Chapter 7

:Zachary/ Tanner

'what do you mean some ones calling me? I have more important things to do then talk on the phone' I hissed out in rage as I looked at Darcy.

'Just answer the phone because if you don't you'll hate yourself when I'm done' he threatened darkly with a glare.

Taking the phone I gave a huff. 'Hello?'

'Zach?' relief  swelled up in me calming my panicked wolf for a second. 'Zach is this you? Zachary?'

'Sophia?' gulping I clutched the phone.  O my sweet Sophia. I thought with a groan as I listened closely hearing her breathing come in steady breaths making my heart race. She was ok, she was alive...my little mate.

'O Zach' she gave a little sigh. 'Tanner let me call to tell you I was ok,' she groaned out in relief.

'Who's Tanner? Where are you can you tell me anything about this place your at?' I demanded quickly.

'Tanner is the one who took me' she answered simply. 'I don't know where we are but he says I'm safe here he's nice to me' she answered childishly.

Gulping I bit my lip. she didn't know the dangers that came with being around Hybrids. They could kill her...or even worst force themselves on her. 'Honey I'm coming to get you but it may take me a while you don't have to be afraid.'

'I'm not afraid, Tanner is very nice to me. He has me in a room right now because he says there are a couple uncontrollable people here but he's making it safe for me. He's really nice...Zachary?' she asked suddenly. Grunting I waited. 'Would you hate me if-if I kissed someone else?' hurt consumed me making my wolf howl out in pain.

Clutching my chest I sucked in a deep breath. 'Whos kissing you baby, are they hurting you?'

'He's really nice' she uttered softly.

'sweetheart their not forcing you to do things are they?'

'no he says  he wont make me do anything but I don't understand what he's talking about. He says he wants me but I don't get it is he trying to ask me to play a game with him?' she asked curiously.

Chuckling I let out a sigh. My poor little mate, so innocent. 'Ya sort of.'

'o I love games.' She squealed into my ear.

'You have to say goodbye now Sophia' another voice ordered gently making me growl.

'Do I have to?' she whined as I heard the phone move away.

'Yes I brought you some soup to eat ok? let me have the phone'

'Bye Zach' hanging up the line went dead.

'She's alive' I muttered softly. 'She's alive and someone kissed her...they touched my mate' I growled out in jealousy.

'He must not be all that bad sense he did let her call you, not to mention my sister is alive' Darcy muttered with a frown.

'She is?' nodding he sighed.

'SoSo said that she found her mate and that's why she left the castle. She also said the leader, Tanner didn't lead any hybrids to kill the mates so that means someone else is doing it'  he answered softly.

'how does she know he isn't lying?'

'I've met him he puts his group first she told me they have a little group with people like them together that they don't operate like  a pack more of a group making decisions together' scoffing at the thought Darcy looked up at me and raised an eyebrow.

'I just want my mate back I promised I would be with her forever' I whispered with a frown. 'I wont break my promise to her.

'Tanner kissed her.'

Growling I clenched my hands. 'the half bred will die the next time I see him'

'She seems to like him enough, would you want to hurt your mate by killing him? We don't know how long it will take to get her back, they may grow to be good friends.' He pointed out making me growl in protest. 'she's innocent Zachary. You shielded her from the world. She doesn't even know what sex is you told her a game.'

'what are you saying Darcy?'

'What I'm saying is that you shielded her to much. She isn't prepared to be out in the world.' He answered roughly. 'you did more harm then good. You shielded her from things that would of taught her. Now she is out in the world with a Hybrid that has taken a fancy of her, saved her from a pack that was cruel to her.' He growled out with a sigh.

Gulping I clenched my hands.  I couldn't speak I didn't want to speak. I knew he was right but I just couldn't face it. 'I did what I thought was right'

'yes but you thought wrong.'

Glancing over at Sophia as she gazed out the window she gave a little sigh. 'is that what you wanted?' nodding she glanced at me and gave me a grin. Standing up she ran towards me.

