Chapter 5: Halloween Bashes & Smashes

I'm Mariana Gilbert. (TVD fanfic: Damon Salvatore)Words: 29102

I got out of bed lazily and made my way to the bathroom. I opened the door and saw Jeremy brushing his teeth. He nodded his head at  me in acknowledgment once he saw me and I looked at him curiously. "Here, I'm done." He pointed out as he set his toothbrush down on the sink.

"Why are you up so early? Where are you going?" I asked, since it wasn't even an hour until school would start.

"They're arranging a search party at the police station for Vicki. I'm gonna go help." Jeremy informed before walking to his room quickly and I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Shouldn't you go to school?" Elena questioned as she came into the bathroom from her room and Jeremy turned to both of us.

"You're kidding, right?" He asked in annoyance, clearly not seeing her point.

"School is still important, Jeremy. When they find Vic, we'll know. You have a cellphone, don't you?" I replied sarcastically, not wanting this argument to start getting heated.

"I see your mouth moving, and I don't know why." Jeremy shrugged before giving a fake smile and going into his room. I rolled my eyes in defeat and turned to Elena who shook her head and grabbed her toothbrush as well.

~~~
Elena rang the door bell of the Boarding house while I looked around the front yard curiously, thinking that it looked bigger than I remembered. The front door opened and I turned to see Damon who smirked at us and leant up against the door once he saw it was Elena and I standing in front of him. "Is Stefan here?" Elena asked emotionlessly and Damon looked past her, to me.
"Yep." He answered, ignoring her as we looked at each other intently and I rose my eyebrow.
"Where is he?" Elena asked impatiently, making Damon turn his attention to her finally.
"And good morning to you, little miss 'I'm on a mission'." He countered with a fake smile.
"How can you be so arrogant and glib after everything that you've done?" Elena asked in annoyance, tilting her head at Damon who rose an eyebrow.
"And how can you be so brave and stupid to call a vampire arrogant and glib?" Damon countered, shaking his head at her in disbelief.
"If you wanted me dead, I'd be dead." Elena stated, narrowing her eyes at him.
"Yes, you would." He agreed with a sigh, no longer wanting to talk to her.
"But I'm not." Elena pointed out carelessly, shrugging back at him in a matter of fact way.
"Yet." Damon warned, clearly getting irritated with her.
"So if you want to be dead, Elena—just keep talking." I informed, rolling my eyes at her before I turned back to Damon. "Where's Stefan?" I asked in a nicer tone.
"He's upstairs dancing to 'singing in the rain'. Knock yourselves out." He answered before widening the door for us. I nodded and passed through with ease and Elena followed right behind me. I walked into the living room, looking around at the familiar surroundings while Elena roamed the hall and Damon shut the door before standing beside me.
"Stefan?" Elena asked around the house in a loud voice. "Stefan?" She repeated after not getting an answer before he appeared on the stairs above her.
"Yes?" He asked quietly, looking down at her expectantly.
"Where is Vicki?" She said cautiously, staring up him before he put a finger to his ear and gestured up the set up stairs leading to the second floor above us.
"She's upstairs." Stefan stated as he came down the stairs and stood in front of her.
"What happens now? Because my brother is out there searching for her with the rest of the town." Elena stated in concern.
"What do we tell him?" I clarified as I turned in his direction but my eyes still gazed over the antiques surrounding me.
"I'm working with her but it's going to take time. She has a very volatile and impulsive personality. She's a drug user, and that's all gonna play a part in how she responds to this." Stefan informed with a sigh, giving us as much information as he knows at the moment. I looked back at Damon who shrugged, obviously uninterested in the conversation.
"So she's a vampire with issues?" Elena asked and shook her head at Stefan in annoyance, not being very subtle. "What are we supposed to do? Because we are lying to everyone that we care about—what's gonna happen to her?" She asked worriedly and gestured upstairs.
"I'm gonna keep her here with me, until I know that she's safe." Stefan reassured with a nod and I rose my eyebrow at him.
"How long is that?" A voice asked and we all looked up at the stairs to see Vicki watching us, clearly over hearing the conversation.
"We can talk about that later." Stefan pointed out, nodding toward her in reassurance.
"Hey.. Vicki—How are you?" Elena asked softly, making Vicki scoff back.
"How am I? You're kidding, right?" She countered in annoyance and Elena looked slowly down in defeat while I sighed loudly.
"You're right—Why would we care how you're doing?" I asked sarcastically and watched Vicki glare back at me. I gave her a fake smile in return before I rolled my eyes and moved over to Damon's alcohol rack.
~~~

I eyed Vicki carefully and leant against a wall while her, Stefan and Elena all sat at the table drinking coffee. "Caffeine is our friend. It circulates through our veins and warms our bodies so we're not so cold to the touch." Stefan informed as he gestured at the cup she held.

