Chapter 17

:Zachary/Sophia

The gravel shifted under my paws as I walked forward with a eerie stealth as I paused my ears perked up listening closely to the things around me as I crouched low to the ground. How had I missed the scent of a deer? Then again my mind was overflowing with joy at the thought of getting Sophia back I needed her back I wanted her back.

Licking my lips I watched closely as the well aged buck walked slowly towards me his head held high showing off his 10 point rack as I eyed his flanks his hind quarters were large and meaty making my mouth water as he paused lowering his head to nibble on brush as I took my chance springing up at him my teeth latching onto his throat clamping down on his wind pipe blocking his air as he gave a gargled grunt  sound as I took him down his body thrashing as I jerked my head twice hearing a snap I dropped his neck his body twitching as I paused waiting for death to sink in as I moved to the stomach nudging as I sunk my teeth through its fur ripping and tearing it aside I peeled it away from the flesh till I was in the middle of it my muzzle deep in organs and blood as I found the liver eating in large chunks the taste of blood making my paws curl as I fed happily till I was full.

Pulling back I withdrew from my kill licking my muzzle clean as I looked around walking in a brisk pace as I shrunk to the ground when I reached the small garden, sniffing the ground the rich smell of Blake’s blood tickled my nose the lingering scent of Tanners as well. But I couldn’t smell Sophia growling in annoyance I lifted my head my ears perked as I listened closely to the forest the birds went silent as I trotted forward along the path following Tanners scent that lead me through brush that would have been difficult if I were in my human form.

Sniffing I paused when I glanced around it had brought me to the edge of a highway, had I been in such a deep thought that I forgot what I had been doing?

‘your back again’ pausing I moved away from the fox spirit that stood in front of me with a growl its body was puffed making it look bigger as it took a step towards me. ‘why are you back again?’ the voice echoed around me chilling my blood as I moved away.

Barking out I gave a little whine as it moved closer.

Backing away from it I turned and bolted. Wimpy? Yes because no wolf no matter what wanted to challenge someone like that. Growling under my breath as I found myself back near my car I shifted back into my human form. Picking up my folded clothes I shoved them on with a deep sigh as I ran my hands through my hair.

I followed his scent I found out nothing just the place were Blake had been struck into fear. Yet there was another scent I couldn’t place as I walked to my car. Getting in I reached for the keys under the seat and started up the car.

‘I will find you’ I whispered as I pulled out into the road drumming my fingers over the stirring wheel as I listened to the beat of “Let Love Bleed” by Sleeping with Sirens. I wanted Sophia by my side right now next to me talking to me chatting with me. Entertaining me with her little chatter. I wouldn’t mind if she talked a lot I wouldn’t mind if she stayed quiet. Just to be near her is enough for me. Sighing I pulled into Walmart’s driveway, parking I got out.

I planed on having Sophia home within the week and I needed to get my house in tip top shape for her. Walking I glanced around grabbing a cart as I walked to the freezer section.

I knew she liked pizza rolls, flaming hot chicken wings, the seasoned fries, the simple things but I also knew she liked to get creative and cook parmesan chicken and noodles, or Mongolian beef. Sighing as I put the items in the cart I went to the linen section. Checking the sheets and blankets I paused at the soft grey sheets and blanket set. Tossing it in the cart with the tiger fluff blanket with five pillows I went to the check out.

Paying for the things I got I loaded it back into the cart and made my way to my car.

Leaning back into my chair I glanced at my bed it was covered with the new blankets and sheets. My room as ready I had added another dressers and a place for her shoes. Sighing I licked my lips as I took a drink of my cherry coke.

‘When you think about it-,’ the second time today I was pulled into his body having to watch them having to see them smile at each other or come up with an excuse to touch each other. It sickened me but yet after it all I was great full that that is all I seen…

‘I don’t want to think’ Sophia pouted as she crossed her arms over her chest. ‘thinking’s to hard my head hurts and I’m tired I don’t want to shop no more’ she continued to pout with her arms crossed over her chest. She looked cute how her bottom lip stuck out as she looked at me-no him. He adored her and it stung to feel the swell of emotions he felt as he fought the urge to kiss her and take her in his arms.

