"Just shut up and let us get this over with," Willow sighed, watching Jack phasing around the room, her head throbbing. They had spent the last hour in a heated argument about whether he should drink from her, after he woke up with those red eyes, which had startled Willow beyond belief.

"If you want to feel good find some dude in town, I'm not a guinea pig for virgins." he mumbled scratching his neck, yet to even look her in the eyes after she fell out of the bed upon seeing his eyes. "I don't think you get it, your blood is like getting hit with a exploding grenade and it's to dangerous," the last words were merely a whisper, but she couldn't tell him the feeling was mutual as she shivered.

"Knock that off, just let us get it over with, do I have to find Darlia and force you?" she snarled, trying to hide the quiver in her voice. It wasn't only him that it affected, the whole room smelled of peppermint and the gnawing was so bad she was ready to jump him and force him. Not to mention she wanted that tingling in her body to go away and something told her it would only go away after he eaten. "This affects me too you know." she sighed, gritting her teeth over the gnawing hunger. He finally stopped phasing and looking at her with what seemed like worry. His eyes were now so dark they didn't even look blue anymore.

With a heavy sigh he approached the bed as he scratched his neck.

"Fine, but don't you dare blame whatever happens on me." his voice cracked on 'blame' as he sat down beside her. Suddenly, Willow began to feel nervous, realizing that it was actually happening. She fiddled with a lock of her hair as he carefully peeled off the bandage on her neck. "It seems to be healing nicely." he mumbled, gently letting a finger caress his bite mark, earning a shiver from Willow. He leaned closer and she quickly pulled back with her hands up.

"Wait wait wait, we need to set some ground rules. We cannot let it go as far as last time," she mumbled, with flushed cheeks, seeing his eyes already blurred by the thought of her blood.

"Sure, yeah whatever you say," he mumbled, leaning in closer, his focus entirely on her neck as he licked his lips with dilated pupils. "I shall try my best." His teeth lightly grazed her neck above the collar as he pulled her closer by the waist. Willow shivered under his touch, a slight nervousness creeping in though her heart raced of anticipation. However, any fear dissipated as his teeth sank into her neck, and a soft moan escaped Willow's lips. She leaned into the sensation, her breath deepening while her fingers tightly gripped his shirt. His teeth pulled out for a moment, and his tongue played along, pulling her up onto his lap for a better grip.

His hands laid on her waist, holding her in place while her nails dug into his back, their breath synchronizing as they both drifted away with the feeling. They locked eyes for what felt like minutes before he gently pushed her head back, before he gently pushed her head back to get a better angle on her neck, while his other played with the hem of her t-shirt. Gasping as he dug his teeth into her soft skin again, her body trembled uncontrollably, her body and mind totally in his power as she straddled him.

"Fuck"  she whispered as his fingers slid over the lower part of her back, sending shivers up her spine. A low, animal-like growl rumbled from Jack's chest as Willow shifted slightly, to mold her body against his. He pulled her even closer as she bit her lip, his hands skimming up her ribs with the hem of her shirt caught in them, ready to pull it off when Willow heard a gasp.

Blurry-eyed, Willow glanced over at the door, still clinging to Jack, who was too focused on her neck to notice Fahima standing frozen in the doorway with wide eyes. Time completely stopped and her heart skipped a beat as they looked at one another, none of them sure what to do.

"I-I'm not sure if I should leave or whack him over the head," Fahima finally managed to croak, breaking the tension. Her words drew Jack's attention, while Willow buried her face in his shoulder out of sheer embarrassment. Jack swiftly withdrew his hand from under her shirt, rising to his feet and gently settling Willow back onto the bed.

"Leave!"

"Whack him," Willow whimpered, covering her face in her hand wishing she could crawl into a hole as she fell back on the bed. "Jack just take me to Hell now, please" she groaned, beating herself in the head mentally over they once again just followed the flow.

Jack shifted his gaze from Fahima to Willow, his eyes gradually returning to their usual baby blue hue as his breathing steadied. He licked his lips, a sigh escaping him before he turned and walked into his closet, leaving Willow alone with Fahima

"Willow are you alright?" She asked nervously while scurrying towards the bed. Willow just shook her head curling up into a ball.

"I'm gonna die of shame," Willow squeaked, not believing she actually did that, what would have happened if Fahima hadn't walked in?

Fahima sat down beside her, rubbing her back awkwardly.

"Did...Did that happen last time too?" Fahima's voice was tinged with curiosity and a hint of unease, and Willow sensed Jack walking across the bed, eventually jumping down in front of her.