"Well, what if I want to drink human blood?" Vicki asked, watching him closely.

"Well, you're gonna have to fight that urge and fight it on a daily basis one day at a time." Stefan nodded slowly making her groan.

"Ugh, don't start with that whole twelve steps thing." Vicki scoffed annoyance. "School counselor has been down that road and it doesn't work for me." She added, tilting her head at him in disbelief.

"It can work. It's your choice, Vicki." Stefan pointed out in a matter of fact tone.

"So you've never tasted human blood?" She asked in some amusement, letting the space fall silent. I watched Stefan look at Elena uncomfortably while she was watching him expectantly.

"Not in a long time." Stefan finally replied after a few seconds, bringing his attention back to Vicki.

"How long?" Vicki asked and I knew she was trying to get under his skin at this point.

"Years and years. I'm not very proud of my past behavior." Stefan admitted and I looked at Elena who sat uneasily in her chair after his answer.

"Does this sketchy feeling ever go away? It's like I have a massive hangover." Vicki groaned, changing the subject as she held her head. "And this daylight thing is a bitch. I need more blood." She stated before quickly standing up. "Where's your bathroom? I have to pee—why do I have to pee, I thought I was dead?" She asked, shaking her head in annoyance before walking away.

"I'm gonna get her some more.." Stefan started to say, letting his voice trail off as he stood from the table. "I'll be quick." He added reassuringly toward Elena before walking out of the room. I sighed as Elena stood up from the table and walked over to me once Vicki came back from the bathroom.

"False alarm. My body's feeling funky—It's a good funk but it's weird." Vicki pointed out and I rose my eyebrow at Damon who shrugged carelessly from across me while Vicki grabbed her phone.

"Who are you calling?" Elena asked curiously and folded her arms over her chest.

"Jeremy." Vic answered with a shrug, dialing into her phone and I rose my eyebrow.

"Vicki, you can't see Jeremy anymore." Elena stated, making Vicki look up from her phone.

"Oh, come on—don't you start. I'm gonna see whoever I wanna see." She fired back, obviously annoyed.

"Even though you could hurt him?" I asked with uncertainty, meeting her gaze.

"I would never hurt, Jeremy." Vic countered, narrowing her eyes at me.

"I know you think that, but I can't take that risk.. You're gonna have to let Jeremy go now." Elena informed in a stern tone and Vicki scoffed.

"Oh, really? How long have you been preparing the 'oh, you're not good enough' speech, huh?" Vicki asked, putting her phone down on the table. "I'm assuming it predates the whole vampire thing." She added, shaking her head in disbelief.

"All I'm saying is that Jeremy isn't getting involved in any of this." Elena stated, glaring at Vicki who rolled her eyes and chuckled back. "I mean it, Vicki." She countered in a serious tone.

"Or what?" Vicki challenged and Elena narrowed her eyes. Vicki smirked and vamped toward Elena, grabbing her by the throat and pushing her against the wall. "Let's get one thing straight, you perky little bitch. You had my brother whipped for fifteen years. Fifteen years, and then you dumped him—When I look at you, that is all that I see." She stated through gritted teeth before I pushed myself off of the wall I leant against.

"Vicki." I warned angrily, making her turn to me and smirk in amusement.

"You wanna play, too?" She asked, tilting her head but I rolled my eyes.

"Let Elena go." I stated in annoyance, only to hear Vicki laugh dryly. She dropped Elena easily before vamping toward me, threateningly standing in front of me but I didn't flinch.

"What are you gonna do about it?" Vicki whispered tauntingly as she looked me over in annoyance and I grabbed a poker from the fire place beside me.

"Why don't you try something and find out?" I answered dryly. Vicki narrowed her eyes at me, not knowing what I would or wouldn't do. I moved the poker and pointed it at her warningly, watching her slowly back away.

"Whatever." Vicki scoffed, vamping upstairs again. I rolled my eyes and threw the poker on the floor and moved over to Elena who held her throat, breathing heavily.

"Way to scare her." Damon stated sarcastically from behind me and I gave him a fake laugh.

