Chapter 35: Epilouge-01

Amay ~ Her Twist of Fate [Book #1 in Her Series] ✓Words: 24697

Tina walked into their room silently, her face devoid of any emotion.

She sat on the edge of the bed, staring blankly at the floor.

Ayush stood near the door, watching her with a mixture of concern and guilt.

The room was filled with a heavy, suffocating silence.

He walked over to the table, poured a glass of water, and held it out to her.

"Paani lo," he said softly.

("Have some water.")

Tina looked up at him, her eyes briefly meeting his.

She took the glass from his hand and gulped the water down without saying a word.

Ayush quietly placed the empty glass back on the table, his eyes still fixed on her.

She stood up abruptly, her movements stiff and uncertain.

"Ayush," she called, her voice trembling.

He hummed in response, waiting for her to continue.

Tina took a deep breath and said, "Agar tum chaho toh mujhe divorce de sakte ho. Tumhari mom ne jo kaha... woh puri tarike se galat nahi tha. I am not good enough for you."

("If you want, you can divorce me. What your mom said... it wasn't entirely wrong. I'm not good enough for you.")

Ayush remained silent, his gaze unwavering as he let her finish.

She avoided his eyes, but he could see the vulnerability in her every word.

After a moment of silence, he asked, "Tum sach mein chahti ho ki main tumhe divorce de doon?"

("Do you really want me to divorce you?")

Her heart sank at his words, and tears welled up in her eyes.

She struggled to keep her emotions in check and nodded hesitantly.

"Fine then," Ayush said, his tone devoid of any warmth. "Main tumhe divorce de dunga. Hum kal hi lawyer ke paas chalte hain aur divorce ka procedure start karwate hain. Okay?"

("I'll divorce you. We'll go to the lawyer tomorrow and start the divorce process. Okay?")

Tina was left numb, the words hitting her like a blow.

She didn't know what to say or how to respond.

Before she could gather her thoughts, Ayush turned and left the room, leaving her standing there, frozen in place.

In the hall, Aarushi stood in shock, her entire world crumbling around her as the truth unraveled.

The man she had always looked up to, her father, Bhupendra Agrawal, was involved in something as heinous as human trafficking.

Her heart ached with betrayal, and disgust filled her every pore.

Bhupendra, standing a few feet away, watched the horror in his daughter's eyes.

The guilt that had been simmering inside him now tore him apart completely.

He stepped forward, his hand reaching out to her.

"Aarushi... beta," he began, his voice weak and broken.

"Ruk jaiye," Aarushi snapped, her voice trembling with a mixture of anger and pain. "Aapne aisa kyun kiya, Papa?"

("Stop right there, Why did you do this, Papa?")

Bhupendra froze, unable to meet her piercing gaze.

He had no answer to give her.

No justification could erase what he had done.

"Aapko kabhi mehsoos nahi hua ki jo aap kar rahe hain woh galat tha?" Aarushi continued, her voice rising with every word. "Aapki bhi ek beti hai... agar koi mere saath aisa karta toh aapko kaisa lagta?"

("Did you never realize that what you were doing was wrong? You have a daughter too... how would you feel if someone did this to me?")

Bhupendra flinched at her words as if she had struck him.

Each sentence was a dagger to his already bleeding conscience.

He opened his mouth to speak but found himself mute, the weight of his actions rendering him speechless.

Aarushi's eyes filled with tears, her voice cracking. "Aapke paas jawab kyun nahi hai, Papa? Kyunki aapko pata hai ki aapne jo kiya hai, woh maaf karne layak nahi hai."

("Why don't you have an answer, Papa? Because you know that what you've done is unforgivable.")

Bhupendra's shoulders slumped, the full realization of his sins crashing down on him.

The irony of his position-standing before his daughter, seeking forgiveness for the unforgivable-was not lost on him.

He didn't have the courage to speak, nor the right to ask for redemption.

The silence that followed was deafening, filled with the weight of regret, betrayal, and broken trust.

The Agarwal mansion was shrouded in silence, yet no one seemed to find peace in the stillness.

The weight of unspoken words and unresolved emotions hung heavy in the air, like a suffocating fog.

Ayush sat on the edge of his bed, staring blankly out the window at the pitch-black sky.

The events of the past few days replayed in his mind like a haunting melody.

Tina, curled up on the sofa, silently kept an eye on Aarushi, who hadn't spoken much since the revelations about their father.

