Chapter 4
:Zachary/ Sophia
(** signals transition)
"You used her" My voice billowed as I demanded it roughly pacing back in forth in the room a deep growl rumbling through my chest. "You used my mate to clean every damn house in this pack? You degraded her and made her feel unwelcome?!"
"She wouldn't hold her tongue or control that wild temper of her's. What was I suposed to do? The back was starting to doubt my power" he shrugged in a carefree tone as if that would pacify me.
Snarling I glared. "You know very well she is human. She isn't built like us. She doesn't have the confliction we feel when it comes to disobeying the Alpha" I let out coldly with a sneer. "You made her feel unwelcomed" I repeated to myself.
"Your mate was causing trouble for this pack. I did what I had to do to correct it. Do you know how taxing it was to look after a human child?" he demanded. "Human woman are ten times more emotional then a wolf, rules by their raging emotions. Damn it" he huffed. "You put me through hell"
"I did everything. I did absolutly everythng you asked of me to keep her here," I snarled feeling my nails sharpen, "You put me through hell"
"I kept her safe didn't I?" He sighed.
Rolling my eyes I snorted. "I let you have this pack. BUt do not cross me Drake. Because I can take everything away from you. You put my mate in jeopardy. How dare you think you can get away with it"
Flinching Drake cowered at the authority in my voice his body trembled in its spot unable to move.
"We-we made a deal" he stuttered out like a pathetic fool.
"Yea, and part of it was to keep her safe and feeling accepted and welcomed" I answered in a chilling tone.
"I am Alpha" He held his head a little higher as if to show a feat of dominance.
"Not if I dont want you to be" I reminded. "I can take athat back any second" I answered roughly as I reminded him.
"Well, well, well" the sickening voice of Darcy touched my ears as he came through the door he closed it behind himself with a sickening smile. "I came to talk to Alpha Drake, but it seems I should be talking to you War Wolf Zachary or shall I call you Alpha Zachary?" He raised a brow. "Your mate is alone at your hotel room if I am correct"
I gave a growl at the mention of Sophia I felt my wolf surface at this uneasy.
"I took the liberty of posting someone at her door"
I raised a brow at him waiting silently.
He gave a dramatic sigh. "You dont know a thing about the attacks happening up coast do you" His gaze hardened. "There has been a total of 20 deaths for the last to weeks from Washington down to New Mexico, all by the same group of men. Hybrids most likely from the hair samples we found on the females." He gave me a hard look. "Which is the second reason I am here, your pack being one of the largerst and we need men to help track and hunt down the Hybrids. I have the mates of the females out there who are barley hanging on to reality before they slip away into maddness and tear into their very own packs"
"We can't aford the men, I have a mate to get back to" I went to pass him.
The sound of Sophia's screams and yelling filled me with terror and anger I snarled.
"Put me down right now. I swear you better put me down. I demand you put me down" She yelled as she squirmed I darted out into the hall to find her thrown over a large males shoulder with his hand on her ass firly as she thrashed and kicked. "MY mate will have your head for this" she snarled in a fearsome tone, she mustered anger that would cause a wolf to tremble as she kicked away. "There will be blood!" she declared.
"Shut up already Prince Darcy demanded us to bring you here" he grunted and gave her ass a smack.
My wolf surged to the surface my feet carrying me towards them clearing the distance I slammed my fist into his gut sending him huched over I snapped my knee into his gut as I gripped his hand and flung it off of Sophia before pulling her away and setting her on her feet. In my hurry she stumbled and bumped into the wall with a grunt as I snarled at the male. "You dare lay your hand on my mate?" I grabbed his hair and jerked him up my hand wrapped around his throat. "You dare touch what is mine" anger consumed me as I slammed him against the wall the thud of his body and head knocking into it he groaned and gripped my wrist with wide eyes.
"Zachary" I peeked down at Sophia who was looking at the man with a smug look. She meet my eyes. "I'm going into the office okay?" She smiled warmly. Giving her a sharp nod I kept my hold feeling my nails dig into him.

Walking into the office I shied away from Drake as he glared darkly at me.
