The car ride was an hour long and the kids fell asleep. Ahana was looking out the window while her one Arm was around Ansh and other around Aryan was asleep leaning on her. While on the other Hand Naira was also asleep snuggling into her father.
Neil:"um..Ahana.."(He asked awkwardly )
Ahana:(Looks towards him)"Hmm"
Neil:"Actually I was thinking to shift Ansh to Aryan and Naira's school. "
Ahana:"but...So suddenly ?"
Neil:"No actually mom gave the idea but she wanted me to ask you. She said it would be easy for us and the kids to go to the same school. Plus Ansh is a smart kid I am sure he will do great there"
Ahana:"See I have no problem with shifting Ansh's school but its mid year. Idk if he will be able to cope up and If he even wants to. I'll talk to him about it. If he wants then we can "
Neil:"Okay"(And again silenced claimed the car)
Soon before they know it, The car stopped in front of Malhotra mansion. Neil got out of the car with Naira in his arms. He signaled Sid who came and picked up Aryan and While Ahana came out of the car and had Ansh in her arms. Though it was hard for her to walk and carry her Dress as well as Ansh but she managed. As they reached the main door. Ansh and Naira were taken away from Neil and Ahana as they needed to do more rituals.
Angali did the Aarti and instructed Ahana to do some rituals before they came in. Such as dipping her hands in the red color liquid and leaving her hand print on the wall near everyone other hand print of the daughter in law of the house. After all the required rituals were completed, Ahana and Neil were made to sit opposite of each other as they were gonna play a game.
The game was a simple game but with deep meaning. In front of them was a bowl filled with milk and rose petals. They had to dip their hands in it and find a ring. Who ever finds it first is said to be the dominator in their relationship. For example, if the guy finds the ring first, people assume that as a sign that most of the time the girl will listen to the guy and vice versa. The truth to this game will only be known in the future.
Ahana and Neil started to find the ring. Though their were no excitement in them but everyone's excitement around them made then smile. The boys were cheering for Neil while the girls cheered for Ahana. Ahana felt something under her hands and touched it to recognize that it was indeed the ring. A small hint of excitement washed over her as she picked it up but just then she also felt a tug on the ring. Everyone looked shocked at Ahana and Neil pulled out the ring at the same time. Both looked at each other before looking at the ring while Angali smiles and said.
Angali:"Wow. Do you know what this means"(Ahana and Neil nod no)"That your relationship will be mutual. You both will be a perfect pair as both of you will have the same amount of decision making and respect in ur relationship. This is usually very rare to get"
Everyone:"Wow"
Angali:"Okay let's move on to the next ritual. "
Neil:"Mom I am damn tied "
Angali:"This is the last one beta"
Sid:"Yeah bro take a chill pill you have all night to do whatever you want"(He said winking while others laughed and Neil gave a glare at him. )
Neil:"what is the last ritual "
Angali:"You have to carry Ahana to ur room "
Ahana/ Neil:"What!"
Angali:"Yes"
Neil:"But mom"
Angali:"No but.. it's the last ritual. Common hurry up"
Ahana looks down feeling uncomfortable with the idea while Neil also looks here and there. He looks at his mom glaring at him and signs. He bends down and pick Ahana in a bridal way making you to not make her uncomfortable. She smiles a little seeing this. They start moving to their room only to be stopped by his siblings.
Neil:"what now bhai bhabhi.."
Preeti:"Bhaiya we want our rightful gift for decorating ur room before you take Ahana Bhabhi "
Sid:"Common Bhai open ur wallet "
Neil:"I don't have my wallet with me. Dad"(He said looking at his dad. All this while Ahana was in his arms feeling a weird shy feeling for a reason even she didn't know )
Dad:"Okay kids stop teasing him. Neil you go I'll give them the money "(Neil nods and heads to his room)
As soon they reach their room. Neil slowly put Ahana down on the ground and opened the door. As they enter in, Neil closes the door and looks at the room in awkwardness. The whole room was decorated with candles and flowers for their "First Night"
Ahana:"umm what about the kids"
Neil:"Don't worry Ansh is with Naira and Aryan. Bhabhi will take care of them."(Ahana nodded) "I'll go and change. You can look around the room. And ur closet already has some cloths set up by bhabhi and preeti. It's on the right. Your suitcase should be here by Tomorrow morning "(Ahana nods again as Neil leaves to the restroom. Ahana looks around the room in awe. The whole room in blue color. Her favorite color. She always dreamed of a room like this. She headed to the closest and looked confused at which section was hers. She opened the first 2 doors to see Neil's stuff. She then opened Another one to see a girls jewelry cloths photos and what not.
She picked up a photo and saw a girl standing next to Neil. They were hugging each other with so much love and She saw a amazing smile on Neil's face. Ahana had only seen him smile like this when he was with the kids. She smiled admiring how Neil had kept his wife's stuff. She remembers Rajeev and signs. Closing the door, she moves to the other 2 door. One was full of some of kids stuff while the others had few cloths and accessories for her. She took out a blue salwar suit (Indian dress)
Just then she heard Neil come out. Giving him a small smile she heads into the restroom. Changing her cloths she Comes out to see Neil clearing some of the decorations.
Neil:(Seeing her)"You can sleep on the bed I'll take the couch "
Ahana:(Ahana see Neil taking a pillow to the couch. She can clearly see how uncomfy the couch is plus with Neil's height is a big problem )"umm you can sleep on the bed. I mean the bed really big and I don't mind sharing it. But if you have problem then I can sleep on the couch."
Neil:"You sure."(Ahana nodded )
Neil nods and settle down on the left side of the bed while Ahana takes the right. Closing their eyes and making sure to keep distance from each other , both Ahana and Neil fall asleep tired from the long hectic day.