Aarushi lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling with tear-streaked cheeks, her mind a whirlwind of anger, betrayal, and sadness.

Bhupendra, alone in his study, gazed at the family photo on his desk.

His guilt weighed heavily on him, but he knew there was no escaping the consequences of his actions.

A knock at the main door jolted the household from their restless states.

Ayush, still dressed in his nightclothes, came downstairs to see two uniformed police officers standing at the threshold.

He frowned, his heart sinking.

"Officers, what brings you here?" Ayush asked, his voice steady despite the tension in the air.

One of the officers stepped forward, his expression firm but neutral. "Mr. Ayush Agarwal, hum yaha Mr. Bhupendra Agarwal ko arrest karne aaye hain."

("Mr. Ayush Agarwal, we are here to arrest Mr. Bhupendra Agarwal.")

Meena appeared at the top of the stairs, her face pale and her eyes wide with fear.

The officer continued, "Bhadresh Rao ne apna statement de diya hai, aur unhone kaha hai ki Mr. Bhupendra Agarwal bhi human trafficking racket chalane mein shaamil the. Rao ne kuch solid evidence bhi provide kiya hai jo unka involvement proof karta hai."

("Bhadresh Rao has given his statement, and he has said that Mr. Bhupendra Agarwal was also involved in running the human trafficking racket. Rao has also provided some solid evidence that proves his involvement.")

Ayush nodded slowly, his shoulders slumping.

He had no words to refute the officer's claim because he knew it was the truth.

Bhupendra stepped out of his study, his head bowed.

He didn't resist or argue.

He knew this was coming, and in his heart, he had already accepted his fate.

The officers approached him. "Mr. Bhupendra Agarwal, you are under arrest."

Meena collapsed into Ayush's arms, sobbing uncontrollably. "Ayush, what has happened? Why has our life changed so much?" she cried, her voice breaking.

Ayush held her tightly, his own eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Maa, papa ko unki galti ki saza mil rahi hai. Yeh zaroori tha. Aap shaant ho jaaiye," he said, his tone firm yet soothing.

("Mom, Dad is getting the punishment for his mistake. This was necessary. Please, calm down.")

As the officers led Bhupendra away in handcuffs, the Agarwal family stood by the door, watching their world crumble further.

Meena sobbed into Ayush's chest, Aarushi turned away from the scene, and Tina's eyes lingered on Bhupendra for a moment before she returned to comfort Aarushi.

In Shekhawat Mansion, the atmosphere was thick with shock and disbelief.

Tara and Anirudh were sitting in the living room, their eyes glued to the television screen as the news of Bhupendra Agarwal's arrest flashed across the screen.

Both were taken aback, Tara's hand clasped tightly around her cup of tea, the warmth from it doing little to ease the cold that seemed to have settled in the room.

"How is this even possible?" Tara whispered, her voice barely above a murmur. "Bhupendra Agarwal... involved in something as horrific as this... with Bhadresh Rao?"

Her eyes searched Anirudh's, seeking an explanation that neither of them could offer.

Anirudh leaned back on the sofa, running a hand over his face. "I never expected this," he muttered, his voice heavy with disbelief. "I knew that Bhupendra Agarwal was involved in some shady dealings, but this... This is beyond anything I could have imagined."

Meanwhile, Suman was sitting on the sofa in the living room, her gaze distant as she processed the news.

Her heart ached for Ayush.

No matter what, Ayush had always been her best friend.

She had known him for years-his dreams, his fears, his kindness.

The man he had grown to be was someone who deserved better.

And now, with his father's actions exposed, Suman felt a strange pang of guilt.

Despite everything, she couldn't help but feel for him.

Her concern for him was more than just friendship; she couldn't shake the worry that lingered in her chest.

"He doesn't deserve this," she murmured to herself, brushing a stray lock of hair behind her ear.

Amay, who had been silently watching the scene unfold, felt a similar weight on his shoulders.

"I knew this day would come," Amay said, his voice low. "Ayush didn't deserve any of this. He's a good man, Suman. But having a father like Bhupendra... it's always been a concern for him."

Suman nodded silently, her eyes meeting Amay's for a brief moment.

She understood exactly what he meant.

"Despite everything, I know Ayush," she said softly, almost to herself. "He'll get through this. But right now, he's probably feeling more alone than ever."

Amay's expression softened, and he walked over to Suman, placing a hand on her shoulder. "He's not alone, though. He's got his wife beside him," he reassured her gently. "But I can't imagine the pain he's going through right now."

