The cleaning team, or rather, the purification team finally arrives, just thirty minutes late from my sister's request.
I wonder if she came... I carefully adjust my clothes as I head to the bathroom to check my hair in the mirror.
Calmly looking at myself in the mirror, I remove bits of mud from my clothes and hair, remnants of the transformation in my body.
I take a comb from my pocket and fix my hair carefully; after all, I can't look careless.
âProfessor, what are you doing?â I glance to the side and see Saulo staring at me from outside the bathroom.
âJust tidying up a bit, Saulo,â I put the comb back in my pocket.
âMs. Cassiel is already outside; she seemed pretty angry when she leaved,â Saulo holds his nose.
âWhen we get home, Iâll remind her to take a shower,â I step out of the bathroom as Saulo smiles at the comment; apparently, he has a sensitive nose.
Outside, the entire perimeter is surrounded, with lines of golden energy forming an invisible barrier to the civilian eye, blocking unauthorized entry and exit.
Four men in robes pass by me and Saulo, entering the morgue for cleaning.
Outside, there are six men dressed similarly to police officers for civil control should anyone approach, as well as four women with the same purpose.
There are also some vehicles and a white truck with a cross mark on the left door. Next to the truck, my sister, covered with blood on her pants and dirt in her hair, is talking to the most beautiful woman in the world.
She has long, light blue hair that resembles the sky swaying in the wind; her eyes are jade green, her skin is so fair and clean it could reflect light, her lips are full yet delicate, and her fingers are thin but not weak at all. She stands at one hundred sixty-three centimeters tall, and her clothes are completely different from the rest of the team, consisting of gray jeans and a white shirt under an open brown coat.
I place my left hand on my chest and take a deep breath. Whenever I look at her, my heart races, my blood quickens, and my forehead gets hot.
I need to calm down; Iâm on duty, and this isnât the time for that.
Looking to the side, I see Saulo watching me with a mocking smile on his face.
âWho is that, Mr. Seth?â
Damm brat! I cough twice with my fist in front of my mouth, before I respond.
âHer name is Sachiel, and she commands the Purification Team throughout Italy, which is why they always take a while to arrive,â I look down to ensure my clothes are not dirty.
âWasnât it called the Cleaning Team?â I glare at Saulo.
âThe official name is the Purification Team; we call it cleaning because thatâs essentially what they do.â
âThat makes sense. What rank is she?â
I place my hand on my chin, thinking a bit before responding.
âShe is equivalent to a mid-grade Knight, meaning she can take on Assam in direct combat, as well as Demons,â I look at Saulo, who is speechless.
âI hope sheâs not like Ms. Cassielâ¦â With Saulo's comment, I start to laugh as the boy stares at me.
âDonât worry about that; in behavior, my sister and Sachiel are complete opposites, but strangely enough, they arenât like oil and water.â
âWhat do you mean?â
âI mean they are friends,â Saulo looks at me, shocked again.
âCassiel has friends?â
âDonât say that out loud,â I start walking toward my sister and Sachiel, with Saulo following closely behind.

Cassiel turns when she hears us coming, and Sachiel also looks in our direction.
The beautiful woman forms a gentle smile and waves at both of us. Just seeing that makes my face feel warm, followed by a kick from Saulo on my leg to snap me back.
âAre you ready now, brother?â a mischievous smile is on Cassielâs face.
âHello, Seth, good to see you again,â she then looks at Saulo.
She quickly approaches and shakes Saulo's hand.
âHi, Iâm Sachiel. Whatâs your name, young man? Are you their new student? A helper? Wait, you werenât brought in off the street, were you?â I facepalm.
âUm, Iâm Saulo; nice to meet you, Miss Sachiel. Iâm the new student. What do you mean by âthe street?ââ Cassiel turns her back and starts whistling, pretending sheâs not part of the conversation.
âOh, you know, their second student was a woman named Astrari; Cassiel picked her up off the street when they were in India,â Saulo looks at Cassiel.
âSo thatâs how they get students? By finding them lost on the street?â
âThatâs only happened twice!â Cassiel turns to Saulo and Sachiel while I hold back a laugh.
âThen... Sachiel, how long will the cleaning take?â I avoid looking at her while speaking; I canât get distracted again.
âIt should take approximately fifteen minutes,â Sachiel starts pinching Saulo's cheeks while responding; he complains.
âI see. Was there any problem on the way here?â Sachiel releases Saulo, who steps back.
