This chapter is dedicated to ModernWolf2, who didn't give up on this story when I went MIA for a few months.

I drew in a breath to calm myself before I politely knocked on the door of Alpha Leyton's study, to let the people inside know that they were about to have company.

Alpha Leyton gave me a quick look of confusion because he couldn't understand why I bothered to knock instead of just entering like he normally would. However I figured that Beverly's parents were in for a lot of shocks in the next few hours, so they deserve the few curiosity's I could manage at the moment.

I heard a male voice speaking in a very unsure tone directly after I knocked. "Come in."

I opened the door and entered ahead of Alpha Leyton as my position of princess demanded. Both of Beverely's parents had stood upon the two of us entering the room. They both wore expressions that were unsure and scared.

Beverly's dad was a tall man for a human. He was solid but not fat and had a strong face. His dark brown hair was already half grey as the color appeared to branch out from his temples. He was still dressed in his lab coat from work, giving him the slight impression of being a mad scientist. When in fact he was a bio engineer working on the development of vaccines.

Beverly's mom was a short plump woman who had the incredibly kind face of a mother. Her dyed honey blond hair came down to her shoulder blades and I remember Beverly telling me once that she worked as a bookkeeper as well as taking care of the kids.

"Is Beverly ok?" Was the first question out of Beverly's father the moment we walked through the door.

"Beverly is fine and has not been hurt emotionally or physically." I reassured the middle aged man as he seemed to relax slightly. "However something unexpected has occurred and we need to discuss it with you, as well as the implications."

I made my way over and sat in Alpha Leyton's chair as Alpha Leyton sat in the corner of the room and Beverly's mother asked a question. "If Beverly is fine, then why have we been asked to drop everything and rush here like it's an emergency?"

I sat down and got comfortable before I answered her question. "Unfortunately something has happened to your daughter that needs to be discussed with you in detail."

"I'm princess Eva by the way." I said as I extended my hand towards Beverly's father then mother for an introductory handshake. What I was not expecting was for the two adults to bow afterwards.

"Please don't bow." I chuckled at the pair with a smile. "I've only been given this position recently and honestly have no idea what I'm doing."

I gestured for Beverly's parents to sit while I got comfortable on Alpha Leyton's chair. I even considered stealing this chair from my Alpha, it was that comfortable.

"So what do you know about the origins of werewolves and how dragons fit into that picture?" I asked the duo in front of me while looking directly into their eyes, to show that I wasn't joking and completely serious.

"We don't know a lot other than the werewolf race is old and has always been ruled by the same blood line." Beverly's mother answered after a moment's hesitation.

"Well that's correct, although missing a huge amount of detail." I said with a warm smile. "What I'm about to tell you of our origins is one of the most heavily guarded secrets in the werewolf world. I'm only telling you this because it directly relates to Beverly's situation. So whatever you hear in this room must never leave this room. Is that understood?"

Both of Beverly's parents nodded at me with slight apprehension. I drew in a breath before I once again told the true story of how werewolves came to be. "I should get paid for repeating this story if I keep having to tell it." I casually thought halfway through the telling.

It took nearly an hour to complete the retelling to Beverly's parents and they must have thought I was a little crazy, judging by the look in their eyes.

Once I was finished the pair sat there for a couple of minutes to organize their thoughts before Beverly's mother finally spoke. "That sounds like a nice fairytale Your Highness, but what does it have to do with our Beverly?"

I sighed before gently replying. "Unfortunately it's not a fairy tale and because somehow a living baby dragon managed to find us and bond with your daughter. The bond is known as a Yirdirr bond, or partner bond. It's not a mate bond like with werewolves, but they will be inseparable for life. Kind of like some of those dragon rider movies I've seen the pups watching."

Apparently I hadn't convinced the parents in front of me as they both had the look of people waiting for the punchline to a really bad joke, or someone to come out and announce that it's all for reality TV.

"Both your daughter and her dragon Dasir are upstairs sleeping if you don't believe me." I informed Beverly's parents. "All I ask if that you don't wake them up because the bond is being established between the two. It could be potentially fatal to disturb them over the next few hours until they wake up on their own."

