Chapter 19

:Sophia

‘time to get up schools in a hour’ Tanner whispered into my ear as he shaked me gently.

Groaning I pushed his hands away from me. ‘no I don’t want to go’ it was day three of this. I hadn’t been to school sense the first day when Zachary took me.

The fear of going back kept me in bed. I didn’t want to go back to him when he had tried to come onto me even when I was so against it. He scared me his lust for me scared me why couldn’t he shower it on Yuki or Penelope like before? Yes I was willing to have him cheat on me to keep away from me. I didn’t want him to touch me I didn’t want him to be near me.

I was Tanner’s now not his. I wanted our bond as mates to be broken and I wanted to live my life with Tanner by my side.

It saddened me to know that I would die and he would live longer. But it comforted me to know he was willing to stand by my side as I aged.  ‘you cant stay in bed for ever’

‘I don’t plan to I have to take a shower, but no school I want to stay here with you’ I pulled him down to me wrapping my arms around him till I was arched up to press my lips to his. ‘please?’

Groaning I smiled when his full weight settled on me his lips teasing mine brushing against mine slowly only to pull back to brush them against mine again. Giving a startled little gasp when he nibbled on my bottom lip my toes curled as pleasure bloomed in me warming my skin as my breathing increased as I slid my fingers in his hair giving it a little tug I arched my hips up pushing into him the sheets tangled around me. I was cursing them I didn’t want them between us I wanted to feel his skin against mine the rough material of his jeans brushing against the sensitive skin of my thighs I wanted to feel  him against me.

‘please Tanner?’

‘your doing this to tease me’ he gave a little whine when I slid my hands down his back cupping his butt in my hands I gave a rough squeeze making him groan out in pleasure against my lips as I slid my hands under his shirt pushing up I managed to get his shirt off as he lifted himself up off of me. ‘Sophia you know this isn’t gonna happen’ he whispered when I unbuckled his pants.

I wanted him I wanted him so bad and I gave a growl at him when he said that because I wouldn’t be rejected today. ‘But it can, make me yours’ I answered softly as I kissed his neck. Shivering under my lips I gave a smile.

‘Sophia, if you don’t stop-theres no turning back’ it wasn’t a acceptance but it wasn’t a rejection either.

‘I know, I’m ready Tanner.’

Kissing me he cupped my face in his hands his eyes were so gentle. ‘I love you so much  it almost hurts, I want to give you what you want I want to lay the world at your feet but we cant not today sweetheart’

Whimpering he gave me a kiss his lips tasted sweet and made me light headed.

‘soon though so you will have what you want, but you must be patience with me’ he whispered as he pulled back his sweet breath blew against my face as I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply. ‘Isnt being near me like this enough for you a the moment?’

I nodded as I opened my eyes. ‘I want you’

‘and I want you but we cant at the moment once things settle down and your safe we can.’ He answered as he rolled off pulling me with him I cuddled into his chest. ‘but you must go to school’

‘no’

‘if you go to school’ he began as he twirled a strand of hair around his finger. ‘I’ll give you what you desire’

Blinking I jerked away sitting up straight. ‘are you sure?’ I raised an eyebrow at him curiously making him chuckle.

‘only if you go to school for two weeks’ my smile dropped.

‘two?’

He nodded. ‘two weeks of school and I will give you what you desire, but only if you go for two straight weeks without me having to drag you out of bed. Zachary wont be lucky another time I  enrolled with you as well as Dustin I have all the same classes as you’

A smile curled on my lips. ‘you enrolled? But I thought you said you didn’t need school’

‘I don’t but I did it to keep you safe now are we going to school or what?’ he answered with a smile.

Nodding I hopped out of bed to get changed. Going to the bathroom I brushed my teeth and combed my hair. Grabbing the comb and hair spray I worked at teasing it making a large poof hair spraying it to make it stay I walked out running my hands down my tight shirt I didn’t like how tight it was but Tanner seemed to like it as he glanced up at me.

‘you look good’ he muttered as I walked up to him.