"Way to call off your bitch." I countered, shaking my head at him in disbelief before looking back at Elena in reassurance.

~~~
"She threatened me." Elena stated angrily at Stefan who sighed as we now stood outside of the Boarding house.
"She's on edge. Imagine every sense in your body operating at super speed." Stefan replied down at her. "I mean, she's uncomfortable in her own skin and when you throw in her other issues—" He started but I cut him off.
"How long before it settles?" I asked quietly and crossed my arms over my chest. "Hours, days, weeks?" I added with a shrug and he shook his head.
"There's no rule book." Stefan answered and I sighed in defeat, looking away from him.
"Well, how long before you learned to control it?" Elena asked, gesturing at him and I watched his eyebrows furrow at her question.
"A while, but I didn't have anyone helping me, I had to do it on my own." He pointed out in defeat. "The thing is—it's hard to resist certain people, especially when you're new." Stefan added in defeat. "It's hard to separate your feelings—love, lust, anger, desire—it can all blur into one urge. Hunger." He warned and crossed his arms over his chest.
"What does that mean?" Elena asked, furrowing her eyebrows in worry.
"It means that Jeremy can't see her. She might not be able to resist or restrain herself but it isn't safe for Jeremy. She could hurt him." Stefan clarified and I ran a hand through my hair in some frustration.
"Or worse." I whispered, thinking about it over in my head before shaking myself away from those thoughts. "El, we need to go." I stated in a tense tone.
"Mariana—" Stefan started but I cut him off.
"Stefan—just.. Don't." I stated, shaking my head at him before walking over to the car.
-Time Skip-
I walked into the kitchen to see Jeremy pouring some lemonade into a glass while he talked on the phone. "You gotta call me, Vic. Tell me what's going on with you.. I need to know." He stated in a distressed tone before hanging up.
"Hey." I stated with a smile and watched him turn to me.
"Hey." He replied quietly and I walked over to the fridge and opened it casually.
"So, uh—so you wanna hang out tonight? We could go to the Halloween thing at school. Get our freak on?" I asked in a chirpy voice. "Could be fun." I added, looking in the fridge but not seeing anything too appetizing.
"Cool—sure, sounds fun.. Can't wait." He replied emotionlessly, half paying attention before he started to walk away and I sighed.
"I know that you're upset about Vicki. I heard that she called Matt, but you can't be with her, Jeremy.. The best thing you can do is let her get better and just let her go." I stated in some urgency and watched him stop in his tracks and scoff.
"What does that even mean? Let her go? Oh, okay. Sure, since we're such experts on letting people go, right?" Jer countered in annoyance as he turned to me.
"I know you may not see it, but trust her, Jeremy. It's for the best." Elena pointed out as she came into the kitchen from the hall.
"For months after mom and dad died, I felt like crap—Now, I've been feeling better and in every single moment that I have, Vicki was in every single one of them." Jeremy stated in a sad voice, shaking his head between Elena and I. "So you may not see it, but trust me—Keeping me away from her is not for the best." He warned before walking away from us finally. I felt my jaw clench and I slammed my hand down on the counter island out of frustration once he was out of the room.
"Mariana." Elena whispered in reassurance but I scoffed back at her.
"What are we doing?" I asked, looking up at her in disappointment. "What is the point anymore, Elena?" I added with a sigh before walking out of the kitchen as well.
Elena, Jeremy and I walked around the school in our costumes. Little kids were also roaming around the school, trick or treating from high-school groups handing out candy. Jeremy smirked at a small group of kids and ran up from behind them, scaring them and making them scream. Jeremy laughed and came back over to Elena and I, making Elena hit him on the shoulder in annoyance but some amusement. We walked into the school and I noticed the florescent blue lights beaming on us. My eyes scanned the halls around us before they fell on Matt who stood at the end of the hall. He smiled widely at us and looked at Elena who was dressed up as a nurse while he wore his surgeon costume. "You went with last year's costume too, huh?" Matt asked her as he came over, holding a cut off foot while she held the hand.
"Yeah, I didn't know I was coming until an hour ago." Elena replied with a smile and Matt nodded in agreement.
"Me either." He pointed out before looking at me and laughing. "Cat Woman, Huh? Wouldn't expect anything less." Matt stated shaking his head in amusement as he looked over my black heeled boots, leather pants with a long cat tail attached, leather corset before finishing it off with cat ears.
"What can I say? She's kind of a bad ass." I shrugged and Matt laughed before turning to Jeremy.
"And you're going as... Yourself?" Matt asked jokingly at Jeremy who stood in dark jeans, sneakers and a black hood. Jeremy rolled his eyes before walking away from us and Matt furrowed his eyebrows at Elena and I.
"He's not talking to us right now. We got into a fight." Elena informed as she rested her hands on her hips while Matt slowly nodded.
"Yeah, I got into a fight with Vic too, when she got home." Matt replied and I furrowed my eyebrows. "I tried not to smother her tonight but part of me didn't want to let her out of my sight." He added and Elena's forehead wrinkled in concern.
"She's here?" Elena asked in worry and Matt furrowed his eyebrows.
"Yeah. You can't miss her, she's a vampire." He answered in amusement. I shared a look with Elena before I started looking around in the direction Jeremy went.
"Where did Jeremy go?" I asked emotionlessly and Elena started breathing heavily in worry from beside me.
"Guys, what's the matter?" Matt asked, clearly seeing the tension between us build.
"Sorry, Matty. We—we gotta go find Jer." I stated in defeat and gave him a small smile before walking quickly away from him, in the direction that I saw Jeremy go. "Elena, text Stefan and tell him that Vicki is here." I warned in defeat once we were away from Matt.
~~~

