Chapter 27: Blue Moon

GIANNA

I landed on my back, panting madly. Every inch of my body hurt, and I groaned with every small movement.

I heard Kol collapse to my right and looked at him lying on his back, panting with his eyes closed. “Shit, that was intense.” He glared at me when I laughed.

No, we weren’t having sex, unfortunately. We had just had our asses handed to us by my mother. Who knew she could fight?

All my life, she had been this peace-loving hippie, and now she was some badass warrior. The woman had moves!

She stood over us both. “Get up,” she barked.

I groaned and rolled over. “Can we have a break, Mom, please?”

“Merrida won’t give you a break just because you’re tired, Gianna. Get your goddamn ass up.”

Kol slowly rose to his feet. “I’m starting to see where you get your impatience from, and here I thought it was your father,” he muttered bitterly.

I smacked him on the shoulder, and he winced. “What’s the matter? Big bad alpha can’t handle himself against a witch?” I sneered at him.

He shot me a dark look. “Easy for you, G. You have powers; you can block what she throws at you. What can I block with these?” He held up his fists.

“Be so much easier if I had powers like you; then at least we could tag team her.”

“OH MY GOD! THAT’S IT!” my mother shouted and ran toward the castle.

“Training is over. You both can go. I have to check something. Speak soon. Love you. Bye,” she called over her shoulder in one breath, and then she was gone.

I looked at Kol and shrugged. “Come on. Let’s go to the pack house and see how Diego and Liv are getting on with the pack.”

“Gia! Gia! Gianna!” I heard Liv before I saw her. She rushed up to me, her face flustered, her hair in a windswept ponytail. “I need to talk to you!” She grabbed my arm and dragged me away.

I saw panic on Diego’s face. “Um, what about, babe?”

“You’ll find out soon enough,” she shot over her shoulder and dragged me off, ignoring Diego’s pale white face; he was clearly thinking the worst.

She dragged me into an empty office and plonked me in a chair, sitting across from me. Her eyes were dancing with an emotion I couldn’t quite place.

“What is it, Liv? Spit it out.”

She squirmed in her seat. “Gia, you’re royalty, and Diego is royalty, and well, actually, your whole family is royalty.”

I stared at her. “Yes, Liv, I am aware. Did you hit your head or something?”

She shot me a look and continued her tangent. “Did your father ever say anything to you about a blue moon haze?”

“Excuse me, a what?”

“Well, I’ve been doing some research, because you know I’m going to be a princess kind of soon, and anyway, I came across this legend in one of the books about a haze that only affects royalty and their mates on the blue moon.”

Suddenly, that look in her eye was starting to make sense; she was losing it.

I reached out and touched her forehead with the back of my hand and then my palm. “Gia! What’re you doing?!”

“Checking for a fever; you’ve obviously gone mad.”

“I have not gone mad!”

“Liv, it’s just a legend! You don’t believe it, do you?!”

She eyed me suspiciously. “There’s a blue moon rising tonight; do you feel different?”

I rolled my eyes at her. “Liv, were you drinking with lunch?”

“Call your parents, Gia, and ask them!”

“Now I know you’re drunk! I am NOT calling my parents and asking them about sex!”

She shot me such a glare, I actually thought she would rip my head off. I grumbled but caved. “Fine. I’ll call Mom, but I know it’s just a legend.”

I dialed Mom’s number as per the princess’s request, being sure to roll my eyes as I did so and putting the phone on speaker. Mom answered on the third ring.

“Hi, darling!”

“Hey, Mom, I’ve a question for you. It’s, um, about a haze.”

“What is it, darling?”

“Liv found this legend during her research about a haze happening during a blue moon that only affects royalty and their mates.”

Silence.

“Mom?”

“Mmm?”

“The haze?”

“Oh yes! It’s magnificent, darling, incredibly passionate and intense.”

I cringed and felt my face flush with embarrassment. Liv jumped from her chair, squealing. “Thanks, Mom.” I hung up the phone.

Liv danced around the room. “I was right! I was right! I knew it! Woo-hoo!”

“Right about what, babe? Why does Gia look like she just swallowed a mouthful of wolfsbane?” Diego came into the room with Kol close behind him.

Liv leapt into his arms. “We just spoke to your mom about the blue moon haze. Gia thought it was just a legend, but your mom said it’s true.”