At that moment, the news shifted to the reconstruction of the collapsed building, and Amay's attention turned to the television.

The media had been relentlessly questioning Ayush's involvement in the collapse, but Amay had made sure to clear his name.

His voice had been firm, his stance unwavering.

Ayush had no connection to the collapse, and Amay had ensured that the media knew the truth.

"They're finally starting to realize that Ayush had no part in it," Amay said, his tone taking on a more resolute edge. "The reconstruction is moving forward, and soon enough, this whole mess will be behind him."

It was true; Ayush would be able to rebuild, just like the collapsed structure.

It was just going to take time, and Suman hoped he'd be able to find peace amidst all the chaos.

But for now, the weight of everything hung in the air, and all any of them could do was watch as the world shifted and changed around them.

⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕

It had been 15 days since Bhupendra Agarwal's arrest, and the Agrawal family was slowly finding a semblance of normalcy.

The chaos that had once threatened to tear them apart was gradually subsiding.

However, there was a tension in the air that couldn't be ignored-one that had nothing to do with Bhupendra's actions but everything to do with the fragile marriage of Ayush and Tina.

Ayush and Tina sat in front of the lawyer, the weight of the silence between them heavy.

Tina's hands were clasped tightly in her lap, her posture rigid, while Ayush sat beside her, his expression unreadable.

They had come to this point after what felt like an eternity of unresolved tension.

It had started the moment Tina had told him he could divorce her-and he had not uttered a single word since then.

The lawyer, a seasoned professional, broke the silence. "So, what brings you two here today? What is the reason for your divorce?" he asked, his gaze shifting between Ayush and Tina, expecting some form of explanation.

Ayush turned to the lawyer, his voice steady but strained. "Sir, she wants a divorce, not me."

He pointed at Tina, his finger unwavering as his eyes met hers.

Tina's eyes widened in shock.

She had expected the conversation to be difficult, but she hadn't anticipated Ayush's bluntness.

The lawyer looked at her now, his gaze curious and probing.

"And why do you want him to divorce you?" the lawyer asked, his tone professional yet direct.

Tina swallowed hard before answering, her voice barely above a whisper. "Sir, our marriage happened without Ayush's consent. I forced him into it. He was in love with someone else when we got married."

The words felt like they were dragging themselves out of her mouth, and once they were said, she couldn't take them back.

The lawyer turned to Ayush for his response, his eyebrows raised in surprise. "Are you happy in this marriage?" he asked, his voice holding a hint of curiosity.

Ayush's response was immediate, his voice firm, though it was clear that there was a deep internal conflict within him.

"Absolutely, sir," he said, his gaze steady. "I admit that before I met Tina, I was in love with someone else, and our marriage happened against my will. But over time, I grew to like Tina, and I am happy in this marriage. But she wants a divorce."

Tina sat there, stunned.

The words he was saying were nothing like what she had imagined.

She had expected him to at least express some anger or frustration at the situation, but instead, he was throwing her under the bus.

She couldn't understand why he was doing this.

The lawyer looked from Ayush to Tina, his eyes narrowing as he processed what he had just heard. "Tina, do you have anything to add?" he asked, his voice softening, giving her a chance to explain.

Tina stared at him, unsure of what to say.

Her thoughts were a chaotic jumble. "I... I don't know what to say," she murmured, feeling utterly lost in the moment.

She glanced at Ayush, her heart sinking as she saw the emptiness in his expression.

With a heavy sigh, she shook her head. "No."

The lawyer sighed deeply, rubbing his temples as he tried to make sense of the situation. "Look, it's clear that neither of you wants a mutual divorce," he said, his tone weary but firm. "You need to think long and hard about whether you want to go through with this or not."

He glanced at both of them one last time, his expression baffled. "You can leave now," he concluded, clearly at a loss for words.

Ayush stood up immediately, his movements swift and purposeful, as though he were eager to leave the room.

Tina followed behind him, her eyes burning with anger.

She couldn't understand what had just happened.

She was the one who had suggested the divorce, yet Ayush's response was to paint her as the villain in the situation.

As they walked out of the lawyer's office, Tina's fists clenched at her sides, the anger inside her boiling over. "What was that, Ayush?" she hissed under her breath, her voice tight with frustration. "Why did you make me look like the bad one?"

Ayush didn't respond at first, his jaw clenched as he walked ahead.