‘really?’ nodding he wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me close as he gave  me a soft kiss. ‘you look good too’ I answered as I pulled back to take in what he was wearing he changed into a pair of black jeans and a black shirt with a leather jacket on. ‘why all black?’

‘I just grabbed some shit, I got what I got’ he shrugged with a chuckle as he slid his hand into mine. ‘we should get going though’

Glancing around I noticed my friends walking up to me glancing at Tanner with wide unsure eyes. ‘the one on the right is Melody, the middle one is Evan, the other on the left that’s Alex she’s funny’ I muttered as I lead the way pulling him along our hands interlocked as he stayed in step. Stopping when we met Melody glanced him over.

‘Boyfriend?’ nodding she smiled. ‘Evan looks like you stood no chance’ she laughed as Evan blushed.

‘Shut up douche bag, I have Linley’ he muttered with a scowl as she punched him in the arm. grumbling he rubbed his arm. ‘I’m Evan nice to met you’ he stuck out his hand to Tanner.

Glancing at it Tanner let go of my hand and grasped Evans in his. ‘Joel, but you can call me Tanner’ he answered his voice strong. Tipping his head to Melody and Alex he slid his hand back into mine.

‘so you’re the boyfriend Sophia lives with?’ Alex asked curiously as she glanced at Melody.

Nodding Tanner smiled. ‘Yup’

‘so how long you two been together’ Alex demanded as she settled her hands on her hips and glared at Tanner.

‘a couple weeks why?’

Glancing between us she gave a little puff. ‘Sophia’s a nice girl. Maybe a long time friend sense we started talking it would be a shame to see her hurt would be a shame’

‘Lex’ I gave a little groan. Was this what it was like with all friends? To have them worry about you and wanting the best for you. A swell of emotions engulfed me as tears swelled up in my eyes as I sniffled.

Her scowl dropped into a concerned look as she went to touch me her hands fluttering around me. ‘Hey whats wrong? Don’t cry! Please! What I say!?’ she began to chant as she glanced up at Tanner who rubbed circles in her back.

‘she’s not use to people caring about her up till now she’s never had a true friend. Her ex boyfriend was a bit possessive’ he said in a low voice as he hugged me to his side.

Her eyes widened as I looked away quickly. ‘Tanner’ I gave a little groan I didn’t want my past to be shown, I didn’t want them to know anything about my old life I wanted a new start. But now they knew.

‘he was abusive’ the word abusive made my eyes snap back up to hers. ‘did he hit you?’

Shaking my head I rubbed my left arm with my right hand with a deep groan. ‘He just was jealous that’s all, he was trying to protect me’ I answered softly. ‘it was for my good’

‘to only talk to him?! So that he could keep you to yourself?!’ Lex’s voice was sharp and bitter the glint of sadness and understand shown in her eyes making me curious of her past. ‘Abusive Sophia, it may have been harmless to you  but it leads to things’ she turned on her heels and walked away I thought I seen tears in her eyes but I didn’t know what to do.

Melody gave a little sigh. ‘you have to forgive her outburst. Lex hates all type of abuse she lost her little sister to it because she was in an abusive relationship her home wasn’t like most.’ Melody took a deep breath. ‘her dads a drunk and like most abuse victims they end up with someone like that, Lex didn’t know her ex was abusive and possessive till he hit her one day. It took her months to get away. She’s one of the lucky ones. She just-well I think you understand now’

Blinking I nodded I felt sadness wash over me. Lex was in an abusive home, why would she stay there?

‘well we should get going to Civics you my dear have a lot of homework to catch up on Mrs. Jayy wont let you get away with missing anything. I took notes for you’ she smiled as she pushed her glasses back up the bridge of her nose. ‘your sitting by me today right? I have a feeling Lex is going to skip’

‘Can Tanner sit with us?’

‘he has Civ too?’ she glanced at Tanner and nodded. ‘he looks scary I bet half the guys in this school are dying to get to know him’

‘girls talk to much’ Tanner muttered as he slid his hand away from me. stepping awsay he rolled his shoulders.