‘we have to get you some clothes, your starting school tomorrow’ he reminded her with a chuckle.

‘I have five pairs of pants and ten shirts, that’s good enough for now my feet hurt!’ she stomped her foot and glared at him.

Picking her up she gave a little yelp. ‘then I’ll carry you, you need more then that I hope you know’

‘have someone buy it for me I don’t care bout clothes’ she muttered with a whine as she looked around. Were they in Hollister? ‘the clothes here are so dull they all look the same just different colors’

‘fine how about we go to fashion bug I hear they have things that are different’ he offered as he walked out of the story carrying her.

Shrugging she gave a grumble.

‘come on its your first day in a new school tomorrow. Don’t you want to look good?’ she nodded. ‘then shop till you drop I thought girls liked to shop’

‘that is if they were allowed to go out’ she answered dryly. ‘Zachary made Drake keep me away from most things girls my age did, the Luna of the pack bought me things I never went shopping because Zachary didn’t want me talking to no one’

‘well you need to get use to it cuz you will be shopping and you will be making friends.’

‘what will I tell people when they ask were I live? You cant be my uncle or anything’ she joked lightly.

‘You can say you live with your boyfriend, that’s what I could be.’ He answered softly.

Blinking she looked up at him with wide eyes. ‘Boyfriend?’ she whispered out in awe her eyes were wide as she got a dorky grin on her face. ‘I’ve never had a boyfriend before’  flinching at the word I felt my heart quench the ice I had wrapped around it to harden it broke melting away as agony clutched me when she wrapped her arms around his neck as he went to set her down. Arching her back she smiled up at him for a second before she pulled away.

‘two more stores and we can go’ he announced making her grin. Nodding she let him lead her into a store which she fell for as she explored the dazzling shirts.

‘Ben still isn’t back from taking the bags’ she noted as she chose three tang-tops that showed a daring V cut all the same design just in different colors a red, grey and white zebra prints. Handing those off to him I gave a little groan wishing I could get away from this. ‘o look a these!’ she showed him black skinny jeans. ‘wouldn’t that look good with the shirts?’ nodding he took the pants.

‘get the grey and white one’s to too match the shirts.’ A female pointed out that was lingering near them a smile on her lips looked to inviting for our liking, and by ours I meant neither I or Tanner liked how she was looking at Sophia.

Wrapping an arm around her Sophia looked up at him and raised an eyebrow. ‘what you think?’

‘I think it’d look good on you’ he answered soberly giving her a kiss on the cheek.

Nodding she found her size and handed them off quickly getting distracted by the sight of jewelry across the room, pulling him in tow behind her she looked it over with a sigh as she looked it over. ‘I was thinking sense I got the clothes I should get jewelry to make it all match’

Rolling his eyes he simply nodded. ‘if you say so’

Sucking in a shaky breath as I blinked a couple of times finding the familiar shade of blue of my room. Pushing up I stood and walked to the window noting at how late it had been…how long had I been in his body? How long could I stay in his body?

Rubbing my face I gave a little frustrates sigh. Even though I hated seeing him in her life I loved seeing her. I savored her scent each time he inhaled yet it hurt to watch how she watched up.

Looking out my window I turned away, walking I went to the kitchen and glanced around. Giving a deep little sigh I frowned I hated how empty it was I wanted Sophia.

“ If Sophia had been locked up in our room none of this would have happened”      Tallon growled out to me.

“if she hadn’t of found out about us so soon none of this would have happened, our mate should have kept her mouth shut” I answered back with a growl.

“If you had told her about us from the start she would of known the danger we could have been with her right now” he answered roughly making me flinch.

“you know as well as I do that, that couldn’t of happened! Not with you as a wolf you were to uncontrollable when we had first found her you wanted her. She was to young for us to be fully mated with” I answered with a growl. “so its all your fault we weren’t able to be with our mate at that time.”

“don’t put the blame fully on me our mate was ready at the age of 14 she wanted someone to love her, needed someone to love her and protect her and you denied her that by not telling her about us” he hissed out to me making me flinch.

