Amay lay on his bed, the room dimly lit by the moonlight streaming through the balcony doors.
In his hand, he held the delicate bracelet with charm beads that clinked softly with the gentle breeze.
He smiled, finding the sound soothing and pleasing to his ears.
"Suman..." he whispered, his thoughts drifting back to their brief but memorable encounter.
The way her eyes sparkled, her smile, the innocence she radiated-it all left an indelible mark on his heart.
Feeling a sudden surge of protectiveness over the bracelet, he quickly stood up and walked to his closet.
He placed the bracelet carefully in a wooden box, as if it were a precious treasure, and tucked it safely away.
He closed the box and took a deep breath, closing his eyes momentarily to relish the memory.
In the Mehrotra house, Suman and Namita were busy sorting through clothes and jewelry in preparation for Suman's engagement to Ayush, which was just three days away.
Suman's excitement was dampened by the fact that Ayush hadn't called her or answered any of her calls.
Namita noticed her best friend's disappointment and gently nudged her, "Sumi, why are you upset? It's your engagement in three days."
Suman sighed, looking at Namita with worry in her eyes. "I don't know, Namu. I'm restless. Ayush hasn't called me yet."
Namita tried to console her, "Chill, Sumi. Maybe he's just busy with something important."
Suman shook her head, frustration evident in her voice. "What could be more important than our engagement, Namu?"
Namita sighed and sat next to her on the bed, "Okay, fine. Don't be upset. Just look at your engagement dress; it's so pretty. And I've sorted out the jewelry too. It's beautiful, and you'll look stunning in it."
Suman glanced at the dress and jewelry laid out in front of her, a small smile tugging at her lips. "You're right, Namu. They are beautiful."
Namita added with a reassuring tone, "Call Ayush tomorrow morning. And if he still doesn't answer, let me know. I'll give him a piece of mind, okay?"
Suman chuckled, nodding her head. "Okay, I'll call him."
The two friends continued chatting, their spirits lifted.
After some time, they had dinner, and on Shobha's insistence, Namita stayed the night.
The two girls lay in bed, talking late into the night, sharing their hopes and dreams for the future.

The tension in the Agrawal house was palpable as Meena confronted her son, Ayush, in the living room.
Ayush stood with clenched fists, trying to maintain his composure, but Meena's persistence was wearing him down.
"Listen, son, just leave that Suman and marry Tina," Meena insisted, her tone firm and unyielding.
Ayush, already fuming from the knowledge that his mother hadn't bought the ring for Suman, felt his patience snap. "Enough, Mom!" he shouted, his voice echoing through the room. "I have told you many times, and I'm telling you this for the last time, so listen loud and clear: I am not going to marry that Tina. In three days, I'm getting engaged to Suman."
Meena's eyes narrowed, her frustration evident. "That girl and her family are not as rich as Tina's. Why don't you understand?"
Ayush scoffed, his anger rising. "Oh, so everything is about money, right?"
Meena crossed her arms, her expression unyielding. "So what? What is wrong with thinking about money and financial background? Tina is rich, comes from a powerful background, and she is the only daughter of her parents. After marriage, all their properties and assets will be yours. Think about it, son. You will become more successful. Suman will not bring any assets or money. She is just a primary school teacher, and her father's business is not that powerful."
Ayush was horrified by his mother's greed.
He looked desperately at his father, Bhupendra, who was sitting idly by, seemingly indifferent to the argument.
"Dad, don't you have anything to say?" Ayush pleaded, hoping for some support.
Bhupendra glanced at his son, then at his wife, and sighed. "Listen, Ayush, Satya and I were longtime friends, but your mother is right. Tina will be the best asset for our family and business."
Ayush felt a wave of despair wash over him.
He was powerless in front of his parents' greed and ambition.
He knew that even if he married Suman, his family would never let her live peacefully.
Adding to his frustration, he had not yet received any confirmation from the Shekhawat's regarding his business deal, leaving him feeling trapped and hopeless.
Unable to bear the suffocating atmosphere any longer, Ayush turned on his heel and stormed out of the house.
His younger sister, Aarushi, saw the distress on his face and wanted to talk to him, but he left before she could say a word.
Ayush stepped out into the night, the cool air hitting his face as he tried to calm his racing thoughts.
He felt a mixture of anger, frustration, and helplessness.
How could his own family prioritize wealth over love and happiness?
He needed to clear his mind and find some solace, even if only for a moment.
As he walked down the street, Ayush thought about Suman-her kindness, her strength, and the love they shared.
He couldn't let his family's greed destroy what they had.
But the weight of the situation was heavy, and he didn't know how to protect Suman from the impending storm.
Back in the house, Aarushi watched her brother leave, worry etched on her face.
She knew how much Ayush loved Suman and how difficult this situation was for him.
She wished she could help, but felt just as powerless against their parents' greed.
ââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
The day of the engagement arrived, and the Agrawal family left for the Mehrotra house.
Ayush and Aarushi were the only ones who seemed genuinely happy.
Their parents were neutral, with Meena particularly displeased and angry.
The Mehrotra house was decorated beautifully, with flowers and lights adorning every corner.
The engagement was a family affair, so only close family members were present.
Satyajeet had extended an invitation to the Shekhawat's, but due to unforeseen circumstances, they couldn't attend.
Anirudh Shekhawat had to leave for an important business meeting in Australia, leaving his son, Amay, to handle the Shekhawat legacy and take care of his mother, Tara, who was a bit unwell.
Anirudh's constant calls to check on Tara had irritated Amay, though Tara found her husband's overprotective nature amusing.