‘Melody usually is quiet’  Evan grunted ‘but she had coffee a while ago now she’s hyper’ Evan gave Melody a hug and a kiss on the forehead. ‘see you dear’ doing the same for me he sent me a wave as he left. ‘see you next hour girls ant wait to slice up that piglet’

My nose scrunched. ‘Piglet?’

‘O ya Biology two is having a baby pig dissection.’ Melody answered in disgust.

‘On a baby?!’ I yelped as I glanced at Tanner. ‘That’s barbaric!’ yes I lived with wolfs, yes many times had I been appointed to take care of the latest kill, which meant I strung it up skinned and gutted while also processed the meat. But the kills they brought had lived their life had had their  chance. But a baby? Still had so much life in them.

As if he knew what I was thinking he gave me a kiss on the forehead. ‘I’ll do the cutting so don’t worry everything will be fine the piglets they use for dissections usually die of natural causes your not hurting it. Its in the name of science’ he answered making me flinch. How could science be so cruel? Seeing how I was still uneasy about it he gave a deep grown. ‘look if it helps imagine it as a full grown piggy that’s just smaller then the rest’

Nodding I bit my lip. ‘guess we should get going I guess eh?’

I had Dustin in my third hour class who contently was seated next to me. ‘you know I never seen myself in a human school’ he whispered to me making me giggle. ‘hey its not funny I don’t need this shit. But sense its to make sure that your safe and away from Zachary’

‘thanks I guess’

‘you know I’m not the best guy to get along with but my brother likes you so I have to be nice but strangely enough I don’t have to try around you. With your past its hard not to like you’ he whispered with a frown.

‘Oh another one?’ Mr. Vendel’s voice caught my attention as I kept my eyes on Dustin. ‘Very well theres a open seat in the third row second to the last next to Sophia’ glancing up I felt my heart stutter making me almost whimper as I met the gaze of Zachary. Nodding he walked towards me and took a seat. My heart was racing as I looked at Dustin for help.

‘Sophia’ he tipped his  head to me.

‘Dustin I uh…’ I muttered as I kept my eyes on him.

His boy was stiff as he glared just passed me. ‘Well guess we hadn’t thought of this happening.’ He muttered to me as he took my hand in his. Rubbing his thumb over my palm he gave a weak smile as Zachary growled out.

‘I knew today would be a bad day’. I muttered softly to Dustin.

Zachary did something I hadn’t thought he would do. He was here next to me in my third hour class trying to make conversation with me trying to get my attention and it was hard to not pay attention to him. I wanted to look at him, this stupid bond between us was hurting me as I clenched my hands into tight fists my nails digging into the palms of my hands making me flinch. ‘Sophia’ he repeated my name.

‘Leave me alone ‘ I bit out through clenched teeth. ‘Just leave me alone!’ I hissed in a louder voice as I shot up from my seat. Storming out of class I was shocked to find Dustin following.

‘Hey calm down’ reaching he pulled me into a hug. ‘don’t let him get under your skin, hey look at me’ looking into his eyes I sucked in a shaky breath. ‘he cant touch you  without getting noticed. Me and Tanner have all the same classes almost, if I’m not with you Tanner is.’

I nodded. ‘but he could hurt Tanner’

‘Tanner is stronger then he looks Sophia, just because Zachary is a Alpha doesn’t mean anything. He took you didn’t he when you had those two royal guards watching over you’  Dustin pointed out.

‘I guess your right’ I whispered softly.

‘I know I am lets go back to class before you get us in trouble’

Walking back into class I looked at Mr. Vendel as he walked up to me. ‘you cant just run out of the class room Ms. Sophia you have to ask.’

‘I’m sorry but I don’t get along with Zachary very well we have a bad past’ I muttered softly as I looked up into his eyes pleadingly. ‘is there a chance that I could take the seat by the wall and Dustin take mine?’

He glanced at Dustin who was next to me. ‘only if he wants to, if there is any more trouble come to me you hear me?’

I nodded as I went back to my seat. Logging out I took Dustin’ seat and logged him out and signed into my account.

‘so Tanner was thinking that we could go to the movies or something today’ Dustin announced making me nod. ‘The Lost Boys “The Tribe” is showing we’ve never seen it on big screen what you think?’