"Thank God." Elena stated in relief as Stefan walked down to hall towards us, holding Vicki's arm in his hand as he dragged her behind him.

"What the matter?" Stefan asked, looking between Elena and I in concern.

"We lost track of Jeremy. I was worried." Elena answered as she eyed Vicki skeptically. Matt came down the hall and walked over once he saw us, only to raise an eyebrow at Stefan's hold on Vicki's arm.

"What's going on?" Matt asked, looking at the scene and clearly misreading the situation.

"Hey, uh—Everything's fine." Stefan reassured but Vicki turned away from him and pulled herself from his hold and stood next to Matt.

"I told you to quit bothering me." Vicki stated loudly in annoyance and I furrowed my eyebrows.

"No, Vicki—don't do this." I stated with a sigh as Stefan furrowed his eyebrows.

"Matt, he won't leave me alone." Vicki stated in a pleading voice as she looked at her brother who turned towards Stefan.

"You need to back off, man." Matt warned in a stern voice and I looked at Elena who furrowed her eyebrows.

"Matt, it's—it's okay." Elena reassured, stepping in between the two but Matt scoffed.

"No, no—it's not okay." Matt argued loudly as he eyed Stefan in annoyance. "What the hell is your problem?" He added angrily, stepping forwards and I narrowed my eyes at Vicki who wasn't beside Matt anymore.

