Chapter Four:

Emberly's POV:

"Emberly, where is the damn construction file?" he shouted in the intercom.

'Up your arse.' I mentally shouted back.

When he said welcome to hell, he hadn't been kidding at all. Since morning he had been calling me in his office non-stop. He even made me run across the building to get a file, which was lying on his table, still untouched. I just wanted to strangle him till he was out of breath or better yet, till he was suffocating and begging for my mercy.

I scowled and made my way in his office and glared at him. If only looks could kill he would be so dead by now.

"What's wrong Emberly? Not happy with this job? You can always quit." He said sarcastically.

How badly I wanted to wipe that annoying smirk from his face. I forced a smile, which I bet looked scary and shook my head. I continued to search for the file and narrowed my eyes when I found it right on his table.

"Oh how did that get there?" He pretended to be surprised.

I was thinking of all the happy places I'd ever been to, which by the way was not a lot, to stop myself from killing him.

"Anything else Sir?" I asked, my voice deadpan.

Yeah did I mention he made me call him Sir? Well he did give me two options, Master or Sir.

"Yeah order Chinese for me and find Lucy, the girl I had sex with last night, and send her a voucher of something. She was good and do it before lunch now shoo away."

My eyes widened on the Lucy part, how could he so casually speak about it to a person he barely knows? Especially me. Don't get me wrong I was not a saint but I was never comfortable with people discussing their sex life with me. There's a thing called privacy.

"What?" He scrunched his eyebrows together.

I realised I was staring at him so I quickly shook my head. A blush crept on my cheeks.

"Wait let me guess... Virgin?" He questioned me and my eyes nearly popped out from their sockets. I knew for sure he was having the time of his life trying not to laugh at my bewildered expression.

"It's none of your business." I quickly added feeling heat creeping up my cheeks and ears. He laughed at that.

"Oh god. I should have known. I mean you do dress like the Virgin Mary. That explains a lot." He said in between his laughs.

Now that was like cold water sprinkled on really hot oil.

"Do you want me to book an appointment with the doctor for an STD check-up sir?" I managed to say between my gritted teeth.

He immediately stopped laughing and sort of grumbled.

"Just do what I've told you to do." I nodded suppressing a smile at his deadpan face.

'Two can play that game' I said in my head.

Knowing he couldn't fire me, sort of gave me this confidence where I could say anything I wanted to without fear of getting kicked out.

By now, I knew one thing for sure. I was never ever in a million years wearing heels whilst working for him ever. The guy made me run more than Usain Bolt. I took the heels off and massaged my feet a little.

Running around the street to get him Chinese was the stupidest move ever. I could've ordered someone to get it but no I had to get it myself. I was tired by now and really hungry. Whilst he was munching on his food I was actually typing letters.

One thing I noticed about Arran was that he was damn serious when it came to work. I almost admired him for that, if only he weren't so arrogant. I still remembered the scolding I got earlier just for typing one word wrong. Just one word and hey I was rushing it because he kept shouting 'Is it done?' again and again. The dude had eyes like an eagle. Or he obviously just enjoyed scolding me.

I watched all of his movements through the transparent, glass wall. There was no doubt he was extremely good looking. But when he was working he had this façade of 'don't mess with me' and I hated to admit but he was pretty damn clever for his age. Only 25 and CEO, unbelievable. First I thought it was only his dad's money but the way he was working all morning proved me wrong. But at the same time it made me wonder what made him this way? I knew money got in your head but it didn't make you so ruthless. Did it? Just because you were a billionaire didn't mean you had to be so arrogant to others.

Along with his good looks, he was gifted with a charismatic personality. Obviously the only exception of receiving his charm was me but his dark and mysterious personality was a huge turn on for any one. The way he carried himself, I couldn't believe I was saying this but this rude, arrogant attitude suited him. What the hell was I even thinking? I shook my head trying to shrug off his image in my mind and carried on typing emails.

I heard the intercom buzz again so I turned the speakers on. How much I hate this invention.

"Yes...?" I waited for him to reply.

"Office now." All he seemed to do was give orders.

Nevertheless, I made myself enter his office again without wearing the killer shoes. He eyed me questionably but I just slumped my shoulders in defeat. I didn't bother to explain why I wasn't wearing heels.

"Emberly I want you to fax these documents to these persons. I need it done within an hour. Am I clear?"

I wanted to scream no because no matter how embarrassing it was for me, I didn't know how to fax documents. But still I nodded and took the documents from his hand.

"Oh and one more thing. Do not let anyone inside." He ordered.

Sitting on the comfortable chair, I was cursing myself for getting ill when they were teaching everyone how to fax.  I hadn't felt it was important to learn it until now. I was hungry, tired from not getting enough sleep yet I had so much to do. I sighed and searched 'how to fax'. Carefully following the instructions, I managed to fax the papers or at least that was what I thought I did.

I was so busy with my work that I didn't even see a girl slip into Arran's office. By the time I noticed, it was too late. I dared not to go inside but I could hear both of them shouting at the top of their lungs and soon I saw the same girl coming outside and trembling in anger. She glared at me dangerously while muttering something under her breath.

Have you ever had that feeling when you know something bad is about to happen? Well that was how I was feeling.

That's when the intercom buzzed again.
