the laptop, she gave me her undivided attention. âAnd what could that be?â
Without waiting for her to offer, I pulled out the other chair and sat down, mimicking her by crossing both legs. âYou agreed to help me make sure Ravel doesnât end up Hazel.â
She scoffed. âAnd yet they look like they are getting more closer and bonded.â She sipped her coffee.
âWhat do you want this time?â Her cold eyes regarded me. âIâm sure you already have a plan in mind, although I doubt it will work out. The universe seems to be in support of their silly feelings towards each other.â
I frowned, my fist clenching with anger. âWhat is that suppose to mean?â
Tilting he head, she stared at me, almost amused. âThey finally got divorced, something that could have severed whatever connection they have, but then Hazel fell pregnant. Theyâve been trying for a child all these while and it never happened then suddenly when they are ready to go on their separate ways, the baby came. Hazel keeps it a secret all these while and the moment Ravel showed little interest in her, the news about the baby was published all over the internet.â
I winced. âThat was me.â It is so embarrassing to admit to that.
Anneâs brows arched. âWhat was you?â The intensity of her gaze made me look away. Suddenly, she released a chuckle. âYou leaked the news about the baby?â
I bit my lower lips, already regretting my decision to do that. âIt seemed like a very good idea to me then, so I did it.â
Anne continued to stare at me in a manner that will make even men nervous. âIt was a good idea for me and my son because you made the existence of a Southwark blood to us known, but for you and what you desire, I do not see how that was a good idea.â Her fingers intertwined. âHow did you even find out about the little girl?â
Chapter 79
âRavel hosted a birthday party for Hazel here in New York.â I revealed and Anneâs brows jumped to her hairline. âI found out about it and was furious, so I headed to the venue of the party to confront him and possibly crash the party, but then I overheard Elenor and Hazel arguing about the little girl, just outside the penthouse. Apparently Elenor knows about the baby and was persuading Hazel to tell Ravel ASAPâ
Anne nodded thoughtfully. âI get the picture now.â My nose crinkled at her cryptic words. âYou figured Hazel was going to tell Ravel eventually, but you wanted him to hear it elsewhere so he will be furious at Hazel for keeping such big secret from
him.â
I guess my plan backfired. âCan you believe he is planning on taking some days off work just to go to Seattle and spend time with Hazel and her daughter.â
âHis daughter.â She corrected and I nearly scoffed, âDid he tell you that heâs going on a trip to Seattle?â
I shook my head and she glared. âThen how did you find out?â She hissed, âare you merely speaking base on speculation?â
âIâm stating fact.â I argued, defending myself. âAnd donât ask me how I found out, I have my sources.â
âYou had better not be spying on my son.â She spat. âIâll end you faster than you can imagine if you do that.â
Biting my inner cheek to stop myself from saying my thought out aloud, I focused on the major reason Iâm here. âSurely, Ravel feels angry towards Hazel for hiding his child, even if the anger is just one percent, I want to stretch it into something bigger.â
âAnd youâre coming to me because?â
âBecause I need your help.â I stated bluntly, since she has decided to pretend not to know the real reason Iâm here. âI want you to help me.â
She stared at my unblinkingly. âIâm only doing this because I do not want that woman raising my grandchild.â Iâm sure Hazel doesnât want her raising her daughter too, so the feeling is mutual. âLetâs take away her means of livelihood.â
My eyes widened. âYou want to close down her art gallery?â This woman is pure evil. âIf sheâs busy trying to save the gallery, sheâs going to be too busy for Ravel.â
Iâll never underestimate this woman. âYou want to close down her art gallery just so she gets too busy?â
If we all werenât trying to survive, I would have actually pitied her.
âIâm doing it to create the rift between her and Ravel. Isnât that what you wanted?â She questioned and I nodded in response. âYou have two roles to play in this. First, I need a contact of one of her art suppliers,â
âAnd how do you suppose I get that?â I interjected.
âI donât care, youâll get me the number, and while I work my magic, youâre going to make Hazel and the rest of her team believe that Ravel is the one sabotaging her business.â
Perfect! After everything Ravel has done to her in the past, her walls will go up high after