Amay was tending to his mother, who was now feeling better.
Tara teased Amay about how Anirudh's constant calls had annoyed him. "Your father is just worried, that's all," she said with a chuckle.
Amay sighed. "I know, Maa, but he doesn't need to call every ten minutes."
Tara smiled. "He loves us both very much. Besides, I'm feeling much better now".
Despite the Shekhawat's absence, the Mehrotra's made sure the event was joyous.
Satyajeet was initially disappointed that his dream of marrying his daughter to Amay Shekhawat couldn't be realized, but he accepted Suman's love for Ayush, albeit with some reservations.
He was aware of the Agrawal family's greed and orthodox views, particularly Meena's closeness with Tina Rao.
Satyajeet knew Bhadresh Rao's reputation in the business world-his wealth was tainted by illegal activities, making him a person Satyajeet didn't want his daughter associated with.
The Agrawal family arrived at the Mehrotra house.
Ayush and Aarushi stepped out first, smiles on their faces.
Meena followed, her expression sour, while Bhupendra maintained a neutral demeanor.
Satyajeet and Shobha welcomed them warmly, though Satyajeet couldn't help but notice Meena's displeasure.
Ayush's eyes scanned the room, finally landing on Suman.
She looked stunning in her engagement attire, and a wide smile spread across his face.
(Suman's Engagement Outfit)
Suman reciprocated, her eyes lighting up at the sight of Ayush.
The families gathered around as the ceremony began.
Suman and Ayush stood together, exchanging shy glances.
The priest conducted the rituals, blessing the couple and praying for their happiness.
Ayush slipped the engagement ring onto Suman's finger, his hands trembling slightly with emotion.
(Engagement Ceremony)
Suman did the same, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness.
Aarushi watched her brother with a proud smile, while Meena's disapproval was evident.
Bhupendra remained silent, observing the proceedings.
ââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
As Satyajeet watched the ceremony, his mind wandered to his initial hopes of a match with the Shekhawat's.
He had high regard for Anirudh Shekhawat and knew that a union with their family would have been prestigious and secure.
However, seeing the happiness on his daughter's face as she looked at Ayush, he knew he had made the right decision.
Suman's happiness was paramount, even if it meant marrying into a family with some concerns.
He also noted Ayush's genuine affection for Suman.
Despite his misgivings about the Agrawal family, he believed Ayush would be a good husband.
His worries about Meena and her closeness with Tina Rao remained, but he resolved to keep a watchful eye to ensure Suman's well-being.
The engagement ceremony concluded, and the families mingled. Meena kept to herself, her disdain for the Mehrotra's evident.
Aarushi tried to lighten the mood by engaging in cheerful conversations, but the tension was palpable.
Suman and Ayush stole a few moments alone, away from the prying eyes of their families. "I missed you," Ayush whispered, holding her hands.
"I missed you too," Suman replied, her eyes sparkling with love. "I'm so happy we are finally engaged."
Ayush smiled, feeling a surge of happiness. "Me too. No matter what, we will face everything together."
As they returned to the gathering, both Suman and Ayush knew that challenges lay ahead, but their love gave them the strength to face whatever came their way.
ââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
Tina was in a rage, throwing things around her room.
The sound of shattering glass and crashing objects filled the air.
Her father, Bhadresh Rao, rushed to her room, alarmed by the commotion.
He opened the door to see the mess Tina had created-broken vases, scattered books, and torn curtains.
Tina herself was a mess, with tears streaming down her face and bruises on her hands from the destruction she caused.
"Dad, please do something!" Tina cried, her voice breaking. "My Ayush is engaged to that behenji Suman. Please, Dad, I love him. You have to do something!"
Bhadresh's heart ached at the sight of his distraught daughter.
Since Tina's mother passed away, he had done everything to give her the life she wanted, often spoiling her to ease her pain.
Now, he saw the consequences of his indulgence.
Tina's obsession with Ayush was beyond reason, but he couldn't bear to see her so miserable.
He approached Tina cautiously, his voice soothing. "Tina, calm down. We will find a way. So what if he's engaged? I promise you, his marriage will be with you, not her."
Tina's tears slowed, and a sinister smile spread across her face. "Really, Dad? You'll make it happen?"
Bhadresh nodded, though his heart was heavy. "Yes, my dear. I promise."
Meanwhile, Amay was completely unaware.
He often found his thoughts drifting to the girl he met at the temple, Suman, not knowing she was now engaged.
At the Mehrotra house, Suman and Ayush were basking in the joy of their engagement.
They spent every moment they could together, planning their future and dreaming of their life as a married couple.
Suman's restlessness had faded, replaced by the excitement of their upcoming wedding.
Unbeknownst to Suman and Ayush, a storm was brewing.
Tina's obsession and Bhadresh's determination to fulfill his daughter's wishes were about to set events in motion that would challenge their happiness.
Destiny was preparing to intervene, threatening to turn their lives upside down.
Bhadresh Rao stood by his daughter's side, his mind working on a plan.
He knew the path ahead was fraught with challenges, but he was determined to secure Tina's happiness, no matter the cost.
As he looked at his daughter's tear-streaked face, he vowed to do whatever it took to bring Ayush into their family.
Tina, emboldened by her father's promise, began to dream of a life with Ayush, convinced that their love story was meant to be.
She couldn't see the impending consequences of her obsession, nor the impact it would have on the lives intertwined with hers.
The engagement day had been a success, but the true test was yet to come.
The calm before the storm was ending, and destiny was about to play its hand.