“our mate was safe and that’s what matters!” I answered to him quickly with clenched hands.

“our mate is experiencing her first at many things with someone who isn’t us. If we had been there with her we’d of been her firs but no. You let your human instincts take over and your lust blinded you making you think that you could sleep around with Bonnie. You chose Bonnie over our mate” he growled out in a hateful voice.

Opening my eyes I was face with two grey eyes. ‘You sleep to much’ blinking I took in the sight of Sophia. Glancing between us I realized she was straddling me. ‘why aren’t you looking for me yourself?’ she demanded suddenly snapping my eyes back to her face lingering on her lips. ‘why are you having other people do what you should be doing?’ she demanded in a firm voice as she looked down at me her brows knitted together as she scowled at me.

Licking my dry lips I shrugged as I watched her closely. ‘Sophia?’

Sitting up straight she slapped me. Blinking up at her in shock I felt my mouth sag slightly as I watched her…really? Had she just really slapped me. ‘who did you think it was’ she gave a sharp curse that snapped me back to attention as I watched her stumble off of me. crossing her arms across her chest she stomped away from the bed glancing around. ‘yuki right? Tanner was right you are a ass’

‘Your cursing’ I whispered in shock.

Growling at me she looked away which was sort of cute because it had that human hint to it sense she wasn’t a wolf like me.  ‘you’re a disgrace to all mates’ she announced stiffly holding her nose up in the air as she looked down at me. crawling out of bed I walked to her. This wasn’t me in his body this was me and her. She was here. But how?

‘Sophia?’

‘yes who do you think I am?!’ she threw her hands up in the air I thought it was cute at how mad she was getting by just looking at me. ‘I’m sorry I’m not Yuki’ lunging at her I engulfed her in my arms holding her tight to my chest feeling her curves press into me as she struggled trying to push away from  me yelling and screaming at me. ‘I HATE YOU!’ the words stung making me loss my breath as I held her away from me to look at her.

‘And I still love you’

Looking away she gave a little frustrated puff. ‘you sent someone else, you’re a pathetic mate I just thought you should know that’ she pouted.  ‘I wish I didn’t meet you then your actions wouldn’t hurt me so much’ she whispered in a shaky breath.

‘I didn’t mean to hurt you’

‘yes you did, you did each time’ she answered stiffly. ‘why didn’t you just reject me in the beginning if you were going to go back to her’ she demanded with tears in her eyes.

‘I hadn’t-’

‘don’t lie to me!’ pushing me away she stepped back. ‘I know you were with her right after you found me’ she glared at me with wrathful eyes.

‘and you’ve been with him more then that the whole time we’ve been separated’ I answered through clenched teeth.

‘so you have seen’ she stepped away with a little laugh. ‘and here I was thinking I was imaging that look in his eyes.

‘what look? What are you talking about’

‘you were forced to see it too weren’t you?’ she asked in a mere whisper.

‘to see you and that bastard yes’

‘So I wasn’t the only one who had to witness those awful things.’ blinking at her she looked away. ‘after we met, each time you took her I had to see, I had to witness it made me sick I couldn’t see…I was in so much pain but when Tanner held me and kissed me’ she gave a miserable sigh. ‘he made me feel better and get away’

Looking back at Zachary I pushed my hair away from my face. ‘I know this bond between us is breaking because we’re far away. Ben says that sense I’m human being attached to you isn’t so strong as it would be if I were like you.’ I explained as I moved around the room noting how it looked different from the last time. ‘it could kill me but it also couldn’t’

Blinking he walked towards me. ‘this bond will not break’

Looking away I sighed. ‘it will break the space between us is making it happen as well as the fact that you never mated with me’

‘this bond will not break because I will bring you back home’ looking back at him with wide eyes I gulped.

‘this is my home now with Tanner’

‘Your home is with me your mate not that man’ he answered swiftly as he pinned me against the wall.

Looking up at him I felt the urge to kiss him, the anger I held washed away as I forced myself to look away. ‘that man has been there for me more then you have for the past seven years’ I answered in a shaky voice.

