Amir's POV

Layla is going with me to London.

What if she finds out what happened to my mother? What will her reaction be then? Will she blame me like I do?

I suddenly got nervous while all kind of thoughts spined in my mind. When father told me that I was going I thought of how much I'll miss Layla and even ask father if she could go with me but when it happened for real I had doubts.

I don't want her to know about my past.

"Amir?" A voice echoed and I snapped from my thoughts.

"Are you okay son?" It was Layla's mother.

"Yeah, sorry. You were saying?" I looked at Layla. Today she's been avoiding me a lot. I looked for her at school and didn't find her.

I didn't really mean to stand half naked in front of her this morning. She looked disappointed somehow, I wonder why...

"I was asking if you will also play on the upcoming tournament next week." She kindly repeated herself.

You can really notice that Layla has more of the attitude of her father than her mother. Her mother reminds me of my own. Kind, loving and caring.

"Yes, I'll play basketball."

"That's really great, we definitely be there to root for you two." Her father gestured to me and Layla.

"You guys better win." The little brother narrowed his eyes and Layla smiled as she punched his cheeks and said "of course we'll win who do you think we are?"

And the conversation got long. We talked about everything as the time went by fast. Before we know it we were on our way home.

Layla rode with me just when we came here. The ride was silent but not before Layla broke the silence.

"You know if you don't want me to go to London with you, you just could have said it."

So that's why she looked disappointed the entire dinner. She actually thought I didn't want her with me. On the contrary actually, I want want her beside all the time, every hour.

"What? What do you mean?" I asked nonetheless.

She turned to face and I felt her gaze while I focused on the road.

"You looked unhappy after your father suggested it." Her voice was calm but I could sense her nerves ticking.

"I was thinking Layla, I wasn't unhappy."

"Stop lying Amir, as usually you never let anyone in and keep secrets." She looked outside of the window.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I said as I stopped the car frowning. She turned and faced me. Her eyes on fire, anger was clear on her face.

"I mean you're always out every night doing Allah knows what and then somehow you don't want me in London." She snapped.

I narrowed my eyes at her trying to figure out what had just gone wrong. She was stressed I could see it.

I can't tell her where I go every night, she will never be safe from those thugs.

"Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if I want to go with you now. For all you care you going to leave me alone in a foreign country just like every night. Do you know how lonely I feel? To suddenly be alone in apartment after you grew up in a loud house?" She continued to babble.

I had no idea that's what she felt. I'm an idiot for leaving her like that and of course she'll get suspicious, she's not stupid.

"Layla.." I started softly still trying to figure out why she's angry "I can't stay with you some nights."

"You can't?" She scoffed and then frowned "wait, you're not a drug dealer are you?"

"No!"

"Then what do you do that's so important." She threw her hands up.

"It's nothing important and I can't tell you." I avoided meeting her eyes. Man she is stubborn and will not let this slide easy. "And beside it is against the rule we set."

"Since when you follow the rules?" She snapped again.

"Stop asking! Dammit it is none of your business!" As soon as I said it I wanted to take it back. But she was already out of the car.

Damn my mouth I shouldn't have said that, I pounded on the steering wheel before I went after her.

Layla's POV

Who on earth does he think he is?! Screw it, I'm done waiting for him to talk. I don't even know why I am angry.

Ugh... it's my period near?

I hope not but I can feel it's on the way because of my mood.

I just want to home and eat chocolate.

By the way where am I?

"Layla!" Amir shouted from behind me.

I walked even faster before I felt a hand on my arm that pulled me back.

I whirled to face him.

I think I'm having a deja vu.

"Do you just run whenever you get mad?" He clenched his jaw. He looks ho-

Layla!! What are you thinking?!

"Let me go." I glared at him.

"No." He shouted and my eyes got suddenly teary. I feel like crying now. Tears ran across my cheeks and Amir looked panicked.

"W-what is wrong with you? Did I do something wrong?" He searched my face with his eyes wide and grabbed both of my forearms.

"I want chocolate." I whined like a baby and Amir looked like he was considering throwing me from a window.

Thought there was no windows around. I can't blame him, I can't control my emotions they're overflowing. And right now all I was thinking about was chocolate. And chips. You can't forget about oreos and M&M.

"Let's go back to the car and I'll buy you whatever you want."

"Really?" I beamed.

His eyes sparkled with amusement. "Really."