"I'm going to have to see this to believe it." Beverly's father spoke for the first time since I started with our history lesson.

Anything else we had to say was interrupted by an incessant scratching at the door. Even from out here I could hear John excitedly calling. "Eva, Eva, Eva. Big sister."

Alpha Leyton chuckled from his seat over in the corner. Actually that was the first sound he'd made since we both entered his study. He'd just been observing me the entire time.

"It's adorable how much John loves his sister." Alpha Leyton commented while chuckling. "You may as well let the tornado in since he won't stop until you do."

I rolled my eyes in agreeance before apologizing to the two humans present for the disturbance. John still hadn't paused in his scratching at the door or calling for me.

I opened the door a little too suddenly for John. He lost his footing as he was scratching the door and managed to fall and summersault into the room.

It didn't slow him down at all though. Within seconds he was back on his feet and running laps around Alpha Leyton's study at full speed and yipping happily. Until he noticed Beverly's parents and altered his course to crash into them.

"Sorry about my little brother." I said to both of Beverly's parents. "He's just a kid that wants lots of attention."

I watched as Beverly's mother's body language changed from confused to excited. In an instant she had crouched down and started playing with John by running her hand through his fur and letting him mouth it as she went.

"Why is he in wolf form inside the pack house? I thought that was frowned upon." Beverly's father asked confused.

"It is if you're a werewolf." I admitted, thinking of the mess that our wolf forms could leave in the pack house designed for humans. "However John here is a natural wolf, he doesn't have the ability to shift into human form."

"Wait, I'm playing with an actual wild wolf pup?" Beverly's mother asked as she seemed to get even more excited at the prospect.

"That's correct." I confirmed. "Believe it or not I was actually raised by a pack of wild wolves. The rest of the pack is housed in those odd looking buildings just off the pack house as we offered them a safe place to stay after someone nearly destroyed their pack. The natural wolves and werewolves have even integrating with each other extremely well so far."

"So that's why there are so many wolves around when we drove in." Beverly's father commented. "If they're all natural wolves then I commend your pack on getting them to live peacefully."

"Wolves are a very smart species and we have the advantage of being able to speak with them. It makes explaining the rules in a way that they can understand and respect a lot easier." I admitted.

"Now, what's so important that you barged into this meeting for?" I asked sternly as I turned my attention to John, who was still lapping up the attention.

"Did you know that Beta Nathan was in the pack house?" John asked me. "Apparently he was sick but now he's woken up he's all better."

"Beta Nathan woke up as himself?" I asked surprised. Maybe there was a chance for all the natural male wolves that had been forced to serve as Alpha Tim's slaves after all.

"He did." John responded. "I made everyone promise that I could tell you instead of that magical mind link thing you werewolves do. It's so unfair that my new friends can do it and I can't."

"Life is unfair." I teased my brother. "Now if you'd kindly stop distracting them, I need to take Beverly's parents to see their daughter."

"Ooo, is that the girl who bonded with the dragon?" John asked innocently as one of my eyebrows went up.

"How exactly do you know about that considering it's meant to be a secret?" I asked John in a stern voice.

John looked guilty as he replied. "When I went up to check if you were in your room I found Saffron's white and silver wolf guarding a door fiercely. So I continued to annoy Grace until she gave in and told me what was so special about the room."

I groaned as I lifted my hands to rub my temples. My little brother was giving me a headache.

"Don't worry Eva. I already promised Grace that I wouldn't tell anyone." John said with an innocent look on his face, causing me to sigh.

"Ok then." I said, believing that John will stick to his word. "Why don't you go with Alpha Leyton now. He needs plenty of help after all." I said to John while stressing the word plenty and hoping that Alpha Leyton takes the hint to entertain my brother elsewhere for the moment.

"Why don't you go and bring Luna Kate to the pack house." Alpha Leyton told John with a grin. "I'm sure she'd love to be reunited with her former beta."

John responded by yipping his agreement and taking off for the door at full speed. He realized a little too late that the door was once again closed and proceeded to smash into it. The poor boy was going to damage his brain if he didn't slow down soon.