'I'm glad your back' she muttered with a hug as she held me. Her arms tight around my waist as she looked at me. 'I sort-of um I broke the TV' she blushed. Chuckling I glanced at the perfect flat screen raising an eyebrow she chuckled.

'you just turned it off' letting me go she handed me the remote. 'see' flipping it ok I hit power. 'you just turned off the Dish' showing her how do it she make a "o" face with a nod she grabbed my hand.

'will you stay?' nodding I tossed the bag from  my shoulder and took a seat in the chair near the window. Glancing at her I patted my lap. Watching her clap her hands she skipped towards me. sitting on my lap she wiggled close till she was comfortable changing the channel putting on  Sleepy Hollow I slid my arms around her and watched as she shifted around.

'I brought you some things there in that bag on the bed'

Nodding she fiddled with my fingers. 'I wonder how Yoshiro' she muttered softly

'whos Yoshiro?'

'she was my puppy...Darcy got her for me because Zachary's position had him away on business a lot...she was to keep me company while he was away because he didn't want me around any other males.' She answered softly as she curled up closer to me.

'he would of made you a miserable having to wait at home till he comes back.'

Nodding she bit her lip. 'I know but I'm use to being alone. The Alpha use to make me stay in my room, when I was allowed out it was because I was preparing dinner for the pack'

Growling I wrapped my arms tightly around her as I rubbed her back. 'Then I came at the right time. You will no longer have to be alone, I have warned my people not to hurt you. You are free to roam our house. Everything here is yours now we share it all.' I answered softly as she glanced at me with a blush.

'you like to save people?' nodding to her answer she bit her lip. 'why? And who?'

'Mainly the rare human and or Hybrids that are in a pack. Some omegas come to live with us because we treat everyone the same.' Nodding again she smiled.

'your like Robin Hood' she announced.

'far from Robin Hood hun'

Scrunching her nose Sophia shook her head. 'that's not true. Your nice and you help the needy' pulling her face to mine I pressed my lips to hers giving a smirk when she melted into me. Blushing she quickly pulled away from me and hopped off my lap with red cheeks.  'Joel-we-we cant'

Sighing softly I nodded. 'for now'

'I don't understand what you mean' she muttered with a frown.

'I will wait for now till you are more comfortable with me.' I answered simply.

'I don't know you, I just met you'

'That's not true you know my name' smiling she sent me a frown.

'no I  mean I don't know how old you are I don't know where your originally from your likes, or dislikes...you know things like that' she answered innocently. 'An-an I'm scared... I don't know what you want...an an when you kiss me it makes me feel funny'

Giving a soft sigh I stood up and walked to her shaking frame. Whimpering she bit her lip. 'you don't have to be afraid of me, its normal to feel like that.'

'why? Why does it feel that way I don't understand...an...an...'

'I know your new to this but its not hard to understand I can teach you Sophia I can make you not be afraid of me. I can take that fear away. You don't have to be afraid.' I soothed softly coxing her into my arms.  Whining she shifted around.

'Zachary will be upset...he wouldn't like this' she whispered softly.

'Zachary doesn't have to know' I answered with a shrug making her gasp.

'b-but that's wrong...so wrong...' she muttered with a frown tears trickled down her cheeks.

'go lie down and go to sleep ok.' I growled out dryly

'I made you mad' sighing she quickly moved away from me shrinking towards the wall. 'I'm sorry' taking a step towards her I flinched when I witnessed her shrink closer to the wall exposing her neck to me in a silent submission as she gave a whimper.

'You didn't do anything' leaving the room I closed the door behind me leaving her in the room alone. Gritting my teeth I sucked in a shallow breath. That girl knotted me all up on the inside. Actually made me want to have her. Being a hybrid of both worlds of night and day I had no desire to have a female. I wasn't gay or anything its just the thought of bringing a child into this world damned to be hunted seemed to cruel. And rather risking the chance of that happening I just stayed away from females in total. I wasn't a virgin but it had been about seven years sense I had made my oath to never sleep with a woman again.

