Chapter 32 of 50

Getting Help

♡♡ Getting Help ♡♡

We pulled into the school parking lot were I parked my truck. I couldn't take my mind off Victoria. Just when I thought things might get easier, a blood thirsty vampire snuck into my room.

Jasper was looking out the window, seemingly lost in thought. I was very worried for him, he was going to exhaust himself and I knew it. I prayed that Jacob would help us and take some of the pressure off of Jasper.

He took a deep breath and opened the door. I followed him out. He had stopped in front of the hood of my truck. I gave him a small smile and he returned it quickly. Soon after he gently cupped my face and gave me a light kiss.

"I'll see you in a few hours." He sighed.

"Okay." I answered, not looking forward to our time apart. "I love you." I whispered.

His smile grew in size, "I love you too."

I turned to walk away, but was quickly stopped by a high pitched voice.

"Jasper!"

I turned to see Alice jogging towards us. What was she doing here? What did she want with Jasper? I couldn't help myself from being a little weary around her. I trusted Jasper's loyalty, but she was just so much... better than me.

"Alice?" Jasper questioned.

She was standing a few feet away now, kind of like she was afraid to get any closer, "It's Victoria, she's coming. Soon, she's coming soon."

"We know, she was in Bella's room yesterday." Jasper responded.

"No, you don't understand. She's creating an army." Alice said quickly.

"What?" Jasper gasped in shock.

"Everything that's happening in Seattle, it's all her. She's going to attack us."

"How did I not see that?" Jasper mumbled. "It's so obvious."

I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. I was worried about taking on Victoria alone, now she had an army. This was terrifying. I stood there in shock wondering how we could survive this. Even with the wolves help we wouldn't be able to fight her.

"She'll be here in a little less than a week." Alice said grimly.

Jasper didn't respond, and ran a hand through his hair. You could feel the nervous energy radiating off of him.

"We'll need to train." Alice stated.

I furrowed my eyebrows. "You're going to help us?" I questioned.

"Of course." Alice answered immediately. "I'm trying to get the others to help too. They'll be there."

"Have you seen it?" Jasper asked.

Alice hesitated, "Well no, but I have a feeling."

Jasper slowly inhaled and exhaled, nodding his head. An awkward silence filled the air as the students around us had gone to class now.

"I'll call you if I have new information. Okay?"

"Okay." Jasper whispered.

Alice fiddled with her sweater, "You just, um... just take care of each other." She muttered.

"Of course." Jasper answered.

"Good." She nodded, her lips drew into a thin line. Alice turned and began to make her way back to where she had come from.

"Alice." Jasper called after her.

She stopped and turned to look back.

"Thank you." Me and Jasper said at the same time.

Her lips lifted up in the corners and she gave a us minuscule nod. With that she was gone, disappearing around the corner.

Jasper exhaled slowly. You could practically see as the stress was overwhelmed him. His eyes were onyx and his entire body was stiff. I took his hand. I couldn't stand to see him like that. He gripped it tight, but said nothing. We stood there for a few minutes without saying a word.

Jasper spoke up all too soon, "Bella you need to get to class. I'll be close." He sighed.

I nodded my head slowly. He was right, but that didn't make leaving his side any easier.

"I'll see you at lunch right?" I asked.

"Yes, of course." He promised and tried to fake a smile.

The school day dragged on without any problems. Me and Jasper spent my lunch together in my truck. You could tell we were both very tense, as there wasn't the usual banter.

After the day ended me and Jasper went on a mission over to the boundary line. I had called Jake, but he hadn't answered, so I left him a message asking him to meet me here. I just hoped he would. We needed his help.

Me and Jasper sat in my truck as rain poured outside. An hour had passed and I began to give up hope that Jake would come. Jasper insisted we stay for another few minutes, and luckily Jacob pulled up in his car at the last second.

I got out quickly to meet him.

"Jacob! Hey!" I called to him.

He smiled slightly, but it soon turned to a scowl as he glanced at Jasper.

"What are you two doing here?" He asked with undertones of hostility.

"We really need your help Jake."

He scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Why would I ever help him?"

"Just hear me out. Please." I pleaded.

His expression softened slightly.

"I'm being hunted Jacob, by an army of vampires. We can't fight them alone."

"Can we please set aside our differences Jacob? This is about Bella's safety." Jasper spoke up.

Jacob seemed to think things over for a minute. His face slowly became kinder reminding me more of the carefree boy I had seen when I had moved here.

"We'll be there. For Bella." He finally agreed.

A huge wave of relief washed across me. Thank God.

"We'll have a training session later this week. I would recommend you and the pack come, these aren't regular vampires we're talking about here." Jasper informed him.

"Yeah, yeah, as long as I get to kill some vampires."