âWe havd to clean up a demon summoning ritual in Cosenza, if thatâs what youâre asking; by the way, I just remembered that Aldwin sent his regards to both of you,â she looks at Cassiel.
âHe was responsible for stopping the ritual?â
âYes, a crazy cultist summoned some lesser demons, and Aldwin was tasked with eliminating them,â Cassiel takes her phone out as she listens.
âHow he went?â
âHe asked me to tell you heâs training just like you instructed,â with the answer, Cassiel smiles with satisfaction and steps away while looking at her phone.
âIs there something for me too?â Sachiel looks at me, her beautiful green eyes reflecting the light and almost blinding meâor maybe Iâm just imagining things.
âHe asked you to take care of Cassiel and remind her to take a shower.â
This again? I can hear Sauloâs laughter, which is quickly stifled by more cheek pinching.
âHow are they treating you, kid?â Saulo breaks free to respond.
âIâm sorry, Miss Sachiel, but I just arrived today; I canât say much,â Sachiel then looks at me.
âDonât let Cassiel break this kid,â she says, adjusting her sleeves and tying her hair back with a ribbon she takes from her pant pocket.
âIâll do my best,â Sachiel smiles and then heads into the morgue.
âSo, lilâ brother,â I look at Cassiel, who is now next to Saulo, both smiling and looking at me.
âWhat is it, sister?â
âWhen will you gather your courage?â
âWhen we finish what we have to do.â
Cassiel just stares at me and shrugs, heading toward the car while I let out a sigh; Saulo goes with her.
What a shame i am...
I also head to the car for the driverâs seat. Cassiel and Saulo quickly got into the back seat.
âWhere to now, sister?â
âLetâs go back âhomeâ; we need to presnet it to the kid.â
âUnderstood,â I start the car and begin to drive, leaving the crime scene to be purified without disturbance.
âMs. Cassiel, what is the role of the Purification Team, anyway? We just skimmed over it in class,â I feel smoke coming out of my ears.
âIn summary, they serve the same role of holy water in a baptism; they guide the Shekinah into the area to dissipate the energy of demons in the region, as well as that of the deceased, allowing the dead to pass to the afterlife without issues and ensuring that exorcised beings take longer to return.â
âIs there really no way to kill them permanently?â I hear a slight tone of sadness from the boy.
âEven if they die, they just return to where they came from; the exorcism ensures they donât come back quickly at least.â
âAnd if we trap them?â
âToo dangerous.â
âI see.â
"Hey, how did Seth and Sachiel first meet?"
I can just imagine the look my sister is making right now...
âIt wasn't romantic at all if that's your question, but it's funny, so Iâll tell you!â
When Cassiel starts to tell the story, I honk the car horn, suppressing the sound of the conversation for a few moments.
âDear sister, I think itâs too personal to expose this kind of thing about your brother.â
âDo you think I didnât hear you talking about my smell? Iâm just returning the favor, dear little brother.â
Damn big-eared! I sigh.
âSaulo, I go to deliver a report to the purification team after a mission so they could do everything accurately; I got the location wrong, thatâs all.â
âNonsense! He walked into the wrong room; Sachiel was inside, and he was enchanted right away; he asked where the right room was, and Sachiel guided him,â I can feel Saulo looking at me.
âWhen they got to the room, she asked Seth to wait and went inside. A few minutes later, he was invited to enter, and she was sitting in the captain's chair. Sachiel loves describing the look on his face!â
âAnd how is it?â
âThe next time you see Sachiel, you can ask her; she tells it better than I do.â
âSisterâ¦â
âOkay, okay, Saulo, what kind of spells do you know?â
âI can shoot energy blasts and do some prayers.â
âGreat, we'll work on that when we get there.â
Poor kid.
Finally, we reach the public parking lot where I park the car, and the three of us get out.
âAren't you going to lock the car, Mr. Seth?â
âIt has an energy marking system; itâs all safe.â
âIâm going to take care of some things; take Saulo up front,â Cassiel says as she walks away.
âLetâs go,â I start walking with Saulo following me.
After eight minutes of walking, we stop in front of a humble house that has a ground floor and one upper floor.
âThis isâ¦â
âAny problem, kid?â I ask while unlocking the door.
âI was expecting something more, I donât know, sacred?â
âAppearances are part of the disguise,â I enter the house and wait for Saulo to come in so I can lock the door.
âI understand.â