"Get up, we need to put bandages on it," he mumbled, gently pulling Willow up. He didn't look any of them in the eyes as Willow decided to admit to Fahima what happened last time while Jack screamed in her head she shouldn't. But she couldn't keep this a secret when Fahima caught them in it, and she needed her to know this wasn't because Willow was someone that just did this with everybody. That in fact Willow wouldn't even consider that one time she got drunk and kissed some dude a couple months ago at a party her first kiss.

"Do you always feel like this when Lina drink?" Willow mumbled, not sure she would be able to handle these moments the rest of her life. Wondering how she should explain this to a boyfriend, though it would be one from the island, wasn't exactly something you want your girlfriend to experience a few times a month.

She took a deep breath, trying to get her breathing under control as Fahima shook her head looking over at Jack.

"No, no I don't.  I do feel high as a kite, but that's it. Though feeding does hit us more than normal people though," Jack squinted at Fahima, while Willow hid her face in her hands, feeling utterly embarrassed. "Feeling of arousal happens... Well I know it suddenly started for Vadim too." She mumbled twisting her hands looking at Jack out of the corner of her eye.

"It only happens to some? Why only me and Vadim?" Willow frowned.

"That's because he has a crush on Valentina" Jack sighed from the chair by the window, while scratching his neck and averting his eyes.

" Jack! Don't say such things!" Fahima gasped terrified, staring at him with wide eyes.  "Falling in love with your companion or reaper is against the rules." She whispered looking around like simply saying the words could get them into trouble. Willow eyes widened as she looked over at Jack, now suspecting he was the one who took the book about companions from her room so she wouldn't find out. Fahima twisted her fingers as she glared at Jack.

"Oh come on it's obvious, it isn't a problem though it's against the rules because Valentina would never react on those feelings, why Darlia turns a blind eye so Vadim doesn't need to go." He groaned waving his hand dismissively while still keeping eye contact with Fahima.

"Wait, needs to go? What happen if the law is broken?"

The room fell silent for a second.

"The companion will be separated from their reaper to try and prevent the reaper from going rogue, or breaking the law of trying to make their lifespan longer." Fahima whispered, finally taking her eyes away from Jack. "Usually the companion will end somewhere in the void where the reaper is unable to find them until we die or we're killed. The law is the same no matter who likes who."

Willow fiddled with a lock of her hair while the word die, just ran on repeat in her head.

So Vadim feels like this because he has a crush on Valentina? Does this mean..? Willow thoughts went places she didn't expect as she stared at Jack that looked at the ground.

"I don't love you so it clearly can't be that" she retorted, sensing her own heartbeat quicken, a fact probably not lost on Jack given his keen hearing. Fahima coughed awkwardly, excusing herself to fetch a wet cloth from the bathroom to help clean up the mess Jack had made on her neck when he was disturbed.

"Aww, you don't? Now my feelings are hurt," he gasped dramatically taking himself to the chest.

"I can't believe you didn't tell me this was abnormal! Of all the things you should tell me is this clearly pretty high on the list! And why do we feel... this when we don't like one another? I haven't even known you for that long! So how the hell should it be love?" Willow stammered, getting pretty scared over the whole ordeal. What if something was wrong with them? What if she would be cast into the void because of this? What would happen to Jack?

"I like you." Jack smiled.

They looked at each other for what felt like a decade.

"...no, no you don't." Willow rolled her eyes.

"It seemed like the part of our fight where I should say it," he smirked, making her anger rise even more.

"Why are you doing this?" He looked at her with confusion, hearing the fear in her voice. "Treating me like this? Do you hate me or something? Or do you just not care if I live or die?"

His eyes widened for a second before he shook his head.

"I don't hate you, nor want you to die. But I can't like you either, humans live a short life, I live forever. I can't let myself get attached to someone that will just die on me, or put you in danger," he sighed, scratching his neck. Something in his voice made her believe this wasn't his words, but rather words he had been told. Wondering shortly if that was why the law was set in place, Fahima came back into the room.

"Here you go," Fahima handed the cloth to Willow, who proceeded to wipe off the blood. Fahima then settled onto the bed beside her. The room was filled with an awkward silence, punctuated only by Jack's occasional glances toward Willow as she cleaned up. After a while, Fahima let out a sigh, shooting a glare at Jack that Willow didn't catch while she was occupied. "I'm not gonna say anything, I promise" She took a hold of Willow's hand and looked into her eyes to make sure Willow knew she meant it.

"Thank you." Willow smiled, pulling Fahima in for a hug. She didn't know why this was happening, but it was clear that it wasn't normal and probably why Jack had been so insistent on making sure Willow didn't say anything. Catching a glimpse of Jack from the corner of her eye, she noticed a small, relieved smile on his lips.