He was lost in his own thoughts, the weight of everything pulling him in different directions.

After a long pause, he spoke without turning around. "Because that's what you wanted, Tina. You wanted me to divorce you. But I won't make it easy for you."

⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕

Ayush had thrown her under the bus without a second thought, and now, as they approached the Agrawal mansion, Tina's anger only continued to simmer.

As Ayush was about to open the car door, Tina suddenly reached forward, grabbing his hand with surprising force.

Her eyes were fiery with a mixture of frustration and confusion. "You can't just walk away like this," she snapped, pulling him toward her. "You can't do this without explaining things to me. You owe me that, Ayush."

Ayush's jaw clenched, the simmering anger inside him bubbling over.

He turned to face her, grabbing her shoulder roughly and pulling her toward him with a force she didn't expect.

"You want an explanation?" he said, his voice low and dangerous. "Fine. I'll give you one."

Before Tina could respond, he pushed her into the car, his movements quick and forceful.

He slammed the door shut, his anger practically vibrating in the air as he stalked around the car to the driver's side.

With a single motion, he started the engine, the car roaring to life as he drove at a speed that felt reckless.

Tina didn't know what had come over him, but she could tell he was beyond angry-this wasn't the Ayush she knew.

The car skidded to a halt in front of the Agrawal house, and Ayush got out of the car before Tina could even gather her bearings.

He opened her door with a harsh grip and pulled her out with such force that she stumbled slightly.

Her heart was racing, and though she wanted to protest, she found herself speechless as he grabbed her hand tightly and dragged her toward the house.

He practically slammed the door of their room behind them, the room echoing with the force of it.

Tina flinched, her eyes wide with confusion and a tinge of fear.

She took a step back, instinctively trying to retreat, but Ayush's eyes were locked onto hers-angry, but there was something else there too.

A deep, gut-wrenching emotion that Tina couldn't place.

"Ayush," she said softly, her voice trembling. "We can talk about this, please."

Ayush took a step forward, his voice cold and cutting as he spoke. "We are talking, Tina," he said, his gaze sharp. "Oh, I forgot. You wanted an explanation, right?"

Tina's heart raced, a mixture of confusion and anticipation building inside her.

She didn't know where this was going, but she could feel the storm brewing within Ayush.

With a sudden move, he grabbed her by the arms and pulled her closer. "Toh tumhe muhjse divorce chahiye," he said, his voice a low growl. "Samajhti kya ho tum apne aap ko? Jab mann kiya, jabardasti shaadi kar li. Jab mann kiya, mere dil mein apne liye jagah bana li. Jab mann kiya, mujhe itna pagal kar diya ki mujhe tumhare alawa ab koi aur nazar nahi aata."

("So you want a divorce from me. What do you think of yourself? When you wanted, you forced me into marriage. When you wanted, you made a place for yourself in my heart. When you wanted, you made me so crazy that now I can't see anyone other than you.")

He paused, his grip tightening as he took a deep breath. "Then it wasn't enough for you. Toh ab tumhe divorce chahiye? How dare you?" he shouted, the pain in his voice evident despite the fury in his words.

("Then it wasn't enough for you. So now you want a divorce? How dare you?")

Tina was frozen, her mind reeling.

She hadn't expected this.

She had expected him to be angry, yes, but she hadn't realized just how deeply it would hurt him.

She was about to say something, but Ayush wasn't finished.

"Maine maa ke samne tumhare liye stand liya, vo tumhe nazar aaya," he continued, his voice cracking. "Lekin tumse apne pyar ka izhaar bhi kiya, vo sunai nahi diya tumhe. Tumne kabhi mujhe samjha hi nahi."

("I stood up for you in front of mom, did you notice that? But I also expressed my love for you, and you never heard it. You never tried to understand me.")

Tina's breath caught in her throat.

She had no words left to say.

The truth was unfolding before her, and she could feel the weight of it pressing down on her chest.

The pain in Ayush's voice, the confusion in her own heart-it was all too much.

Ayush took another step toward her, and this time, he cupped her face in his hands, his gaze intense. "Koi baat nahi ab acche se suno," he said, his voice softer, but still full of emotion. "I love you, Tina. I love you. And I'll say it again, louder: I bloody love you."

("No problem now listen to me carefully now, I love you, Tina. I love you. And I'll say it again, louder: I bloody love you.")

Tina's eyes widened in disbelief.