‘I’ll go if Tanner wants to’ I answered with a bright smile that quickly dropped as Zachary tried to get my attention. ‘Maybe Alex, Evan, and Melody could come with us like a group outing!’

‘I’m sure he wouldn’t mind after all he wants you to be happy’ Dustin answered smugly as Zach gave a growl. ‘I swear I think a dog is next to me.’

Sighing I looked away. ‘I wish Tanner had this class’

Grunting at the end of class when Zachary pulled me aside I looked around for help but people were walking around doing something. ‘Let me go’ I pushed away from him and fixed my shirt.

‘Sophia please don’t do this I need to talk to you’ he pleaded making me look away from him.

‘no’

‘Sophia’ he repeated softly. ‘come on look at me please?’

‘Ya look at him’ glancing at Brent who was standing next to him. Brent happened to be the schools bad ass someone Lex told me to avoid. How had the two teamed up. ‘Look at him’ he demanded making me whimper.

Stomping on Zachs foot I slipped past him. ‘Tanner will hear of this’ I bit out through clenched teeth as I stomped away from them my heart racing with fear as I quickly found Tanner at my locker.

‘Hey whats wrong?’ reaching out he touched my cheek as he took a sniff. ‘Zachary? How?’

‘he enrolled I guess’ I muttered softly with a frown. ‘I had a run in with him’

‘so he’s in your class?’  I nodded as he embraced me holding me to his chest. ‘He didn’t hurt you did he?’ shaking my head he let out a deep sigh of relief. ‘thank god, lets get to class though we can talk about it there’

‘that’s him isn’t it’ Lex hissed out through clenched teeth as she clenched her hand into a fist and slammed it down into the lunch table making our milk carts jiggle. She was sending her glares to Zachary and Brent who were across the room. His eyes were on me as I leaned back into Tanner. Sense our table was full and there was no seat for me I sat on his lap finding it hard not to move my butt against him.

I wished I could tease him and make him shiver, but sense we were in public and schools frowned upon it I had to resist.

‘ya’ I muttered as Tanner kissed the side of my neck. ‘that’s him’

‘I want to punch him’ she ground out between her clenched teeth her eyes cold and showed no mercy making me almost whimper as I shied into Tanner.

‘He’s not worth a five day suspension’ Evan groaned. ‘besides you’ve already gotten into one fight this year it’d be ten days this time’ he whined. ‘you cant leave me alone in Mr. Bowers class!’

‘Shut up’ Lex snapped as she stood up grabbing her tray she looked over at me. ‘he give you any shit him or Brent you come to me ok?’

‘well then she’s a bit how should I put it’ Tanner whispered making Evan smile.

‘she gets scarier if she has a weapon in her hands it doesn’t help that she has a black belt in karate’ Evan announced as he picked up his tray and waved. ‘see you two in fifth hour I have to go and watch over her before she does something stupid.’

‘the friends you made’ Tanner muttered to me. ‘I cant decide if they are crazy and uncontrollable or  just caring and thoughtful.’

‘I think its both really’ I answered as Melody took a seat in Evans spot.

‘like that new guy is so cute’ she whispered making Tanner growl. ‘what I say?’

‘that is Sophia’s ex, Mr. Possessive boyfriend’ Dustin chirped as he patted her hand with his.

‘that?!’ she sent him a cold glare as she stuck her nose in the air. ‘I take it back he’s not cute he looks ugly as hell’ Laughing she gave me a frown. ‘its not funny Sophia, anyways why he here?’

‘he must have followed her he’s probably trying to get her back’ Tanner answered dryly as I stood up. Intertwining our hands together he gave me a kiss. ‘but he’s not going to, see you guys in 5th hour’

Walking out of the lunch room we had to pass Zachary and I could feel his wolf’s distress which alarmed me slightly as I clutched closer to Tanner. ‘Don’t let him get me’

‘I told you he wouldn’t your mine’ he answered smoothly. ‘lets ditch, go back home’ I quickly nodded I liked the idea of going home and getting away from Zachary.