But now...with Sophia I found myself wanting her. To be in her to feel her warmth against me to hear her soft little gasps. Growling I pushed away from the door as I stalked off to the training room.

Benching 500 I knew I was pushing my limits but I didn't care. I had to get control of myself before  I forced poor innocent Sophia into doing something she wasn't ready to do just yet. Growling I have a roar of rage as I tossed the bar off sending it flying across the room the weights on it scattering.

'Boss chill' glancing over at Ken I sent him a glare making him retrieve what I threw. 'I never seen you like this. Something wrong?'

Groaning as I sat up I covered my face with my hands as I hunched over. 'everything man, that girl is...'

'making you want to break your celibacy?' he finished. Nodding I looked up at him.

'I kissed her...its been so long sense I've kissed someone.' I groaned again. I could feel myself growing hard wanting her. 'I don't know what to do either. She's a clueless virgin never been touched really  and it scares her how I make her feel because she doesn't understand it...I don't want to scare her'

'sounds like some ones got a crush.'

Growling I stood up and stretched. 'I should get back shes probably going to-'

'Joel?' glancing up I glanced back at Ken as she walked in wearing his mates clothes that clung to her body. Groaning I sat back down.

'You must be Sophia I'm Ken' listening to them introduce themselves I looked at her and bit my lip. 'sorry I stole him for a while I was having some troubles' shrugging she nodded.

'its ok, so I got to walk around...and I got lost' she blushed. Chuckling I raised an eyebrow. 'I didn't mean to really I took a right and a right and then a left but then I went down this hall and I got confused and...and I sort of went into the wrong room and I think I'm scared for life' she muttered with a frown.

'ya fucking waltzes into my room when I'm with Kandace' Ben boomed making her flinch.

'it was an accident! He was attacking her!' she whimpered as she moved closer to me. sitting on my lap she shrank back.

'he wasn't attacking her Sophia' I answered softly knowing what she had walked into.

'but sh-she was screaming...an an he was biting her...' she whimpered softly.

'they where finishing their mating bond. He wasn't attacking her. She wasn't screaming in pain it was because it felt good' shivering she gave a whimper.

'it looked scary'  she persisted.

'its not scary once you get use to it and get the hang of it.' I answered with a chuckle.

Looking away she bit her lip. 'it looked painful...can I go back to the room now?' nodding I sighed.

'go wait at the door I have to talk to Ben ok?' nodding she left the room.

'You have a hand full' he noted with a sigh, 'Virgins are...'

'Hard to deal with, I don't want to scare the hell out of her but she asks questions...and its hard to answer them without going into detail' I muttered with a frown.

'I once dated a virgin. Their fun to be with you get to teach them everything, its well like your own sex toy you can show her how you like it and how you want it,' he grinned at me. 'But your not that type of guy with the look your giving. Look just treat her like any other girl be nice to her take her out to eat buy her some candy...' he shrugged as I gave a growl. 'take things slow. Virgins get turned on just by touch so it's the little things'

Rolling my eyes I gave a sigh. 'I don't intend on using her Ben, she's to sweet to do that to.'

Nodding he rolled his eyes at me. 'I would'

'What you would do, and I will be doing are total polar opposites I hope you know that right?' I answered dryly as I waved.

'your going to have blue balls by the end of the night!' Ben called out as I left the room.

'lets go' grabbing her hand I led her down the hall taking a right I opened the door. 'here we are'

Scowling she stuck her bottom lip out. 'you mean I was this close!' throwing her hands up into the air I pulled her into my arms. Pressing my lips to hers I smiled down at her.

