I hurriedly unlocked my door and opened it, I walked in with her trailing very close behind me.
I sat my things down and walked towards the steps leading to my room. "Where are you going?" the unnamed girl asked frantically as lightning lit up the windows from outside. "To change." I said, a drop of water going down from my hair to my neck, causing me to shiver.
"Don't go." She made a slight sound as thunder rumbled. "I have to, just, wait here. I'll be back soon." When I turned to leave again, she put her hand on my shoulder which made me freeze.
I was definitely not expecting this.
"Don't, please. Can I at least come with?" I licked my lips and squeezed my hands as I thought. I sighed and shook my head. "Okay, fine." Her shaky hand left my shoulder and she walked behind me as I traveled up the stairs.
"Are you going to wait out here?" I asked once we got outside of my door. "No." I sighed once more and walked through my door. Once I had grabbed my clothes I turned towards the bathroom door, not wanting to change in front of her, for far more important reasons than being uncomfortable.
"Stay here." She obliged with a simple, "okay" and I when she did, I walked in and shut the door. I quickly changed my clothing and walked back out, I put my wet clothes into my basket and lifted my head, only to freeze at the site of her, her back turned to me.
My breathing picked up, not knowing what to do I just stood there and kept my eyes on her while she picked up one of my favorite books and began fiddling with it, turning the pages and letting her fingers run across the edges.
She was wearing white, I couldn't tell if it was a shirt or a dress because the pillows on my bed were blocking my view. Her brunette hair was cascading down her back, it reached down to the middle of her body. She was... Gorgeous, from what I saw.
After taking a moment of collecting myself, I cleared my throat. "Uhm..." I didn't know what to say, I was truly speechless. She froze as well, and I could tell that her body was tensing. Being hit with the realization that I wasn't supposed to see her, I let my eyes drift away to the ground.
I heard her get up off of my bed. "You saw me, didn't you?" Worry laced her voice, I could hear it. She obviously didn't expect me to be out at that time, she let her guard down. Which was a bad thing for her to do if she wanted to keep up this mysterious act.
I hesitated greatly before saying, "Yes." Never in my life did I think I'd feel shame and awkwardness for barely even seeing someone, not even all of them. "Only your back, though." I clarified.
"Oh, okay. You seeing only me from behind isn't as bad. I guess. Just please, warn me next time." I was still beyond confused as to why I couldn't know anything about her or even see her. It just, didn't make any sense to me, at all. But I nodded and said a small, "Yeah." Before running my fingers through my hair.
I suddenly got hit with the feeling of hunger so I asked, quickly changing the subject, "Are you hungry?" Even though I couldn't even see her as a person, it doesn't mean I couldn't make her food. I didn't mind and I couldn't just be rude and make food without offering.
"No, uh... I don't really get hungry much." The rain was pouring, causing loud tapping to be in the background of our conversations.
"How could you not get hungry?" I furrowed my eyebrows, curious as to what she meant.
"I just-" With that, a flash of white light filled my vision, cutting her off, before I could even compose myself and understand what was happening, thunder began to shake the ground.
I blinked my eyes as it continued, it went on for a few more seconds. I looked up, trying to collect myself, my heart pounding from the sudden light and sound, and she wasn't there.