"Guys, she's gone." I stated loudly, looking down the hall that we stood in but saw no sign of her.

~~~
I walked down the halls as the fluorescent lights changed from different colors in each hall that I went down. I groaned in annoyance as people's laughs and screams were heard all around me. "Jeremy?" I asked, seeing a guy in a hooded costume in front of me, leaning against the lockers and I grabbed his shoulder and sighed in defeat. "Sorry." I apologized before walking away from him in search again. I shook my head and leant against the cold lockers beside me, closing my eyes and trying to remain calm. I breathed deeply, trying to block out the loud screams as well as the music around me. If Jeremy was in the school with Vicki, where would they go? I asked myself as I thought it over. The bathroom? No, too many people. Smoker's alley? No, it's too predictable for Vicki.. I groaned, running a hand over my forehead before visions came to me and I furrowed my eyebrows... Visions of the school and colorful lights started flashing through my mind—as if memories.. my mind started making them out to be pictures and images.. A parking lot, the school, rows of busses.. I opened my eyes and furrowed my eyebrows, feeling dizzy all of a sudden. "What the hell?" I asked quietly, hearing all the noise around me rush back al at once. I looked down the hall towards where the back door entrance of the school was and I furrowed my eyebrows, not knowing if I should even be considering the possibility.. but it was worth a shot. I walked down the hall before turning the corner and seeing the back door opened already and I narrowed my eyes. I quickly walked out and into the parking lot to see busses lined up in rows. Like my vision.. Murmured voices of struggle cake through my ears and I furrowed my eyebrows, moving in the direction of them before they started becoming clear.
"Vicki, No!" Elena's voice yelled out, echoing around me and I widened my eyes and ran forwards. I looked down each row of busses before I saw Vicki vamp at Elena and throw her on top of a wooden crate and trash next to the dumpster.
"Hey!" I growled angrily, making Vicki turned towards me and away from Elena who groaned in pain and slowly started getting  up. I saw Jeremy hold himself up against one of the busses out of the corner of my eye. "Come on. Let's see what you got." I stated angrily, shaking my head at Vicki who was shifted in front of me with veins coming from her eyes as well as extended fangs, letting me see all her glory. Vicki vamped at me angrily but was pushed back against a bus as Stefan held her down.
"Vicki!" Jeremy yelled out. Vicki pushed Stefan off of her and vamped away, disappearing under the bus and I widened my eyes. I looked at Elena who now stood, holding her side in pain.
"Go! Get inside!" Stefan stated worriedly at the three of us before we all ran back to the back entrance of the school. I grabbed Elena and Jeremy, pulling them behind me before opening the door that was now shut. I moved out of the way, gesturing Elena and Jeremy inside quickly but Vicki came from behind Jeremy, shoving him to the ground and easily grabbing Elena before she could get inside.
"Vicki!" I yelled out in protest and watched as she sunk her teeth into Elena's exposed shoulder and I widened my eyes, hearing Elena scream loudly in pain. I moved forwards to grab Elena but a piece of wood pierced through Vicki's back and came out of here chest. Vicki gasped loudly, letting Elena go and she ran forwards and I grabbed her as she held her bleeding shoulder in fear. I widened my eyes at Vicki who slowly looked down at the bloody piece of wood that stuck out of her heart before it was pulled from her. I watched in shock as Vicki slowly and weakly turned around to Stefan.. He stared back at her with glazed over eyes, in shock at what he just did. Stefan dropped the bloody piece of wood on the ground as Vicki's eyes glazed over and her breaths became jagged.
"Vicki!" Jeremy yelled out from the ground beside her as a tear ran down her cheek. She slowly turned to look at him as her skin desiccated, turning grey and Jeremy widened his eyes. "Vicki!" He yelled again, standing up to rush over to her but Stefan grabbed him, holding him back as Jeremy cried in his arms. "Vicki! Vicki!" Jeremy sobbed, watching her fall to the ground motionless with dark grey skin as veins covered her. "Vicki!!" Jeremy screamed and I looked up at him and slowly shook my head.
"Get him out of here." I warned in a shaky voice as I looked at Stefan who quickly pulled out his phone from his pocket and walked into the school with Jeremy in hand.
"I need your help." I heard Stefan state into his phone as he walked into the school with Jeremy following behind him, no matter how hard Jeremy tried to struggle. I looked beside me at Elena whose eyes glazed over, holding a hand over her stomach as she stared down at Vicki.
"Elena.. You need to get out of here too." I stated quietly, turning to her and she looked up at me as a tear fell from her eyes.
"Mar— " She started in protest but I cut her off.
"Go." I stated emotionlessly and Elena became quiet. She slowly looked back down at Vicki before doing as told and walking back into the party.. I took a deep and shaky breath and looked back down at Vicki before I heard soft footsteps come up from behind me. I turned to see Damon as he wore dark blue jeans, black boots, a white T-shirt and his leather jacket.
"You should go." Damon stated, looking down at Vicki emotionlessly. "I got this." He added with a nod, absolutely no sorrow or guilt in his voice and I furrowed my eyebrows, not moving.
"You did this.." I whispered, looking at him in disbelief and he furrowed his eyebrows at me. "This was your fault." I scoffed angrily but he sighed in response.
"You confuse me with someone who has remorse." Damon replied and I narrowed my eyes before I groaned and forcefully pushing on his chest with my hands but he didn't move. I scoffed, backing away before I swung my hand at him but he caught it in his and I furrowed my eyebrows. "None of this matters to me. None of it." He stated emotionlessly down at me and I pulled my hand away from him as I shook my head.
"People die around you. How can it not matter?" I asked angrily back at him as my eyes glazed over. Damon just stared down at me and I furrowed my eyebrows as a small pang of sadness ran through his eyes before they went back to being blank. I breathed calmly before I narrowed my eyes at him. "It matters, Damon." I stated and he tilted his head at me. "It matters and you know it." I added and watched as he furrowed his eyebrows at me and I looked down at Vicki one last time before I quickly walked away.
~~~

I walked up the porch steps towards the door and saw Stefan leaning against the house while Elena sat quietly on the bench swing. "Where is he?" I asked emotionlessly, looking between the two before Stefan looked back at me.