'Yes'

Blinking she squirmed in my arms till she was comfortable being this close to me. sighing  I led her to the bed. Sitting down I kept her on my lap as she turned the TV on. 'you left-really quickly earlier'

'I forgot I had to work out' I muttered which was a lie. I had to get away because I wanted her. And I didn't want to scare her with my animal side, taking a deep breath I calmed myself. Being a Hybrid I wasn't a separate being like the full breed's. Me and my wolf thought the same acted the same...some days it was hard to control myself with my wants and needs.

'I upset you I know I did' she answered as she trailed her fingers up my hand making me shiver. 'Are you cold?' leaning closer against me she sighed.

'You didn't upset me.'

'yes  I did you left' she answered as she tipped her head back to look at me. 'I know you where upset'

'No you didn't look I have to go take a shower ok?' nodding she hoped off of my lap. Turning to me I brushed her hair out of her face. 'I'll be out quick' nodding I left the room locking the bathroom door  I leaned against it breathing heavy.

I felt like a virgin again. Shaking my head I shrugged it off as I peeled off my sweaty clothes.

Glancing at the door I took a seat ta the window. The images of those people in my head. Tanner had said they weren't hurting each other but then why were they crying out in pain? Or moaning out? Blushing at my thoughts I tried to push them away but it only made me think about Tanner's kiss. It made me feel funny, in a good way.

He made me feel good. I liked it but it sort of scared me. What those two people were doing is that what Tanner meant when he said he wanted me like a mate does? Sighing I chewed on my bottom lip with my fingers interlaced in front of me.

I liked his kisses but it made me feel a little guilty for kissing him when I had a mate. But then again even though Zachary did say he was doing it for my good he left me for seven years and had been with many females...did he do what those two people did?

Groaning I still couldn't get those images and thoughts out of my head as Tanner came out in a pair of grey sweat pants. Gulping I looked up his body my eyes skimming over his abs to his strong arms.

'Sophia' my eyes locked onto his lips for a second before I grunted in response. 'come here' feeling a little num as I stood up and walked to him I welcomed his hug as he held me to his chest. He didn't say anything. Just held me, like that his breathing rapid his heart pounding under my ear. Resting my hand on his chest I snuggled close enjoying the closeness.

'What is it? Your heart its- beating fast' tipping my chin up he crushed his lips to mine making me stiffen slightly as I slowly leaned up into him his warm breath filling my lungs with his scent as his lips moved against mine in slow little movements. Responding hesitantly I shivered when his hands gripped my hips pulling me up against him.  'Tanner'

Groaning he lifted me off my feet making me squeak when I locked my arms around his neck my legs locking around his hips as I gave a little whimper of fear. Why was he picking me up like this? Feeling something press against my lower body I felt my heart putter as he carried me to the bed. Laying me down he settled himself on top of me holding himself up by his elbows he pushed my hair out of the way his eyes trialing over my face as he kissed my cheek. 'Sophia,' kissing my other cheek he whispered my name again.  Till his lips pressed against mine he whispered my name again making me shiver when his body lowered onto mine. Gulping I put my shaky hands on his chest. Lifting up slightly he watched me as I marveled at how hard his body was.

How was that possible? Trailing my fingers over his sides I let them slid up his back feeling his muscles bunch as his brows knitted together as he gave me a soft kiss. A growl rumbling deeply in his chest as his body stiffened slightly his breathing coming out in ragged pants as he went to roll off.

'O Sophia' he gave a groan as he rolled onto his stomach hiding his face in the pillows. Gulping I went to sit up finding my hands shaking and my legs trembling as I dragged myself to a sitting position. Reaching out I touched his shoulder.

'Tanner?' groaning he peeked up at me with flushed cheeks. 'Are you ok?' nodding he rolled back over onto his side as he looked at me.

'I should be asking you that, your shaking.' Frowning he touched my arm making me tremble at his touch. Jerking his hand back he took a deep breath, 'sorry I scared you'

'I'm not scared...its I don't know how to explain it' blushing I bit my lip as I squeezed my legs together.

