RANFREN ONESHOTS.776 words~4 min read

Y/N and Randall were classmates, an unlikely pair. Despite the whispers and warnings from others to avoid the "freak," Y/N found the judgment offensive.  She saw past the eccentricities, past the whispers about his unusual hobbies – his fondness for dolls, his sometimes unsettling demeanor.  She saw a kind heart, a lonely soul, and she made a point of befriending him.  He, in turn, was overjoyed, genuinely thrilled to have found someone who accepted him without judgment.  A new friendship blossomed, unexpected and precious.

One evening, Randall, in a burst of unexpected enthusiasm, mentioned his longing to experience a sleepover, a movie night, the simple joys of childhood companionship that had somehow eluded him.  Y/N, without hesitation, invited him to her place.  He was visibly shocked, his cheeks flushing a deep crimson as a shy smile, revealing a prominent canine tooth on his right side, spread across his face. He accepted instantly, his excitement barely contained.

Later that night, at Y/N's house, Randall's energy was infectious.  It was nearly midnight, and Y/N, yawning slightly, smiled at his boundless enthusiasm. He bounced onto her bed, a whirlwind of excitement.  He chattered excitedly about how happy he was to be there, to finally be experiencing a sleepover, the simple joy radiating from him like sunshine.  His words were a torrent of unbridled happiness, a stark contrast to the quiet loneliness he usually carried.  The room was filled with the sounds of his delighted chatter, the soft rustle of blankets, and the comfortable silence of a genuine connection forming between two unlikely friends.

"Y/N, come on! I haven't told you about my favorite book, The Dark Prince!" he exclaimed, his voice brimming with excitement, a playful lilt to his tone.  He sounded like a kitten, all purrs and delighted meows.  She chuckled, nodding her head, her eyes fluttering closed in anticipation.  She was ready to listen, ready to be swept away by his enthusiastic recounting of the hundred-page tale, happy to be lost in his world of fantastical adventures and dark princes.

As he leaned in closer, Y/N's eyes fluttered open, surprised to find Randall's face just inches from hers. "Randal, I'm awake! What's up?" she muttered, a hint of confusion in her voice.  He remained silent for a moment, his gaze steady and earnest, before breaking into a shy smile.

"You're very pretty," he said suddenly, the compliment hanging in the air like a delicate whisper. The unexpected sweetness of his words made her sit up quickly, their foreheads bumping together with a soft thud.

"I'm sorry—!" she exclaimed, instinctively reaching out to soothe the moment, her hands brushing against his forehead. But he gently pulled her wrist, guiding her hand back so she could feel the warmth of his forehead against hers.

"Y/N...~ you're very easy to get flustered," he teased, his tone light and playful, the corners of his mouth lifting in a mischievous grin. She shook her head, a nervous smile creeping onto her face as she looked away, her cheeks flushed. "Ahah... no, no, I'm just not used to—"

"To this also?" he interjected, their noses touching in a moment that felt suspended in time. The air around them was thick with an unfamiliar tension, the quiet of the night amplifying their shared breaths. She bit her lip, the warmth of his presence sending a flutter through her chest, the world outside fading away as they got lost in each other’s gaze.

"Y/N, would you leave me if I did this?" he whispered, the question hanging in the air between them, heavy with unspoken implications.  She knew exactly what "this" meant, the unspoken desires that had been simmering beneath the surface of their friendship.  Her cheeks flushed crimson, and she averted her gaze, unable to meet his eyes.  A barely audible "no" escaped her lips, a quiet denial that somehow held more weight than a shouted affirmation.  His smirk widened, a slow, predatory curve of his lips as he leaned in, closing the distance between them with a soft, tentative kiss.

His hands, warm and firm, pressed against the mattress on either side of her hips, effectively pinning her in place. His knees were braced beneath the mattress, anchoring him as he leaned over her.  Y/N remained frozen, her body stiff with a mixture of surprise and a burgeoning sense of something new.

"Are we now a couple?" he asked, his grin innocent and playful, a hint of mischief twinkling in his eyes. Y/N blushed, a deep crimson spreading across her cheeks.  She mumbled a shy, almost inaudible, "Maybe," the uncertainty in her voice a testament to the whirlwind of emotions swirling within her.
