"Hi girls." I went up to where the girls were sitting in the canteen. They were sitting on a round table beside the window. Our usual place.

"What's up girl? What happened to your face?" Latifa asked setting her fork down.

"Got cold." I sat down beside Sabrina facing an empty chair while they faced each other. Scarlett was nowhere to be seen.

"Poor you." Sabrina rubbed my back while Latifa pulled back a little in her chair.

"Don't come near me. I hate cold." Latifa grunted and I glared at her.

"So where is Scarlett again?"

"The girl danced and drank hard on a party last night. She couldn't come today." Latifa took a bit of her food.

Damn I feel sorry for her.

"Guys, tonight it's the boxing match in that gym that I told you about. Do you want to go with me? It's at 7pm, an hour after my training." I told them everything that happened yesterday including my suspicion on my brother except my encounter with Amir. That was unnecessary to mention.

"I can. I have nothing to do anyway." Latifa shrugged my shoulders.

I turned to Sabrina and by the look on her face, she can't.

"Sorry I can't, I have work." she said.

I opened my mouth to speak but halted when the whole canteen whispered loudly when three gang members walked in like they owned the place. They might as well shout.

Amir, Lucas and Keith walked side by side. Lucas has headphone on probably listening to music. Keith smirked and winked at the girls who looked like they were about faint of joy. And lastly Amir looked bored but his eyes searched the place as if he was looking for something.

I froze when his eyes met mine and smiled slightly. And to my horror he and the others walked towards our table.

What is he doing? Their table is the other side of the canteen.

As if on cue Zahra glared at me from across the room where the popular table is located.

Why me tho? I didn't make them come here.

Amir dropped himself on the seat in front of me smirking, while lucas faced Sabrina and Keith in front of Latifa.

Our table was full and the students started gossiping, no doubt the entire school will know about this in five minutes.

Latifa had a disgusted face on and glared at Keith as he winked at her amused. Sabrina's gaze focused on her food not even bothered.

I looked up at Amir and hissed. " what are you doing here?"

The jerk was still smirking. "We decided to change our mood and watch the trees a little. Do you have any problem with that, lion?"

Lucas's brows rose a little and basically ignored his best friend by saying "You look a little off today. Are you okay?"

I shotted a look at Amir's direction and smiled genuinely to Lucas. "I'm fine, just tired."

He returned back the smile which made Amir's jaws twitch and his eyes darkened.

I glanced at him but turned my attention to Lucas. "So? How are you?"

"Same as always, nothing new." he leaned slightly.

Keith and Latifa are still having a staring battle while Sabrina studied the three of us like she's watching some movie.

My nose started to run and I needed a napkin fast. So I excused myself and went out of the canteen to a washroom nearby.

I nearly screamed as soon as I stepped in front of the mirror. Dang I look horrible.

It looks like the powder I used to hide the redness of my face didn't work at all and melted on my face making it worse.

My face was red and you could see my throat swollen. I was a little warm but that was nothing compare to the headache I was currently having.

I will go down to the nurse and lay down a bit. Luckily I did both of my tests and it went just fine.

I washed my face and dried it with a paper towel. With a sigh I went out only to find Amir leaned on the wall beside the door.

Does he know that he look really dashing? The way he lazily stood there not caring about anything, I say no.

I moved trying to pass him but he caught by my wrist. "Hey" he breathed.

"What do you want?" I said softly, throat is hurting a little and I don't even have the energy to be harsh.

He was shocked for a moment, I don't blame him because this was probably the first time I spoke softly to him.

He brought up his hand to my cheeks while his other one is still holding my wrist. As soon as his cool hand connected with my warm face the hair on the back of my neck rose, goosebumps started to play in my skin.

I pulled away and his hand dropped. "Go home." he ordered. I narrowed my eyes at him wondering who does he think he is. "Excuse me?"

"It's an order." he pushed.

"Not today Amir. please go away, I can't deal with you today." before he could say something I slipped away and made my way to the nurse.

Luckily he didn't follow me.

"Coach I'm not feeling well today so I monitor the runners instead?" I asked my track coach on the track field.

Even after 3 hours in the school, I've been feeling sicker and sicker. Today I had training for the upcoming New York sport tournament in two months. The tournament is held twice in a school year and it's between all the high schools in new york. This time is actually my second time.

Usually we had training two times a week now it's been increased to four times from on this week for the tournament.

There's 15 runners in the girls team and 20 in the boys and we train together. In fact, every sport teams in our school has the same training lesson time.

A week before the tournament the coach will decide who in girls team and the boys will be representing our school. It doesn't have to be the captain of the team, just the fastest runner.

I and Keith have been selected as the captains by our coach last year.

"Yes, of course you can. You can go home and rest if you feel weaker." Coach Bethany said softly.

"Thanks." I smiled and went to sit on a chair in front of the field with a paper and a pen in hand. That way I can see what every one of them should improve on.

The runners ran one after another and I was noting everything down until laughters distracted me.

I turned around in my seat to see Keith and his team chatting and laughing instead of practicing.

Keith had black long sleeved shirt with a sport shorts. With his short black hair and chocolate brown eyes, he seem to capture the girls in our school's eyes.

Not to mention he's the school's player, I'm not even denying that he is really handsome. Just not my type.

They're not even trying to warm up, considering the fact that we lost last year to another school. The girls and boys team both lost. If it was me that competed I would have won, I hope this year the coach choose me.

I didn't realized I was staring until Keith caught me, held my eyes and winked making me whirl back facing the field.

I got up, crossing to where the girls were and announced what each one of them needed to practice more.

Some of them lacked stamina, others needed to build up some leg muscles and some had a problem with how to run properly without hurting themselves.

The practice was over rather quick and I stayed behind still sitting on the chair to breathe a little. I think the medecin I took from the nurse and the rest I took worked. My headache stopped and I felt lighter actually. My phone rang and showed Latifa on the screen.

I picked it up. "Yeah?"

"Are you done? The match is going to begin in 30 min."

"Yes, wait for me on the parking lot."
