With a deep breath yet again, I stepped into the office with a salam. I discarded the idea of taking a sick leave and decided to put on my big girl pants and show up.
I just had to drop my stuff on my desk because I had a meeting to attend.
Mr Anas wasn't present at the meeting and I concluded he was out of the country once again. With the way he flies out regularly, I doubt it's business related.
"Miss Ismail, are you done working on the app with the virus?" The second in command in Smart Minds enquired bringing back my attention to my surroundings.
"Yes I am. It's as good as new." I assured with a small smile.
"Good to know that. Look at this..." He connected the projector to his laptop and gestured for us all to concentrate.
"This is our new application. However, we're yet to name it. Obviously, it's a habit tracker as you can see." He goes on scrolling through the content of the app.
"But Mr Anas doesn't want to name it 'habit tracker'. So I want you all to suggest possible names that he'll like. But before that, I would like you, Miss Ismail to go through it and look for possible errors"
"Alright sir, I'll do that." I take up the task with honor.
"Lastly, for a few weeks, we're going to put a hold on creating new applications. We're going to focus on upgrading our systems, tightening security and making everything better."
We nod in understanding and he dismissed us all.

It was a free Friday for me.
Amma hasn't been herself since the wedding so Ilham and I made plans to take her out.
Dearest Anty Zubaida travelled to her hometown. One of her nieces were getting married, she ought to be present. Her words, not mine.
She has been away for three days and the peace and quiet of the house is indescribable.
"Amma we're ready and waiting for you." Ilham notified softly knocking on Amma's door.
"Do we really have to do this girls?" she was clearly not excited for the outing.
"Yes Amma. There's no way out. Now let's get going."
Umar put on his glasses to complete his swag for the day before joining us outside.
The bolt driver arrived immediately we stepped out and we zoomed off.
We put out our carpet on the bare sand of Jabi park then arranged all the delicacies we ordered.
We had cakes, donuts, samosas, chicken wings and smoothies to wash it down.
We spent the evening reminiscing about the past. Amma's mood gradually lightened and she told us how Ilham gave her a hard time while she was a baby.
There were so many people like us that came to the park to just unwind. Laughter erupted from the different groups of friends and families. It was satisfying to watch.
Umar sighted a horse from afar and insisted on going for a ride.
After going for several laps with the rider, we went for a boat ride and it was fun to say the least.
Ilham and Umar rolled up the carpet while I called a bolt driver. He arrived roughly seven minutes later and we hopped in.
The small gate of the house was wide open when we arrived. The sight was worrying so I paid up the driver quickly and followed them inside.
The entrance door was also open, something is definitely wrong.
We proceeded further into the parlor tailing Amma. Her resounding "Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un" made me stop in my tracks for a second.
I repeated after her when my brain registered the sight before me.
There were four men. Dressed in black clothes, black durags and a piece of cloth covering their face.
Hooligans!
Bappa Sadu had his knees to the floor, his hands tied behind him and a knife to his neck.
Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un
From Allah we are and to Him is our return
We were immediately made to go down on our knees with one of each man standing behind one of us.
Ya Allah save us from this evil people
I silently whispered, my head down cast.

I think this is the shortest chapter I've written.
