BETA XAVIER

As I sped into the human town, I had already informed Samuel to send in some warriors. As I drove onto the busy streets, I slowed down and looked out again.

There were a lot of scents, both human and werewolf, mingled in the air, which made it difficult for me to find the scent I was looking for.

“~Let me come forward,~” Kyle said, so I nodded my head and gave him control.

He took a sniff of the air a few times, and then we started driving downtown.

The further we drove away from the main street, the less crowded it got.

We took a sharp right and stumbled on the side of town that was a total contrast to the mesmerizing boutiques and beautiful buildings found on the main streets. All I saw were dilapidated buildings and druggies on the side of the road.

I don’t think many luxury cars drove in this direction because the people looked at my car in awe and confusion. We drove for a few more miles when Kyle stopped the car.

“We’ll have to walk from here. I can feel the scent very close,” he said.

I nodded my head, and he gave me control again. I parked the car, got out, and looked around the street. The street was almost deserted, and I didn’t see anyone suspicious either.

I was looking around the place when I heard tires screeching behind me. I turned around and saw four SUVs driving toward me, and they parked behind my car.

Soon, my warriors got out of the cars and walked toward me.

“Beta Costa, do we need weapons?” one of the warriors asked me.

“We’re stronger in our wolf form. We can be more agile,” I said.

There were a few humans lingering in the street.

“But there are humans around.”

“They’re all druggies, and even if they see, I don’t think the police would take their statement because no one would believe them,” I said, and he nodded his head.

“Which building are they in?” he asked me.

“That’s what I was about to find out.” I took out the vial from my pocket and poured a few drops on the floor.

A few minutes later, Benjamin’s scent wafted into our nostrils.

“Don’t let anyone live. Kill them all,” I commanded.

“What if Mr. and Mrs. Amato are in there?”

“They’re included on the list. It’s a waste of breath to keep them alive,” I said, and he nodded his head and went to inform the rest.

The warriors all got into position, and we began following Benjamin’s scent.

I was about to turn a corner when someone bumped into me and fell to the ground. It was Avery.

“So, your mommy and daddy finally found their lost daughter?” I asked her with a smirk on my face. She was about to scream when I quickly got down and clamped my hand around her mouth. She started struggling in my hand, but my grip was stronger.

“Beta Costa, Miss Amato is alive,” one of the warriors behind me said in shock and surprise, and I turned around to face him.

“I didn’t know,” Avery choked out.

The warriors stared at me in horror but didn’t utter a word.

“Where the fuck is Eleanor?” I asked.

Avery pointed to a nearby building.

“How many are there?”

“Se…seven inside. F…four outside,” she sputtered.

I dropped her to the ground.

“Take her somewhere far away. I don’t want them seeing her and alerting anyone,” I told him, and he nodded his head, quickly leading her away.

“Secure all the exit points and make sure no one slips out,” I said to one of the warriors, and he began organizing the team.

“Beta Costa,” one of the warriors called me. “We’re ready to move in,” he said, and I nodded my head.

I looked up at the sky, now cloaked in a thick, dark layer of clouds. Rain could either help or hurt us right now, but I hoped it would work in our favor.

I started walking down the empty streets and finally came to a stop in front of a four-story apartment.

The paint on the building was starting to peel off, and the windows were all blacked out.

“~Kill everyone as silently as possible without alerting the people inside the building,~” I mind-linked all my warriors as I started moving closer.

I walked up the staircase and tried to open the front door. Luckily for us, it was unlocked. As I pushed the door open, I walked in to see that no one was around.

~Stupid rogues.~

We walked in further when I heard the sound of television coming from my right. I motioned for a few warriors to walk into the apartment while I walked in further.

I spotted a door to the basement that was left open.

“A few of you go and search the entire building. Kill everyone,” I commanded, and I continued to the basement.

I started walking downstairs with a group of my warriors. There were two rogues near the landing, and before they could turn around to see us, we quickly broke their necks and moved forward.

There were two apartments in the basement as well.

I motioned a few to go toward the right apartment while I moved to the left. I raised my hand and counted down from three.

As I reached zero, I kicked the door open and walked in.

“Your vacation home looks really beautiful, Mr. Amato,” I said as a way of greeting.

Mr. and Mrs. Amato stared at me in horror.