After a few moments of being stunned, Alpha Leyton let John out of the room before following him. John once again bolted away at full speed, not having learned his lesson from his crash a minute ago.

"Sorry about that." I apologized to Beverly's parents while they just tried not to laugh at John's display. "Shall we get going to see your daughter?"

Both parents responded by simply following me out of the room and into the elevator. We stepped out of the elevator and heard a growl coming from the direction of where Beverly was.

"Don't worry about that." I told Beverly's parents. "That's just Saffron being protective of Beverly. Apparently she won't let anyone near while she's unconscious. She'll let us through though."

Beverly's parents gave me the look of 'have you lost your mind'.

"You do know that Saffron is a human who is mated to a werewolf. She's not a werewolf and she can't growl like that." Beverly's father tried to explain to me.

"Not anymore." I replied with a small smile. A second or two later we rounded the corner and saw Saffron's white and silver wolf guarding the door of the room where Beverly was resting. A few meters away stood Grace, Detsy and Luna May looking frustrated.

"Thank the goddess you're here." Detsy said when she saw me, just before she came over and wrapped me in her arms. A couple of seconds later I felt another pair of arms circle us both and knew Grace had joined the embrace.

"Saffron isn't letting us anywhere near Beverly and Dasir." Grace informed me. "We can't even check to make sure that they're alright."

"They're ok I promise." I said easing into the warmth of my mates before turning around on the spot to face Beverly's parents with Detsy's arms still around me.

"This is Beverly's parents." I introduced too my mates. "They've heard the story but are having a bit of trouble believing in dragons."

I turned to address the duo in front of us. "These are my mates. You would know them as Princess Grace and Princess Detsy." I said as once again the eyes of Beverly's parents went wide and they bowed rather awkwardly.

"It's a genuine please to meet you." Grace said while holding out her hand for them to shake.

With the formalities over I turned my attention to Saffron. "Thank you for guarding Beverly, but I'll take over now. I want you to go shift back and put on some clothes before you come back here." I said in a firm voice to ensure she knew that I wasn't asking.

Saffron gave me an annoyed look before grunting and slowly wandering off in the direction of the elevator. Not saying anything the entire time.

I went to open the door to Beverly's room with her parents in tow when I heard movement from inside the room. Beverly had woken up.

I opened the door slowly and stepped inside as Beverly's parents followed me as quietly as they could.

Beverly was waking up as we entered the room and sat up with her back resting against the headboard when she realized she had company. Dasir proceeded to jump up on her shoulders and drape himself over the back of her neck.

Beverly's parents couldn't even form a sentence upon seeing that I wasn't joking when I was talking about dragons. Although that fact that Beverly now had the same sky blue eyes as Dasir may have also spooked them. Either way they both had their mouths hanging open, ready for flies to explore.

Beverly casually gave Dasir a scratch under his chin. It was adorable to see him stretch his neck out like a cat.

"So I hope I never have to go through that again, it hurt." Beverly said playfully while looking at me.

I smiled cheekily back as I answered. "I promise neither of you will have to go through anything like that ever again."

"Good, although I have to ask, what happens to Dasir and me now? Do we have to stay at the pack house with you?" Beverly asked.

"I see Dasir has already told you most of what happened." I stated as Beverly nodded her head in confirmation.

"To answer your question, you are not a prisoner here and are welcome to live anywhere you want. But considering recent events I'm going to make sure that there is a room made available for you in the pack house whenever you want it." I informed Beverly. "I bought your parents here so the four of you could make an informed decision together."

Beverly was going to say something else but never got the chance as Saffron entered the room now clothed and in her human form.

She went straight to Beverly and enveloped her in a hug as well as giving Dasir a scratch behind his ears, like petting a baby dragon was the most natural thing in the world.

Saffron's appearance also prompted Beverly's parents to regain control of their bodies and start hammering Beverly and Saffron with questions.

I quietly slipped out of the room while they had their reunion and thought of how busy the last couple of weeks had been.

"What would it take to get some time to relax with my mates?" I thought before putting my game face back on and re-entering Beverly's room to help sort out her and her dragon's fate.
