Chapter 9: 9: Wall

My body is extremely heavy right now; the mud and stone surrounding my whole body are the cause.

The exorcism prayer I used is a distortion of the sacred texts, out of order, and as such, the results are affected.

The rock around my body provides me with elevated protection; it can defend even against a Demon’s attack, as long as it doesn't strike the joints, like the neck.

Facing the three Yoguais, I step in front of Saulo, walking to the midpoint of the roof; as a teacher, I must be the shield.

The Yoguais prepare to charge; the space to move is merely two meters on each side, so they have to coordinate to reach Saulo behind me.

As if I would allow that, I pound my fists together and begin to pray.

“There will never again be violence in your land; your country will not be destroyed and laid waste again; you will call your walls salvation, and your gates Praise of God.” – The Yoguais charge, launching a pincers attack from both sides to disrupt my vision, but the prayer concludes, and a white light shines from my body.

The two Yoguais reach my body from the sides, but then they are repelled by an invisible force; shortly after, a lightning-fast arrow whizzes by my side, hitting the right shoulder of the central Yoguai, piercing through and burning it as the creature clutches its shoulder with its paw, holding back a scream.

“Good shot, Saulo!” A smile forms, and then I focus again on the Yoguais.

The force that repels them is from the prayer of Isaiah 60:18; it forces enemies to make only frontal attacks, being repelled when trying to attack from the sides, making it useful for dealing with more than one enemy at a time.

Due to the injury, the other two Yoguais become furious and charge again.

The Yoguai on the left reaches me first, executing a simple downward sword strike; I position my left arm in front to defend against the attack, the sound of the blade colliding with the rock is similar to a car crash in volume.

I then begin to move my right arm towards the creature's face, fingers clenched into a fist to throw a punch, but I am overconfident and distracted by the second Yoguai.

The creature leaps and falls in my direction with its sword; at the distance it is, I won’t be able to put my arm in front in time for a defensive posture.

The creature's sword then strikes my skull, and in that moment, I hear Saulo’s frightened voice calling my name.

But there’s no need to worry; after all, the protection from the Book of Genesis surrounds my body.

The Yoguai's sword, made of ancient steel, breaks upon contact with my skull; even with the elevated strength of a Yoguai, a weapon without a spell wrapped around it is destined to break upon hitting my head, where the Sefira Kether is located, that is, the Crown.

In an instant, I grab the Yoguai in mid-air by the arm and throw it against the Yoguai to my left, smashing both onto the ground, the sound of breaking bones being quite noticeable, then I turn to the third Yoguai.

The creature drops its sword, knowing it is useless, and then... shoves its right paw into its burned shoulder, blood and brown fur flying through the air with the puncture.

I widen my eyes at the scene and move my tongue to the roof of my mouth, touching the palate with the tip of my tongue and emitting a muffled sound.

“Da’at,” the summoning of the Sefira of knowledge, which corresponds to the mouth in the human body.

With the activation of Da’at, the aura of the creature in front of me becomes visible, as do those of the other two Yoguais, who recoil, but the middle one has a different color.

Crap, I should have activated Da’at earlier! I step back two paces, trying to see what the Yoguai will do.

“Saulo, shoot the one in the middle!” At my command, Saulo pulls the bowstring, an electric arrow forms, and then he releases it.

The electric arrow flies across the roof, aiming for the creature's neck, but it is too late.

The creature pulls its paw from its shoulder; a bone blade wrapped in a dark aura is now in its hands, hitting the arrow and knocking it aside with the impact, Saulo steps back, surprised and frightened.

I get it, it is an older Yoguai; capturing it is a priority since it must be able to speak.

“Saulo, keep your composure, we're still on duty,” I return to the front; if all it does is turn its body into a weapon, it is fine.

“What's up, little wolf? What are you doing here in this city?” The reason is obvious; the intent is to provoke.

A smile forms on the creature's lips, allowing me to see its silver fangs, a black liquid oozing like drool.

“Silence is the greatest treasure that you humans discard,” The beasts charge quickly, and I do the same.

The central creature reaches me first; it is faster and stronger than the others. The creature swings the sword in a horizontal cut with the bone sword; I immediately place my left arm in front, the weapon and my body clashing, the sound of steel and rock colliding echoing across the roof.

I move my right arm to throw a punch at the central Yoguai, but the Yoguai on the right positions its head in front in an instant; my fist collides against the Yoguai's skull, which falls to the ground, unconscious and bleeding.

I then hear the sound of air being cut; I turn my head to react, but the sword is already about to strike my neck; the third Yoguai attacks my blind spot during the conflict.

The creature's weapon heads toward the joint of my neck, one of the weak points of the armor to allow movement.

There is no time to defend, only to try dodging

A glow then illuminates my vision; the Yoguai's sword and its hand fly through the air, but no blood gushes, the wound being cauterized.

The Yoguai's wrist is struck by a lightning arrow from Saulo; indeed, his accuracy is impressive.

“That was close; sorry for the delay, Mr. Seth!” The boy’s voice is nervous, understandable given the situation; the Yoguai without the hand recoils, grunting in pain.

The Yoguai in front of me pulls back its sword and takes a step back, already preparing for the next charge.

The black aura on the creature's sword becomes denser; it is channeling energy, so I need to do the same.

With my right fist closed, I direct the energy of Shekinah in my body to it, increasing the power of my next hit.

I position my right fist at my waist and flex my legs, preparing for the enemy attack.

The Yoguai grips the sword with both paws, the intensity of the black aura strengthening, probably a final trick.

The creature then charges, raising the sword and then bringing it down in a slicing motion aimed at my left shoulder that will come down to my right foot.

I leap to the right and then charge at the creature, the blade missing my body.

Then, I propel myself at the creature, my fist hitting the right side of the Yoguai’s face, knocking it down to my left, unconscious from the impact, blood oozing from its head, the sword falling to the ground.

I direct myself to where the third Yoguai would be, but it has disappeared; there are only two unconscious Yoguais on the roof.

“What the hell? Saulo, did you see where it fled?” I turn to face the boy, who has his hand loose on the bow.

“I shot an arrow at its back while it tried to escape, but it jumped into the water, Mr. Seth,” He pulls the bowstring back again, generating an arrow as he aims at the Yoguai at my feet.

“It won’t be necessary to kill it now; we need to interrogate.” I go to the other unconscious Yoguai, grab it, and then drop it on top of the chief Yoguai.

“If they are shackled and tied with ropes of affliction, He makes them see their works, their transgressions, and that they have acted with pride,” Ropes of light appear after the prayer, binding both Yoguais.

I pull out my cell phone and open it, seeing the messages from Cassiel; not a problem to her, I send her a message informing her of the situation.

“Let’s take these Yoguais to the morgue, Saulo,” I put the phone away and grab the Yoguais, placing them over my shoulder.

“Are you sure about that?” I turn to Seth, who has already put the bow away in the case.

“Yes, the car's trunk will hold them on the way.” I note a smile on Saulo’s face.

“Alright, Mr. Seth, let's go!”

And so, we run back to the car while I carry the Yoguais, subsequently imprisoning them in the trunk of the car.
