Chapter 8
The security officer growls and shakes his head. Anger darkens his eyes, and he prowls over to Drake. Pulling his hand back, he punches Drake, whose head snaps back. The crunch of his nose breaking makes my stomach turn, but it effectively silences him once more and blood gushes down his lips and drips onto his black
hoodie.
âF ucking shut your b itch mouth!â The security officer snaps, his face contorted with anger.
Ethanâs jaw clenches as he stares at me, but he says nothing. His eyes are dark with
rage.
âWhat do you want me to do with him, boss?â The officer asks, and the muscle in Ethanâs jaw jumps before he replies.
âIâll handle it. You can leave.â Ethan says coldly while removing his jacket and undoing his cuff links. I stare at his tattooed hands and the bulky family ring on his middle finger. No one fears a family crest more than they do the Levin family. It screams power, money, and control.
âSir?â The officers hesitate for just a moment. He pulls out Drakeâs wallet and hands
it to Ethan.
I watch Ethan flip open the brown leather wallet. Looking at Drakeâs driverâs
license.
âAny relation to police chief McNair?â
âYeah, thatâs my dad, and heâs going to take your as s in. Unless you want to make a deal.â Drake snaps, and I roll my eyes. His father wouldnât take someone in for catching Drake. After their last fight 12 months ago, he would probably give them a medal. Not that it has stopped Drake throwing his fatherâs name around like it holds weight. I donât like that heâs willing to use me to make a deal with Ethan.
I can only imagine what Ethan will do to me; none of it will be good.
âSir?â the security officer says again.

âLeave.â Drake growls, and the security officer looks at him again. Then, with a nod from Ethan, they eventually exit the warehouse, leaving us alone with him. The moment they do, Ethan strolls forward and punches Drake. His head snaps back, and his eyes instantly swell shut. Drakeâs cheek is dented. His wolf heals him quickly, and Ethan waits for him to be healed before punching him again and again. This time, one of Ethanâs teeth is spat from his lips. By the time he is done, Ethanâs hands are bl oody, and blood coats the ground where it is sprayed. Yet, Drake clearly has lost a few brain cells.
âCoward, hitting me when I canât even defend myself,â Ethan chuckles like he finds his words amusing and stomps over to him. Drake is now completely healed. At the same time, me being Omega, healing those sorts of face wounds would take me weeks. It doesnât help that Iâve never shifted either.
Ethan undoes his handcuffs and tosses them in his lap. Drake stares at him and then c ockily gets to his feet like he stands a chance before realizing he only comes up to Ethanâs chest. Ethan raises an eyebrow at him, but Drakeâs ego refuses to recognize heâs challenging a six-and-a-half-foot alpha, not a 5-foot Omega. Drake punches Ethan in the ribs, and Drake hisses slightly while Ethan merely looks down at where he hit him, as he is already bored.
Drake swings again, but this time at Ethanâs face. Ethan is a lot faster and catches his fist. The grinding of Drakeâs knuckles as Ethan squeezes his fist is sickening, followed by the snapping of his fingers. Drake wails and screams.
âSeriously, him, an Omega with this fool? Are you trying to get yourself killed?â Ethan asks, looking at me. Ethan lets his hand go and grabs his throat, lifting him effortlessly while Drakeâs face changes color. I hunker down in my chair when I hear a loud thud; Drake screams, clutching his face, his nose now flat, and both eyes instantly swell shut. Blood is on Ethanâs forehead, so I know he head-butted
him.
He moves toward his jacket, which is draped over a nearby table, and pulls out a handkerchief. He dabs his forehead, clearly not fazed by turning his back on Drake. When Ethan turns back around to face us, Drakeâs face has healed slightly and his eyes widen ever so slightly. He falls back into the chair, admitting defeat and putting his own handcuffs back on.
My fear and shame grow worse with each passing second, and for a moment, I worry that maybe, just perhaps, Ethan will take Drake up on what heâs offering. That Drake will let Ethan have me to save his own a ss. I couldnât imagine what Ethan would do to me.

We arenât the same people that we were a long time ago, and his hatred for me has only festered. I can see it in his eyes when he looks from Drake to me. His dark eyes pin me in place, and I look towards Drake. Itâs hopeless to say anything to him right
now.
Grinning maliciously, Drake addresses Ethan. âDidnât want to share her?â
Ethan says nothing. He just watches Drake for a second. His lips press into a thin line and the knot in my throat feels so tight that even if I wanted to speak, I know I wouldnât be able to.
Does he not understand who heâs talking to? Of course, if he did, he certainly wouldnât dare speak to a Levin man so casually. Ethanâs family is well known, and for good reason. Theyâre elitists, a powerful family with a hand in everything that happens in this country, both legal and illegal.
âWant her all to yourself, huh? F uck, Iâll sell her to you if you want her that bad. You can f uck that-â He says, but Ethan doesnât let him continue.
In one swift motion, Ethan pulls a gun from the back of his pants and shoots Drake in the leg. The sound of the gunshot echoes through the warehouse, and Iâm hit with the coppery scent of blood. My stomach rolls, and I stare in shock at my boyfriend, unable to comprehend what had just happened. All the while, Drake wails, screams, and thrashes in his seat. His blood runs down his leg and spills onto
the floor.
