Mizuki stared up at the boy with wide eyes, not expecting him to pull a move like that. When the boy had flipped them over Mizuki had dropped the knife and it fell a few feet away from them.

The boy was holding Mizuki's wrist just like he had done but he was shorter and had a smaller build then Mizuki.

"I'm not crying!" The boy stated with a hard tone, blinking away any trace of tears.

"Are you sure? I could have sworn you were tearing up a couple of seconds ago." Mizuki smirked at him.

He could have easily gained back control but he decided to let the boy stay on top and see what he would do.

"I was not!" He repeated.

The guy stared at Mizuki and tried to figure out how he would get a weapon out without letting go of his hands. The hands of the man underneath him were much too large to hold with one hand since his hand was much smaller in comparison.

"So what's the plan now?" Mizuki asked with a grin. "Are you just going to stay on top of me? I can't say I mind but my legs are starting to feel a bit numb."

"You-what?" The boy said in confusion, his mind not wrapping around the words that Mizuki was spewing.

"Come on, let's just talk like civilized people." Mizuki said and then he lifted his hands, along with the boy's hand and sat up making the boy fall back on his butt in shock.

He used the moment to get his knife and then he crawled towards the boy making him back away until his back hit a tree and Mizuki was all up against him.

"Let me tell you what's going to happen now." Mizuki said, raising his knife once again and running it across the boy's freckled cheek.

He kinda wished it was his fingers touching him instead of the knife but he didn't dwell on that thought too much.

"You're going to be my hostage." Mizuki declared. "You're going to get up and walk with me to my horse and I'll tie your hands behind you and then you're going to stay with me."

"Why would I do that?" The boy bit out, as he tried to ignore the feeling of the cold blade against his skin.

"Because you don't have any other choice, sweetheart." Mizuki answered.

"I don't think Cash is coming back any time soon and there's no way you would be able to run away from me. You can try and fight me but we both know where that's gonna lead you to." He said and pointedly stared at their position, Mizuki overpowering him once again.

When the boy didn't say anything Mizuki grinned and put away his dagger before grabbing the boy by the wrists and hauling them up.

He grabbed the bag on the ground, figuring that his weapons could come to use in the future.

Mizuki twisted the boy's arms behind him and held his wrist with one of his hands while the other held the bag and then he started walking toward where he left Niko.

"Why don't you just kill me?" The boy asked after a moment of silence.

"Because I think you're too precious to be killed." Mizuki said and the boy's eyebrows furrowed before he suddenly remembered the crown imprint he had on his arm.

"I knew it." He muttered under his breath.

"Knew what?" Mizuki asked, but he was only met with silence.

Despite not receiving an answer Mizuki knew that he meant not wearing clothes that showed their status.

Every warrior that went to war from Rivania had the same type of clothing. It's safer not to parade that you're a royal or high member of the country and so he wondered why the people of Yarisha have the uniforms that they do.

Soon, they reached where Mizuki had left Niko and his own bag. Mizuki walked towards the bag and got out his rope which he used to tie up the boy's wrist.

"Is this really necessary?" The boy asked and Mizuki nodded.

"Yes, I can't have you run away now can I?" He replied.

He then grabbed Niko's reins and they started walking together.

"Where are we going?" Mizuki's hostage asked.

"To find a cave." He answered. "The sun is setting so it's best if we sleep for now."

"What's your name?" Mizuki then asked after realizing he still didn't know.

"I'm not telling you." The boy muttered.

"Alright then I'll just call you sweetheart then." Mizuki grinned, knowing that no one would like being called sweetheart by their abductor, and the boy grimaced.

"That's weird. You can call me Ren." He said.

"Is that your full name?" Mizuki asked making him groan in frustration.

"Yes." He muttered.

"Liar." Mizuki declared and Ren didn't bother to reply.

"Look there's a cave right there!" Ren said, pointing over to where there was indeed a cave.

"Great, let's go." Mizuki said walking a bit faster.

"What's your name?" Ren suddenly asked as they entered the dark cave.

"Mizuki."

Ren didn't reply but simply nodded as Mizuki attached Niko once again to a tree next to the cave and then went inside to look for supplies which were usually left there because of the ongoing war.

He found three water bottles, a sac of bread which looked pretty recent and he decided that was enough for tonight as tomorrow they would either go hunting or fishing.

He saw Ren slide down to the floor from the corner of his eyes and then he glanced down at the blanket that was next to the food.

He grabbed everything and walked next to his captive and sat down next to him. Since they were right next to each other he decided to drape the blanket over their legs.

"Here have some bread." He said handing him the bag of bread and opening one of the water bottles to drink some while handing another one to Ren as well.

"How am I supposed to eat?" Ren asked incredulously.

"Oh, right." Mizuki said with a guilty smile as he remembered his tied hands.

He opened the bag himself and then he held the bread to Ren's lips making his honey eyes widened in shock but nevertheless, he opened his mouth and took a bite of the tasteless bread.

"Water." Ren mumbled after finishing the piece of bread and Mizuki had to bite his lip to prevent himself from smiling.

He held the water bottle to his lips and slightly tilted it so Ren could properly drink.

When he was done feeding Ren, Mizuki started to eat himself and ignored the inquisitive eyes of Ren that were starting at the side of his head.

Mizuki knew he wasn't the ideal abductor. He should have left Ren to starve and kept the blanket for himself but his conscience just wouldn't let him do such a cruel thing.

"Where should I sleep?" Ren asked.

"In the back of the cave." Mizuki replied and Ren frowned.

"Why do I have to be at the back?" He asked.

"Because then I can make sure you don't run away, I'll hear you rustling." Mizuki answered his question.

"You can have the blanket." He added and Ren nodded, grasping the chance to have some kind of warmth.

"Can you tie my hands at the front?" Ren asked and after a moment of hesitation Mizuki nodded, it would be hard for him to sleep if his hands were behind his back.

So Mizuki untied his hands and then tied them again in front of him.

Ren slowly pushed himself off and then he grabbed the blankets with his fingers and disappeared in the dark cave, leaving Mizuki's legs cold.

Hello!

Thoughts??

I know it's weird how nice Mizuki is but that's just how he is.

I also know that the caves are random and my whole war set up too, but I just felt like writing it like that cause it's cool jsjs.

And finally, even if it's in the third point of view it's mainly Mizuki's POV right now so that's why I'm not writing Eren's real name yet because in Mizuki's eyes he's called Ren.

-till next time 🤍