Her heart was pounding in her chest, the words he had just spoken crashing into her like a wave.

She couldn't process it.

She had never imagined this moment, never thought that Ayush would love her back.

But hearing those words now, it felt like the world had shifted beneath her feet.

"Aaj ke baad, muhjse dur jaane ka socha bhi, toh main tumhe apne saath bandh ke rakhunga, hamesha ke liye," Ayush said, his voice low but firm, as if making a promise he intended to keep.

("From today onwards, if you even think of distancing yourself from me, I'll keep you bound to me, forever.")

Tina's eyes filled with tears, her heart overwhelmed with emotions she couldn't even name.

She hadn't imagined this kind of love, this kind of intensity.

Everything she had thought she knew was now turning upside down.

She felt her knees weaken, but Ayush was there, holding her, keeping her steady.

For the first time, she realized that all the pain, all the confusion, had led her to this moment.

And it was nothing like she had expected.

⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕

Tina stood there, her mind a whirlwind of emotions, unable to process Ayush's heartfelt confession.

Before she could utter a word, her shock turned to utter disbelief as Ayush suddenly grabbed her by the waist, his hand slipping behind her neck, and slammed his lips onto hers.

Her eyes widened in shock, but she barely had time to react before the intensity of his kiss consumed her.

He claimed her lips with fervor, taking both of them in his mouth and sucking hard, his passion leaving her breathless and squirming.

Tina instinctively clutched his torso for balance, while Ayush's firm grip on the nape of her neck pulled her impossibly closer.

This wasn't just a kiss-it was a declaration, an explosion of pent-up emotions, and a hunger that seemed to have been simmering for ages.

Tina felt a knot form deep in her stomach as her knees grew weak, barely able to hold her up.

If not for Ayush's steady grip on her, she would have collapsed to the floor.

His lips moved with such fervor that she barely had a chance to breathe, and just as she thought she might faint, he finally released her lips.

They both panted heavily, their foreheads almost touching as they tried to catch their breath.

But before Tina could fully recover, Ayush began peppering her neck with kisses, his lips igniting a trail of fire down her skin.

Her breath hitched, and an involuntary moan escaped her lips, "Ayush..."

The sound of his name leaving her mouth seemed to spur him on.

He sucked on the sensitive skin of her neck, making her shiver and cling to him even tighter.

After what felt like an eternity, Ayush finally pulled back, his eyes locking onto hers with an intensity that sent shivers down her spine.

His voice was a low whisper, yet it carried the weight of his feelings. "Ab bhi mujhe chhod ke jaana hai?"

("Do you still want to leave me?")

Tina, still dazed and overwhelmed by everything, slowly shook her head. "No," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Ayush smirked, his expression dark and possessive. "Good," he said, his voice dripping with finality. "Because if you ever think about leaving me again, the consequences will be worse than this."

His tone sent a spark of heat straight to her core, and she blushed, feeling utterly overwhelmed.

Gathering her courage, she smiled softly and murmured, "You're already taking my breath away."

Ayush's smirk deepened. "Nice to know I'm capable of that," he teased, his voice softer this time.

Tina's heart swelled as she looked up at him. "I love you, Ayush," she said, her voice filled with emotion.

Ayush's expression softened, and he leaned down to place a tender kiss on her forehead. "I love you too, Tina," he whispered. "I love you so much. Tumhe pata hai, main kitna darr gaya tha jab tum gunpoint pe thi." His voice cracked slightly at the memory. "Vaada karo, ki aaj ke baad kabhi apni zindagi ko aise daav pe nahi lagogi."

("I love you too, Tina, I love you so much. Do you know how terrified I was when you were at gunpoint? Promise me that from now on, you'll never put your life at stake like that again.")

Tina smiled mischievously, her fingers tracing his jawline. "Agar baat tumhari hui, toh main hazaar baar aisa karungi," she replied, her tone teasing yet full of love.

("If it's about you, I'll risk it a thousand times.")

Ayush groaned in exasperation, shaking his head. "Why do you love me so much, Tina?" he asked, his voice tinged with awe and frustration.

She smiled, her eyes glistening with emotion. "I don't know, Ayush. I just do. I love you, and I always will."

Ayush cupped her face, his thumb brushing her cheek before he leaned in and kissed her again.

This time, the kiss was slower, filled with love and passion, and Tina reciprocated with equal fervor.

Their world melted away as they lost themselves in each other, their love sealing the promise of forever.