"Hello So So" Darcy waved as I walked closer to him and gave him a tentive smile. "How did Calvin treat you?" he asked as I hugged him.
"He threw me over his shoulder, and walked with me like that the whole way here with his hand on my butt" I huffed but smiled up at him. "That its okay he's getting torn a new one"
He chuckled. "I did warn him, you didn't do anything to stop him from killing my man?"
I shook my head with a shrug. "Why would I?" I huffed. "He walked with me like that all the way through town everyone saw, I hav a mate and I know he was not happy to see it. I told him so but he didn't listen"
"Well then" he sighed when he went to open the door again and Calvin came flying through the room and fumbled.
"Zachary" I called out as he poked his head through and as he grinned clearly pleased as he rolled his shoulders and walked in.
"Yes honey?"
"You um-got blood on your cheek" I muttered while blushing as I pointed.
He nodded and rubbed away at the wrong place before I sighed and licked my sleeve and wiped away the blood .

"Thank you" he leaned in and kissed me softly. "Touch my mate again and you wont get off so lucky" he growled to Calvin as he struggled to get up. Zachary held me closer.
"Why was I brough here? You told me to wait for you to come back" I peered up into his eyes.
"I didn't think it was safe for you to be alone even with the guards I posted" Darcy butted in. "It was all done to keep you safe So So"
I stiffened. "Safe?" I looked at Zachary for comfort.
"There has been a string of killings honey" he answered softly I felt my blood run cold and fear fill me as I leaned into him for suport. "The Hybrids attacked mated females"
"But-but why" I felt the tears weld up.
"We think its because when a male finds his mate his strength grows due to the union between the two. If you take away the cause of the growth it causes the mate to loose all control " Darcy sighed. "They have gone after the strongest packs"
"And-And you think this pack is next" I whispered in shock.
"No one will lay a finger on you Sophia" Zachary let out in a firm voice.
I nodded feeling comfort in his words but glanced with uncertainty at Drake.
"You where here the whole time and not once did you call or come to see me?" Bonnie cried out in a shrill voice as she walked in.
I sent her a dark glare my arms tightened around Zachary.
"I already told you I have a mate. We are nothing" Zachary gave a growled without looking at her.
"It never stopped you before" she answered with a pout and rolled her fake blue eyes.
"It did many times. Which is why every time I laid with you, I would imagine it being Sophia. I dont need you anymore. Your nothing but a worthless pack slut. Why would I want you when I now have my mate beside me" my feelings were confusing a mix between joy at hearing this and sadness to know he had been with her.
Flinching I ducked my head.
He slowly rubbed my back. "Nothing is going to come between us Sophia" he promised as he held me tightly.
I glanced over at Darcy who was watching Calvin as he shifted and tried to get up his eyes flickered to me he froze and looked away sharply.
"We need to bring every mated wolf in this pack to the main house this instant" Darcy ordered.
"What why" Drake groaned. "Do you know what kind of trouble will become of that with that many males close" Drake groaned pitifully.
"Look we understand you aren't of the Alpha line, and for that yo do not have it in you to take care fo the pack but for once in your life shut your God damn mouth for once" Darcy snarled causing Drake to shake. "We get it you stole your position from a desprate mate willing to do whatever it took to keep his mate safe but it is time for you to step down this instant. Your will hear by give back the title of Alpha to the one who is the true Alpha " Darcy ordered.
His voice almost like the law itself had my body trembling my body frozen.
"And who the hell is that" Bonnie demanded with a bored tone.
"Zachary" Darcy turned to us. " You are the true Alpha and now that you have accepted your responability as a mate Sophia you are the Luna" Darcy glanced at Bonnie as she gasped in shock. "Calvin drag yourself to your feet and get that thing out of my site and away from Sophia"
Calvin scrambled to his feet and grasped Bonnie by the arm in a firm grasp and dragged her out of the room as she protested and fought against his hold.