Sighing he smiled at me. 'you mean I didn't scare you at all?' shaking my head again. Grinning he leaned towards me. 'I'm glad I didn't frighten you, I wouldn't want you to be afraid of me.'

Blushing I bit my lip as he leaned close to me till his lips hovered against mine.

'And if I kiss you right now you wont be afraid?' shaking my head I closed my eyes and arched my back slightly closing the space between us as his lips touched mine. Softly brushing mine as his body moved back onto mine. Pulling away I gave a little gasp as he smiled against my lips. 'I guess that answers my question...' gulping I licked my lips noticing how he gave a little moan when my tongue brushed against his bottom lip. gathering my courage I flicked my tongue along the bottom of his lip. watching his eyes squeeze shut as his weight leaned down on me as his lips entangled with mine.

Glancing down at her as she gave a little shudder her hips pressing up as she gave a whimper of need. I knew she was confused she didn't know what she wanted but I knew the heat between her legs turned me on I wanted her. But was she ready to go father then just kissing?

Grabbing me by the back of my hair I gave a little whimper as she pulled me down to her. 'Tanner'

Growling I buried my face into her neck with a deep groan. This girl, this little innocent girl had me tied up in knots. My stomach lurched when her lips pressed gently against my exposed neck. Sucking in a shaky breath I memorized the feel of her lips against my skin mimicking what I had done seconds ago to her.

'Am-am I doing this right?' nodding against her neck I flicked my tongue over her soft warm skin her scent heavy in my lungs smelling sweet of Strawberry's and rose's. Gasping I gave a growl as she tugged my hair with a little kitten like whine. Her throat vibrating under my lips as I nipped gently my teeth brushing over her skin till she was shaking under me with needs that she didn't fully understand. Pulling her legs apart I settled between them till I rolled over pulling her along with me. gulping she bit her swollen little lips her eyes bashful , her cheeks rosy red from the kisses.

'Sophia' settling my hands on her waist I stifled a deep growl as she adjusted herself.  Gulping she glanced between us.

'th-that's normal right?' she tensed at the sight of my pants that were tight and straining to hold my erection back. Nodding with a growl she bit gave a little nervous laugh that made me smile.

Taking a deep breath as she settled her hands on my chest.

Glancing down again she jerked her eyes right back up to my eyes.  Her lips trembled with fear as she gave a little whimper. 'Will-will it hurt me?'

Shaking my head I bit my lip and held back my answer. 'Well for the first time yes I think... or so I'm told' blushing I mulled it over. I muttered again softly. I couldn't say I knew because I'd never been with a virgin. My first time had been with a  paid hooker.

Gulping she nodded slowly. 'Tanner?' grunting she hesitated. 'I don't know what to do now' she answered honestly with a frown.

Sighing I sat up slowly till our faces where inches apart. 'Sweetheart you don't have to do nothing' I answered softly as I gave her a gentle kiss. Watching her eyes flutter close I felt a pinch of guilt wash over me. I was play with her emotions. I knew she was feeling guilty for betraying her mate with each kiss I gave her that she didn't turn down. I knew very well that I was clouding her mind with my kisses making her not really think about her actions. I was using the kisses to make her want me, or so I thought.

Maybe I could be getting back at Zachary for his past doings to my people. Maybe I just wanted to use her for a good fuck. Sighing I pulled away quickly, I liked how her cheeks turned bright pink and how her lips parted with that little soft sigh. 'can I get off now?' nodding I let her get off of me. Sitting next to me she pushed her hair behind her ear. 'Zachary will be upset with me...' she muttered softly. 'I don't know how to deal with this though...he did things with Bonnie and other woman during the years he wasn't with me. And we-just kissed does that make me a bad person?' she asked as she looked at me with a frown.

