A large fluffy black cat with furry ears and lynx tips sat outside Jack rooms staring at the door with its tail swatting.
"Hi Kitty," she smiled crouching down to say hello. The cat didn't even look at her, just stared at the door as if it stared strongly enough it could open the door telekinetically. She reached out to pet it, but the door burst open.
"I thought I sensed a lusty female outside my door." Jack smirked, leaning casually against the doorframe. "Oh, and you're here too Luna."
The cat strolled past him, sauntering into the room with an air of nonchalance.
"Hahaha, very funny," Willow snorted, rising to her feet and tilting her head to observe the cat perched on Jack's bed. "I didn't know you owned a cat." Willow mumbled surprised as it was the first time she saw it.
"I don't. Nobody owns Luna, but I do have a charm when it comes to females, and apparently, it's with all species. Now, I know there is another girl in my bed right now, but if it's because you can't sleep, I'm sure we all three can share." He waved for her with a questioning raised brow to get into his room.
If it hadn't been for the fact, she wasn't there to help him, she would have flipped him off and headed back to her own room. But she had promised Ian to look after him while he was on a diplomatic assignment only Deaths know where, plus she had to admit she needed the comfort too after what Death had told her and the nightmares that ensued. And for some reason had she herself slept peacefully through the night when Jack had slept in her bed, so instead of walking to her own bed after the bath she had walked to his room.
To Jack's surprise she stepped into his room.
She had chased him off yesterday, wanting to be left alone after what Death had told her and the only reason she wasn't still hiding in bed all day today was because of Jack. He had lured her out from underneath her duvet with a bag full of gummy bears, mint chocolate, and an iPod filled with music to her surprise she actually liked, but not to her surprise it had some sort of childproof lock on it making her unable to connect to the internet or get new apps, if the mansion even had WiFi. So, she had spent the whole day allowing herself to wallow for what she had lost.
"Alrighty," he mumbled, scratching his neck as she sat down on his bed with a raised brow, petting Luna who looked up at her with green eyes purring. "I wasn't exactly planning to go to bed before Charlie came back so we could play some games with Itsuki." His gaze shifted over at the television with a faint frown. Willow rose and headed over to the couch.
"We can play together, I am sure as hell I can crush you in mortal combat, if you have it." she sat down and tucking her legs up under her while looking at him with wiggly eyebrows. "or too scared you will lose?"
He responded with a cocky smile and swiftly teleported over to his shelf with games. "Oh, it's on. Prepare to eat your words, Sunshine." His body tensed for a moment before he glanced over at Willow, who was petting Luna, now curled up beside her on the couch. Jack settled down beside her, a whiff of peppermint drifting over, and she unconsciously leaned a bit closer, closing her eyes. "What are you doing?" He raised a brow as she abruptly pulled back. She saw the darkness still lingering within his eyes and sighed softly.
"Aren't you hungry?"
"Are you? I have some snacks in the closet," he pointed towards the closet, while she shook her head saying he knows what she meant. His eyes flashed with a hint of defiance before he turned his attention back to the television. "Stop asking me Willow, you won't be in doubt when I want something to eat." he growled, switching on the game.
Sighing, she decided to let it go. She didn't mind the fact if he would never eat again, but Fahima had said that reapers could attack if they were really hungry and she didn't exactly want that either. Especially cause of the feeling she got. Her body started to heat up by the thought, but decided to ignore and focused on the game.
After about half an hour, Jack released a heavy sigh before speaking up. "I'm gonna take you to your mom and Peter's before the accident occurs."
The surprise made her loose the combo.
"Really?" she whispered now completely focusing on him.
He nodded and scratched his neck. "You were stupid enough to ask the most powerful being for a favor and he decided to allow it. That doesn't happen often," he chuckled softly as he looked over at her with awe. "He said no when I asked if he would allow you too."
Staring at him in disbelief for a moment, she impulsively lunged forward to hug him. "Thank you for even asking," she murmured into his neck, sensing his body gradually relaxing from the initial shock. His heart raced beneath his chest, and he awkwardly patted her back before she released him, her cheeks flushing as she realized what she did. "Sorry, I shouldn't have hugged you."
"No, no it's okay" he mumbled a smile hanging in the corner of his mouth as he averted his eyes and scratched his neck. "I was just, surprised." he cleared his throat before reaching down and taking the controller from the floor, where he had dropped it when she hugged him.
They spent a couple of hours playing different games, screaming at the television until around midnight and Willow began to feel drowsy.
Having already changed into her t-shirt and shorts before going to Jack's room, she waited for him to get ready under the duvet while petting Luna who laid by her feet.
"If my mom knew about this she would kill me," Willow mumbled to herself, knowing that sleeping in the same bed with someone you haven't even known that long was weird, but she needed it. The nightmares made her wake up bathed in sweat each morning and makes her miss her mom even more as she would usually talk to her about stuff like this. And it wasn't like any of them did it out of other reasons than the comfort. Sighing, she hid her face in her hands, knowing she was just trying to convince herself, but as of now she couldn't care. Her life wasn't what it had been a months ago, meaning she had to follow along the best she could and accept the changes.
Luna meowed loudly as she cuddled onto her lap pouring, pulling Willow out of her head.
"Ian you better come back soon." She mumbled with a sigh, scratching Luna's chin.
"Why are you talking about another man when you're lying in my bed?" she looked over at the door seeing Jack in dark loose t-shirt and grey sweatpants with a raised brow and lips in a thin line. "That just hurt my feelings."
She rolled her eyes, played with her long soft fur.
"Let's just go to bed," Willow sighed as she turned around, feeling Jack's stare bore into her back. The bed shifted as he sat down with a sigh. Instead of turning off the night lamp, she heard the rustling of pages being turned, and her curiosity got the better of her.
"What are you reading?" She asked, as she turned to see Jack leaned up against the headboard with the book in his lap.
"The newest book from the witch Tonia Crowford, I found her books a couple months ago, they pretty good." she looked at the back of the book and saw it was fantasy, which surprised her a little due to them basically living in what many would consider a fantasy world. "I'm gonna start on it today, shall I read out loud?" Jack looked down at Willow, she nodded, her fingers gently petting Luna, who had settled comfortably in her arms.