I sank farther into the chair, groaning at the memory I was trying to erase permanently from my mind.

“What’s the blue moon haze?” Kol piped up.

Liv danced around the room again “Well, Kol. It’s a haze brought on the blue moon that only affects royalty and their mates. Apparently it’s incredibly passionate and intense.

“I’ve read it’s like a hundred hazes at once! Guess what?! There’s a blue moon tonight!” She was practically singing at this point. I wanted to slap the excited look off both the boys’ faces.

Kol followed me around the kitchen like a lovesick puppy. “Do you feel anything?” I ignored him and continued making dinner, Mom’s casserole, which happened to be his favorite.

I handed him a plate silently. “How about now?”

I sighed. “No, Kol I don’t feel—oooooohhhh.” I stopped mid-turn. My body was on fire, a heat like no other.

My sex was throbbing and aching. I knew if I took one step, it would send me over the edge and into the bliss of an orgasm. My eyes met Kol’s, and his widened. Clearly, the haze was hitting him too.

Before I could blink, he had stripped me and flipped me onto the table. The thud of my body knocked the breath out of me and cracked the table in half.

We fell to the floor with a thump, limbs entwined, mouths on each other everywhere and anywhere we could get them.

He slid his fingers into me and pumped wildly. I moaned loudly, clawing his back. ~Oh my God.~

He growled deep into my neck and bit down. I screamed out in delight, my legs wrapping around his waist. I flipped him over so I was straddling him and slipped him inside me. ~“Oooooohhhh.”~

I gyrated on him, and he thrust up in response, his thumb rubbing circles on my clit. My eyes rolled in my head.

He flipped me over and onto my tummy. Grabbing handfuls of my ass, he pounded inside me like a madman.

I felt myself soaring, my head dizzy. Without warning him, I lifted my hips off the floor, sticking my butt farther up to his crotch.

He growled in appreciation and drove himself farther into me, wrapping his arm around my waist to cup my breasts, pinching my nipples, his mouth on my neck, his tongue caressing the spot he bit down on.

“Scream for me,” he growled in my ear, thrusting hard, his fingers on my clit, and I lost it. “Oooooooooohhhhh fuck, Kol!” I cried out, losing myself to the orgasm that had been building.

We both collapsed to the floor in a heap, our legs intertwined, our chests rising and falling together. “That was fucking amazing,” he breathed.

I just nodded, too out of breath to speak. We looked at each other, giggling slightly. I opened my mouth to say something when it struck again.

My body burned up like I was on fire; his eyes darkened with lust, and he pounced.

DIEGO

I’m not gonna lie; I thought Liv was making up this blue moon stuff; I didn’t feel any different.

I lay on my bed, flicking through Netflix to find something to watch while she had a bath, and then it hit me.

I tensed up on the bed, hard as a goddamn rock ~One move and I’m gonna blow.~ I closed my eyes. ~Any second now it’ll hit her, and she’ll bolt out the door. Don’t move, Diego, do not move.~

Eyes still closed, I heard her. “Diego? Do you feel it too?” she whispered. I just nodded silently, hands clenched into fists on the sheets, afraid to move in case I burst a goddamn nut.

I heard her whimper at the bathroom door and looked over. “Are you okay?” She looked frozen to the spot. “I can’t move. It’s too intense.” Her eyes were wide.

I could scent her from the bed, and it drove me insane.

She blinked, and I had her thrown on the bed. I was practically feral from the fuck-me pheromones she was giving off. We had taken it nice and easy up to this, not too rough, but not overly gentle.

She was so small, I hadn’t wanted to hurt her. At this point, I didn’t care. Her eyes glazed over, and she grabbed me.

We smashed down onto the bed, clawing at each other, a battle of who got to be on top, who got their release first.

We weren’t mates or lovers at this point; we were at war, and one of us was going to win first.

For such a small woman, she was strong. I was pinned down to the bed by her legs as she bounced. I was not complaining. The sight alone almost set me off.

I grabbed her hips with such force I’m sure I left bruises. She didn’t even wince. We did it every which way.

I took her from behind, against the wall, on the floor, on my balcony, half out the window, in the bathroom. Just when we had stopped to catch a breath, it struck again. ~Oh yeah! Best night of my life by miles!~
