After I managed to stuff all my suitcases and boxes inside the closet, I took out my toiletries and pajamas, and walked out of the closet to see Xavier had already settled on his bed with his phone.

I made my way to the bathroom and locked the door behind me.

Well. Just like I imagined, the bathroom was huge, and it had a luxurious bathtub, my favorite.

After taking a warm shower, I dried my hair, put on the tank top and shorts, and walked out of the bathroom.

Xavier briefly looked up at me before he focused back on his phone.

I walked to the other side of the bed, and when I was about to take a seat, I heard his annoying voice again.

“What are you doing?”

“I’m going to sleep,” I answered.

“You are not sleeping in the same bed as me,” he said.

I turned around to look at him.

“You can take the floor,” he suggested.

“I’m not your dog to sleep on the floor, Xavier.”

“And I don’t want you sleeping in my bed,” he asserted.

Our eyes locked in a silent staring contest. When he finally looked away, a smirk formed on my face.

I quickly climbed into the bed and got under the cover.

“You’re not going to listen to me, eh?” he asked, but I didn’t reply.

Instead, I flipped around to face away from him.

I felt the bed move. I glanced in his direction as he went into the closet and walked back in with a blanket and a couple of pillows.

“I didn’t know you would sacrifice your bed for me,” I said while placing my hand on my heart.

“In your dreams,” he said and got back into the bed, pushed the blanket toward me, and placed the pillows to create a barrier before he used his blanket to cover himself.

“Now I don’t want you rolling and coming to my side,” he warned me while I tried my best to suppress the smile that was threatening to form.

“I don’t think the pillows are necessary, Xavier. I don’t roll,” I told him.

He shook his head, turned to his side, and lay down on the bed.

“I know you’re lying,” he mumbled before he turned off the lamp next to him.

I knew I should’ve grown the balls to tell my mother that I'd found my second chance mate and that I had no intention of accepting her, but just the thought of her fury made me want to run for the hills.

Even though I despised the idea of having Eleanor in my room, I knew I had no say in the matter. Plus, despite me not wanting to accept her, I did feel guilty for sleeping with Jade and jumping to conclusions about Ivan. It wasn’t pleasant for me to see Eleanor in such pain. At least if she was staying in my room, I could keep a close eye on her recovery.

But that still didn’t mean I wanted my parents all tangled up in my mate business.

“Urgh! They were supposed to come back in two months, not right now!” I mumbled and looked down at my phone again, rereading the message that I'd gotten from my mom a few hours ago.

Mom

We have already boarded the jet, and we will be home tomorrow morning. See you soon, honey.

I looked up to see the bathroom door open, and Eleanor walked out, wearing minimal clothes.

~Your seduction is not going to work on me. No matter how hot you look in those damn short shorts.~

I quickly looked away from her and continued reading my emails.

She walked toward the bed, and this made my heart start to race.

“What are you doing?” I asked her.

After a heated conversation between the two of us, I finally gave up and placed a lot of pillows between us and fell asleep.

Something kept tickling my nose whenever I inhaled, which made me wake up.

I looked down to see that it was hair. Her hair.

I knew she would roll.

I looked down to see how she perfectly fit into my body, just like…

~Stop it, Xavier! No getting attached~, I scolded myself.

I removed my hand from her waist and was about to wake her up and yell at her for crossing the border when I realized that I was quite far away from my side.

I looked back to see the pillows messed up.

“~You’re the person who crossed the border, idiot,~” Kyle chimed in while laughing, and this annoyed me to the maximum.

“~Would you shut up?~” I growled before I quickly moved away from her and got up from the bed.

I looked back again to see that she was still sound asleep, so I made my way to the bathroom to take a shower.

I woke up when the rays of sunlight hit my face, and I checked my phone to see that it was 7 a.m.

I got up from the bed, stretched my muscles, and looked to my left to see that Xavier had already left.

I walked to the bathroom and changed into something more appropriate. I wanted to look nice since I might have to meet Xavier’s parents today.

I wore a purple sundress, did my hair in a ponytail, and walked downstairs to the kitchen.

I filled a mug of coffee and sat at the table to drink it before I began making breakfast.

Would his parents come for breakfast?

“~Let’s mind-link Xavier and ask,~” Erica suggested, and I nodded my head.

It was quite difficult to mind-link that asshole, but after a few tries, I managed to get through.

“~Xavier, will your parents be here for breakfast?~”

“~Yes, and don’t worry about that, I have already told the kitchen to send food,~” he said before he cut the link off.

Even though the chefs prepared excellent food, I thought they might want to eat some comfort food. I mind-linked the kitchen and told them not to bring breakfast, and I began making it myself.