"Upstairs." Stefan answered quietly and I slowly nodded, walking inside. I looked around the house and heard silence before I walked up the stairs and saw Jeremy's door open. I furrowed my eyebrows and reached the top of the second floor of the house and finally saw Jeremy who sat on his bed away from me.. hugging his knees to his chest. I took a deep breath before I walked into his room and silently sat in front of him, staring at his tear stained cheeks. "Do you understand what happened tonight?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows and putting a hand on his knee reassuringly.

"No.. I—I don't understand. I—I know what I saw.. But—" Jer started in a shaky voice, cutting himself off as he furrowed his eyebrows and looked down, thinking back to the events that happened tonight. "I don't understand." He finished, looking back at me in hurt.

"She was going to kill Elena." I stated quietly and watched as Jeremy shook his head, closing his eyes tightly and rocking himself back and forth repeatedly.

"Now she's dead—Vicki's dead." Jeremy replied whimpering and I sighed deeply.

"I—I'm so sorry, Jer." I whispered in defeat, my voice breaking and my eyes glazing over at the sight of him.

"Make it stop. It hurts." Jer sobbed loudly and I sighed, holding him tightly towards me and rocking him in my arms reassuringly as I rested my chin on his head.

"Sh, sh, sh, sh. It's okay, it's okay." I murmured softly down at him, stroking his hair gently with my hand.

"Why does everybody have to die on me?" Jeremy asked through sobs and I closed my eyes at the sound of his broken voice before I hugged him and felt his arms wrap tightly around me.

"I'm so sorry, Jeremy." I repeated in defeat, pulling him towards me tighter.

~~

I walked back out onto the porch to see Elena still in the same place she was a half hour ago, but Stefan now sat in the chair beside the door.

"Are you okay?" I asked Stefan who stood from the chair and turned to me, stuffing his hands into his jacket pockets.

"I—I wanted to help her." Stefan pointed out quietly and I slowly nodded and examined his face to see that his eyes were red. "But—instead, uh.." He added, cutting himself off and looking away from me. I slowly nodded as my eyes glazed over as well and Elena got up from where she sat and walking over to us. "How's he doin'?" Stefan added, changing the subject.

"He's a mess.." Elena admitted, her voice breaking as she shook her head slowly back at Stefan and I nodded in agreement. "I don't want him going through this again. He—he's just a kid." She added angrily and Stefan put his hands on her shoulders gently.

"Elena—what can I do? What can I do to help, I'll do anything." Stefan stated in defeat as he shook his head slowly and I furrowed my eyebrows as an idea came to mind.

"Can you make him forget?" I asked quietly after a few seconds and Stefan looked at me in confusion.

"Mariana—" Elena started in protest but I cut her off.

"I just want him to get past this. He never will, Elena—He'll never move on until he forgets what happened." I stated emotionlessly, turning to Stefan again. "Please." I pleaded, looking at him silently and Stefan shook his head back at me.

"If I do it, there's no guarantee that it'll work. Because of who I am—Because of how I live.. I don't have the ability to do it right." Stefan stated in disappointment, looking between Elena and I.

"I can do it." A voice countered and I furrowed my eyebrows and turned to see Damon walk onto the porch, his eyes meeting mine. "If it's what you want... I'll do it." Damon shrugged, walking forwards. I looked back at Elena who slowly shook her head in protest.

"It's Jeremy, Elena." I informed in defeat and she furrowed her eyebrows at me, thinking it over. "You said it yourself... You don't want him going through this again." I pointed out. Elena thought it over before she looked away from me, no longer protesting. I took a deep breath and looked back at Damon who was waiting for an answer. "It's what I want." I nodded in agreement and Damon tilted his head.

"What do you want him to know?" He asked and I looked at Elena who folded her arms over her chest and cleared her throat.

"I want you to tell him that Vicki left town.. And she's not coming back." Elena stated in a shaky voice, looking at Damon who watched her quietly. "That he shouldn't look for her—Or worry about her." She added and looked at me before I turned back to Damon, slowly nodding.

"Tell him.... That he's gonna miss her—but he knows it's for the best." I whispered with a small nod and watched as Damon's deep blue eyes, intently stared back into my chocolate ones. Damon nodded slowly and looked at Stefan who stood behind Elena. Damon looked away from his brother and back down at me for a few seconds before he walked quietly into the house.