‘I was there for you I kept you safe’ his breath blew against my cheek making me look back up at him. ‘I couldn’t be with you when I wanted but I was there for you in the shadows watching over you’

‘don’t-don’t say that, that’s a lie’ shaking my head I avoided from looking at his lips I wanted to kiss him but I didn’t. Tanner I had to think about him ‘I have a boyfriend now’ I announced making him jerked back.

Giving a harsh laugh he stepped away from me with cold eyes. ‘that man? He just wants to slept with you’

‘if he just wants to make love to me why does he keep making me wait?’ I challenged with a small smirk. Being with Tanner opened my eyes made me bolded and I knew things now… ‘If he just wanted me for my body he’d of taken me already don’t you think?’

Growling he lunged back at me pinning me there his lower body pressed into me making me whimper out in fear.

‘Stop let me go’

‘I will bring you back home to me Sophia do not think that you will ever be with that man for the rest of your life. I am your mate and even if I have to kill him I will’  blinking up at him in shock I felt myself jolt up. Blinking I looked up at the ghost.

‘did it work?’ offering me his hand he held me up strange how his hand felt against mine as he helped me up.

Coughing I nodded the water in the bathtub sloshed around as I sat up standing with wobbly legs he wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me out. I smelled of wolfs bane and rosemary the lingering smell of tobacco smoke tickled my nose. The spell he had casted brought me to Zachary through a dream yet it scared me at how real it was. ‘yes’

Helping me brush my wet hair out of my face he sat on the counter and smiled at me.  ‘that’s good,’

‘I need your help Jordan’ I admitted with a frown.

‘what is it? what did he reveal to you?’ he asked as he watched me closely.

‘He said he’s going to kill Tanner to get me back.’ I paused. ‘well he didn’t really say that but he said he was willing to. I don’t want to go back’

‘I wouldn’t blame you’ Jordan thought about it for a second or two. ‘you still have that bracelet I gave you right?’ nodding he smiled. ‘good keep that on and no matter were you go or were you are he wont be able to catch your scent’

‘thank you’ nodding to me I glanced down at my soaking clothes. ‘I really should change’ nodding he stood up and turned away from me so I could change.  Shrugging and wiggling out of my pants and shirt I rolled them up along with my bra and underwear reaching for the bag I shoved on a pair of fresh underwear and the dress that had a built in bra. Clearing my throat he turned back around as I rolled on some deodorant.

‘I will escort you back to the room Tanner should be awake by now’

Slipping into the room Tanner glanced up at me. Walking up to me he wrapped his arms around me holding me tight. ‘I thought something bad happened’

‘Jordan showed me around’ I answered with a small sigh.

‘our ghost?’ nodding he smiled at me as he gave me a kiss. ‘I had Ben bring us some dinner sense you forgot to eat anything when we were shopping’

Licking my lips I nodded. ‘thanks’

Running his fingers through my hair I gave a grunt as I pushed his hand away. It was all knotted and wet. ‘swimming?’

‘no  I took a bath but I forgot to bring conditioner’ I answered with a frown. Chuckling he nodded as I pulled away to go to the bathroom. ‘so I’m going to take a shower I’ll be out soon ok?’ giving me a kiss he pulled me right back to him his hand sliding down to the small of my back pushing my lower body against him as he deepened the kiss.

Shivering against him I gave a little whine when his other hand pushed up the edge of my dress his fingers brushing over the skin of my thigh. ‘skip the shower stay’ he whispered against my lips as he pulled me along back to the bed. Tugging on his hair he gave a deep growl as I found myself under him his body grinding up against me.

‘your horrible’ I muttered as he kissed my neck.

‘baby it hasn’t stopped you from pushing me back’ he answered as he pulled back looking me in the eyes I gave a little sigh.

‘I guess your right’

‘I know I am’ kissing me he buried his face in my neck with a deep little sigh. Rolling off of me he pulled he onto his chest. ‘I could stay like this all day if I could’ he uttered softly

‘so could I’ I admitted when I listened to heart beat enjoying the beat as I closed my eyes. “I could get use to this, to be able to stay with you’ I muttered with a little sigh. He didn’t have to say anything because I knew he felt the same way as he rubbed circles into my back.
