Chapter 69 The Intelligent and Gorgeous Woman
Crystal leaned against Michaelâs chest as she shut her eyes and spoke to herself. Calm down. Take a deep breath. Another one. Deep breaths⦠Finally, she felt a little betterâher heart wasnât pounding as hard as before. She opened her eyes before turning to look at Michael. âTell me, Michaelâwho are Angieâs parents?â she asked in a calm voice.
All of themâMichael and his sonsâwho knew the truth could feel their hearts in their throats. Michael looked like he was about to say something, but he stopped himself at the very last moment. Crystal looked directly into his eyes. âAngie⦠is Cameronâs daughter, isnât she?â Although she spoke at a slow pace, her voice was extremely shaky.
âWhat nonsense are you saying, Mom?â Angie screamed. âWhat got into you? How could you say such things? How could I be Cameronâs daughter? You⦠Are you mad, Mom?â If Angie had felt blown away by the fact that she wasnât a child of the Wendel Family, then she felt like she had completely exploded upon hearing that she was Cameronâs daughter. Angie, out of all people, knew best why Madeline had suffered throughout the years. It was because Madeline was supposedly Cameronâs biological daughter!
Cameron is the illegitimate daughter of the Taylor Family, and sheâs one of the culprits who caused my grandmotherâs death, Angie thought. Naturally, everyone would hate her daughter since they all hated her. Thatâs why everyone in the Taylor Family treated Madeline so horribly. If Dan hadnât been a rebel who insisted on going against my uncleâs words and bringing Madeline home, Madeline would have died on the streets.
Madeline didnât do anything wrongâshe only went through all of that abuse and maltreatment because sheâs Cameronâs daughter. Just the fact that sheâs Cameronâs daughter is already a crime in the family. But now, Momâs claiming that Iâm Cameronâs daughter! No. This canât be possible. Iâm Mom and Dadâs biological daughter, and I have the blood of the grand and elegant Wendel and Taylor families.
How could I be Cameronâs daughter? Iâm not. I canât be! Angie thought.
Crystal didnât seem to notice Angieâs screams as she continued to look at her husband. âAnswer me, Michael. Is Angie Cameronâs daughter?â
Michaelâs Adamâs apple bobbed up and down, but he remained silent for a long while. Once he gave Crystal his answer, he would be ruining his daughterâs future. He had spent more than 20 years caring for and nurturing Angieâhis daughter was like a precious gem to him! How⦠am I supposed to be okay with this?
âShe is, isnât she?â Crystal never once took her eyes off of him. âYou said that Madeline is our daughter and that you have a DNA test report to prove it. So, itâs confirmed that Madelineâs our daughter⦠Angie isnât my biological daughter, yet she looks similar to me⦠Why would she look similar to me? Because Cameron and I share the same father! Cameron and I look rather similar to each other, too. Sheâs Cameronâs daughter, and she looks like Cameron, which explains why she looks like meâ¦â
âNo! Thatâs not right! That canât be true!â Angie cried out loud as she shook her head frantically. âStop talking, Mom. Thatâs not true. Iâm your daughter. Iâm Daddyâs little girl. Iâm really your child!â
But Crystal didnât look at Angie at all. Instead, she continued to stare at Michael. âBack when I was expected to give birth, I went to the hospital, and I recall Cameron checking in to the same hospital during that same period. I thought she was just there to annoy me and make me mad, but now⦠I seeâ¦â
Crystal finally shifted her gaze to Angie. âNow that I think about it, Cameron had arranged for her and me to share the same ward. She gave birth on the same day I did. All of that wasnât to annoy me or get me mad after all⦠Her main intention was to switch her daughter for mineâ¦â
âNo⦠Thatâs not true, Mom. That canât be trueâ¦â Angie bent down as she sobbed helplessly.
This canât be real. None of this is real. If this is real, then my life is ruined. I thought it was bad enough that Iâm not a biological child of the Wendels. I canât believe the bad part was revealed at the very end. I canât believe Iâm Cameronâs daughter! Iâm the one who often cursed Cameronâs daughter for being cheap, rude, and shameless⦠And now, Iâm that exact person I used to curse at! No. I canât believe it. This must be one of Madelineâs evil schemes.
I have to be my parentsâ child. All of this is just a lie! Angie was still sobbing as she ran toward Michael and Crystal. âItâs not what it seems to be, Mom and Dad! This canât be true. You guys have been fooled by Madeline. Iâm your daughter. This is all part of Madelineâs evil plan. Sheâs fooling you guys! Donât trust her. Donât!â
Jonathan turned to Angie with a complicated gaze in his eyes. âI watched as the DNA test was done, Angie. There canât be a mistake with the results. Madelineâs really Mom and Dadâs daughter.â
âNo! Youâve been fooled by her too, Jonathan!â Angie cried while shaking her head. âSheâs a liar, and she lied to all of you. Iâm your sister, Jonathan. Donât let her fool you! Madelineâ¦â Angie turned to Madeline before charging over to her. Cedric had been holding onto Angie, but she pushed him aside. âYouâre so evil!â Angie shouted at Madeline. âHow could you try to take my parents away from me? I want to kill you. I want to kill youâ¦â
But before Angie could get close to Madeline, Emory came in between both girls before he sent a kick directly into Angieâs stomach. Angie stumbled backward upon being kicked, and she soon fell onto her bottom with a loud smack as she hit the ground.
âHow dare you, Madeline?â Cedric was furious.
Sebastian smirked. âWhy are you shouting at my wife when it was my bodyguard who was protecting her, Cedric? Are you just picking on my wife because you think sheâs an easier target?â
Cedric grew even more furious. âDo you think Iâm afraid of you, Sebastian?!â
âNo. I never thought so. The stupidest people are the ones who have the least fear, anyway! I donât think youâre afraid of anything!â Sebastian chuckled.
âYouâ¦â Cedricâs face turned into the color of a tomato as he felt his blood boiling.
âThatâs enough, Cedric.â Jonathan walked over and pushed his brother behind his back. âYouâre not allowed to speak again without asking for Dadâs or my permission!âThis is property © of .
âBut Jonathanâ¦â Cedric was displeased.
âI told you to shut up!â Jonathan frowned.
Cedric was extremely respectful toward his brother. Even though he felt like he was about to erupt with anger, he decided to keep his mouth shut. Meanwhile, Crystal patted her chest as her face turned pale. Michael got worried upon seeing this, so he quickly ordered the family doctors to come over and check on her.
Both of the family doctors couldnât do much apart from providing Crystal with pills that could prevent a heart attack. Then, they suggested for Crystal to calm down. She wasnât supposed to get too emotional.
Crystal tried her best to regulate her emotions and focused on one thought in her mind. I have to know the truth! I canât collapse!
After taking her medication, Michael helped her over to a couch in the hall. Sebastian and the rest of them were also invited into the hall. Once Crystal felt a little better, she quickly turned to her husband. âCan you answer my question now, Michael? Angie is Cameronâs daughter, right?â
