Amir's POV

I climbed out of my car and glanced at my watch to see if I wasn't late. Keith repeatedly reminded me to get there in time and his nagging isn't exactly my favourite thing to hear.

I've done nothing today, just laid on bed most of the time. After last night, I couldn't bear to get out of my room.

First my body ached from the result of the fight I had. Those bastards actually dared to team up against me. They were 5 against me that why they managed to land some punches on just because they lost the car racing to me.

What can I say? I'm just the best and no one can beat me.

And the second thing on mind was Layla. I don't know what took over me and hug her and ask her to stay.

What was wrong with me? I never act like a baby but in front of her I just couldn't help it. She looked worried about me yesterday, was it because I was gone for 3 days.

I didn't want to see her and I was just taking care of some losers that wanted to bring me down, funny they even got together to form gangs. Which was cute.

I went inside the hall wondering if Layla will come. I haven't seen her this morning. Wait, why am I looking for her?

I felt a hand on should and i turned only to meet Lucas. "Hi, I heard what happened last night. Are you okay?"

I smirked "You should worry about them, they didn't look as handsome as me."

He snorted a d rolled his eyes "Typical. By the way you know this is party right. Why are you dressed in black?" He look at me up and down.

Beside him, I look like a devil, exactly how I wanted to look, with his all while and blue and a dark blue mask. Not bad.

"It's called style, bro and yes that's a thing."

"Wooow man you look evil with that costume." Keith smiling came over to us and bro-hugged me. "Here comes the birthday boy" I smirked.

"Happy birthday, K" Lucas beside me said.

"Thank you, thank you." He grinned and glanced at the hall filling up with people wearing masks. I actually don't get the meaning of masquerade party. I can clearly see who everyone are with or without mask.

"Where is Khaled?" He asked.

"There." I gestured behind him and he found Khaled walking up to us. He looked stressed.

"What the heck, guys? I was lost and searched for you in past 20 min. Keith where on earth did this idea of a masquerade party came from?" His mouth scowled.

"It's fun and interesting to watch people confused, besides I watched Romeo and Juliet and I still can't get it out my head. It was tragedy bro." Keith bro-hugged Khaled.

"Everyone knows it was a tragedy and how they died was bullshit. Why would you even kill yourself for another person?" I said.

Keith looked at me like I grew another head. "What?"

"Dude, it's true love." He gasped.

"And what do you know about that. You're the one to talk, changing girls every night. When will you actually have a serious girlfriend?"

He scoffed at the thought "When you fall in love."

I can see Scarlett having fun at the middle of the hall and my eyes can't help but to search for Layla. What is that girl doing to me? I was gone for the past 3 days just to get away from her.

She occupied my mind like it's hers these days. Man, I getting whipped. No, I can't let her change me. I was planning on divorcing her after I take over the company from my dad.

He won't transfer it to me single and forced me to marry Layla to punish me for car racing. Yeah he found out from God knows where. It's not like it will stop what I do, she won't make any difference in my life. I'll make sure of that.

Still searching for her, wondering if she'll even come, the giant doors opened and revealed the most gorgeous girl in the world which made me forget my vow.

Layla looked breathtaking, even with her gold mask I could see her features clearly. Everyone turned to see who the three hijabis are and were stunned by their beauty, but one of them caught my eyes.

She owned the party and made the other half naked girls bashful with her modesty. Keith beside me whistled "Who do we have here?"

Khaled asked "who that?"

Right, this idiot can't even recognize his own sister. It's clear that there are the only hijabis who are friends with Scarlett.

Under her gold mask her mouth curled upwards when she heard a squeal from her birthday friend.

"That's Layla and her friends." Lucas stated as a fact.

"Really, man I'm the worst brother ever. Which of them is her?" Khaled scratched the back of neck.

"The one in the green dress." I answered. She looked beyond words in that colour. I watched her every move as she laughed and wiggled her body slightly with her friends.

My body stiffened when she turned around as Scarlett pointed at her brother beside us. I think they're coming over.

"Ay let's not reavel ourselves ok? That will make it more interesting."

My phone buzzed and showed a message from Zahra.

That girl doesn't really get the hint that I want nothing go do with her. I was just playing with her before but now she became so obsessed with me, I started to back off. God she is like a glue.

'Come outside, I'm waiting for you.' Scarlett didn't invite her which was not a surprise at all knowing their relationship.

Somehow Zahra gets in everyone's skin yet she does not affect Layla and her gang. And then she added 'if you don't come out, I'll wait here til you do.'

I don't exactly care about her but I'll make sure she understands that she means nothing to me. So I started walking away from the guys and to the door before Layla really had us.

Unsurprisingly I didn't need to walk further to find her.

I winced when I saw her caked up face and tight clothes. Where is the natural beauty in that?

"Open your ears and listen carefully, I'm only going to say this once. I'm not interested in you and never will so stop acting like you mean something to me. You don't. And never, never text me and demand like you own me. Go and find another guy to play with."

And without checking her respond I turned around and went inside. She knows better than to think I'm a puppet.

As soon as I went inside, my eyes connected with Layla's masked face standing with Lucas giggling.

I felt anger raising up inside me. Why would she laugh? With Lucas of all the people. She's mine dammit.

Suddenly a slow song came on and people began choosing a partner to dance.

I walked up to Layla as her eyes widened I grabbed her hand and dragged her to the stage. She tried to pull away but I held her waist to stop her and squeeze it a little to claim her.

I smirked and stared direct into her bright blue eyes which made her went still for a few seconds before she gasped "Amir?"

What are your thoughts on this? Do you like Amir? Who is your favourite character so far?