Shaking my head I shrugged. 'it doesn't make you a bad person Sophia'

'I would be lying if I said I didn't like your kisses but...it scares me that I don't know what I want. I want something but I don't know what it is at all' she muttered again as she looked at me. 'I get this knot in my stomach an-and it feels like fire in my blood' she whispered truthfully as she chewed on her bottom lip. 'an-and I get all warm all over'

Taking her hand in mine I trailed my finger tip over her palm tracing her hand with a deep sigh. I had the answer I wanted. She did feel something. 'Call me Joel, you don't have to call me Tanner'

Glancing up at her after a while she nodded. 'Joel?' grunting I waited for her answer. 'does my being away from Zachary hurt him?'

Shrugging I sighed. 'I don't really know I've never paid much attention to mates who are full breeds'

'you said you weren't the one killing the mates, do you know who's doing it?' she asked suddenly. 'and why weren't you the ones I mean...with everything I've heard about hybrids'

'not all of us are as the full breeds say. Most who are hateful to the full breeds is because they were treated badly or exiled out of their pack. And the reason I didn't lead my men to do the deeds you say is simple. Mates are sacred I may be a cold hearted hybrid who doesn't like full breeds but I wouldn't do that to anyone' I answered roughly. 'my men wouldn't do that even if I asked.'

'but you took me away from Zachary'

'because Zachary wasn't taking care of you as a mate should. He left you alone for seven years alone in a pack that made you feel unwelcome. They treated you as the omega, I waited giving him a chance but he was too late to act. I had to take you away from the pack before you got hurt again' cupping her face in my hand I touched the side that her Alpha had hit her. 'he wont ever lay a hand on you again. No man will ever hit you as he did Sophia I promise.'

Pushing my hand away she moved away from me crawling off the bed she stood in front of the window with her arms wrapped round herself. Glancing back at me she shrugged. 'I was disobeying the Alpha's orders I needed to be punished.' Growling I slid off the bed.

'don't say that you're a human, he hit you to hard' I answered roughly feeling my nails grow as a stinging sensation filled my finger tips that sent pain shooting up my arms.

'how-how did you even know?'

Biting back my growl I watched her flinch when I gave another growl. Controlling myself I sighed. 'Your pack's Luna called me'

Blinking I watched her eyes widen. 'Nel wouldn't of done that she's the Luna' she answered shaking her head.

'Nel did send me a call telling me the location of you and to come and get you after Derek hit you she had enough of your abuse. She didn't know what to do till she ran across one of my men. You see rumor's spread to some that my men are evil and kill woman an children, to others we save the ones who need the saving people who are unwelcome in a pack' I answered softly watching her flinch.

'me being the unwelcomed.' She gave a sigh. 'I had a mate though I was welcomed...'

'A mate that left you alone while he took care of things. No matter what he said about making it safe for you it was a lie Sophia, while he was fucking other people he made you stay by yourself alone' I answered roughly making her lips quiver as tears welded up in her eyes.

Turning away from me I felt guilt wash over me. But it was true. And she needed to know Nel had told me everything.

'Sophia' she didn't answer I watched as her shoulders heaved as a strangled little sob filled the room retching my heart as she struggled to hold back her sobs. Walking to her I slid my arms around her resting my chin on her shoulder. She didn't say anything didn't move just cried. I stayed quiet holding my tongue letting the truth settle in slowly making me hate myself for telling the truth but yet again she needed to know her mates true colors. He was wrong for her, he would only bring her pain.

Turning my arms she gave a little gasp as she tried to breath normal. Burying her face into my chest I stroked her back  'its not true...its not true' she repeated softly.

'it is true I'm sorry but it is' I answered softly trying to sooth her.

'yo-your mean...so mean' she whimpered as she looked up at me. watching her as she sniffled her eyes puffy. 'so mean'

Cupping her face I pressed my lips to her forehead. 'the truth hurts I had to tell you' I whispered to her.

Squirming she slid her arms around my neck. 'I don't like it, I don't want to hear those things.' she answered as she just glanced away.