"But your a War Wolf, not the Alpha" I looked up into his chocolate eyes in confusion. "I dont understand"
"Not by birth" Darcy explained. "He gave up his title in order to keep you safe. If he had kept the title he would have had to of taken you as he true mate, by law having to complete the ceremony when you were only 10 years old. He didn't want to have to force such a thing on you so he made an agreement with Drake to adopt you during the time he waited for you to grow up he used that time to get rid of the threats and dangers"
I looked up at Zachary with large eyes. "You-you did that for me?" I whispered in shock.
"I had to do something." He cupped my cheek. "I couldn't take you that young, you didn't even know what sex was at that age" he smiled down at me. "I did what needed to be done to keep you safe"
"But- your wolf-how were you able to stomach following any orders from him-"
"I didn't" he shrugged. "A War Wolf breaks all laws, we kill in the blink of an eye at the drop of a mission, we protect what we hold dear"
"Yes how touching. Zachary we need you to stop being a mate and focus on the task of being a Alpha," Darcy ordered.
Growling Zachary stroked my cheek before his hand dropped.
"We need you to assemble the strongest of this pack"
Nodding Zachary thought for a moment. "All the War Wolf's, as well as every male in this pack is the strongest. Have the mated moved into the two main houses in seprate rooms,I will assemble the rest to remain around those houses but for Sophia I want you Darcy to guard her. You are the strongest here"
"But then who shall lead my men" Darcy grunted.
"I will handle it all on the front" Zachary stated. "I do not trust any of the pack members. They are strong but not as strong and you . As Future King of the Kingdom you have the power of all the Alpha's as well as every King before you" Zachary added.
I froze my eyes widened. Stronger then every Alpha?
"Zachary-I dont want you to go" I whimpered as I held tightly to him. "Please- I dont- I dont want you to get hurt"I pleaded.
"I have to" he slipped his hand to the back of my neck and tilted my head up to him as he dipped his head and kissed me. "I am making this place safe for you"
"But-But Drake can do it can't he? Or someone else?I dont want you to get hurt Zachary. We just got together and-you just cant" tears fell as I whimpered.
"Drake can not handle the title or the responsabilites of being a Alpha. He was born a Beta. I can control everyone with ease and instruct them to act in a mere second. I know your scared but I am an Alpha. I have the strength of 400 men. The only thing that can put me down is a silver bullet and if we are dealing with Hybrids they aren't packing those because its deadly to them as well. Darcy will keep you safe, think of it as a visit from a friend? You can watch movies or something"
"You have to-you have to promise to come back to me" I demanded.
He nodded with a cocky grin. "Its a bunch of mutts honey it's like taking out the trash"
I felt myself relax as I brushed away my tears.
"I'm going to take her to my old rom. Darcy come in ten minnutes" Zachary asked.

Glancing around the room I gave a gasp when he pulled me into his arms. I looked up at him when he tilted my head up and pressed his lips to mine sending flames of yearning through me that scared and trilled me.
Wrapping my arms around his neck I pressed my body into his as I responded timidly my heart racing, his kiss took everything yet gave so much more as he continued to kiss teasing his lips along with mineas his hands skimmed down my backas he gripped me tighter he groaned when I tugged at his hair.
Growling he pulled back and loosened his hold.
"I love you" My eyes fluttered closed as I savored his words.
"I-I love you to" I whispered with red cheeks.
Smiling he kissed me once more. "I like the sound of that" he purred softly.
"You'll be safe right?" I asked as I tilted my head slightly.
"I promise to be safe" he hummed as he pushed my bangs away and lead me to the bed he sat down and pulled me beside him. I leaned into him with a sigh. "I have to get going" He went to move.
Holding onto his arm tighter he glanced at me.
"Sophia"
"I know" I loosened my hold.
"He brought something with him" his nose twitched.
The door swung open as Darcy walked in, in his arm was Yoshiro tail wagging she whined and wiggled till he put her down and she ran to me yipping.
"Keep her safe Darcy" Zachary demanded as he paused beside him.
"I'm the Prince, I always keep my word" Darcy grunted before smiling at me.
Zachary walked out and I peeked at Darcy. "He's really goign to be okay right?"
"Yes, he will be just fine" Darcy stated.
I felt my shoulders relax. "I'm glad."
